Ah, it was allready calculated in my worst case scenario (I don´t know why CAPCOM allways manages to actually fullfill my worst case scenario points, but then gets some points just about perfect most of the time, were it´s important)

This includes that after the TGS, it continues that way(even though we´ll get probably character updates each week, not like now...with only voices and some pics...)

But imagination is never as sweet and real...well, as reality itself.
I knew the waiting will drag on, especially since, as said, it´s CAPCOM we´re talking about.

Well, I´ll close up my "don´t want to wait"-rant with two quotes about waiting(though I don´t know where I got them :P ):

“Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worse kind of suffering.”

“Waiting is a trap. There will always be reasons to wait. The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons and results, and reasons simply don't count.”

EDIT:

BTW the link to download all the beauty of Sengoku BASARA in form of its finest Art(works) is now at the end of my signature. 155 artworks, illustrations and CG images. Just click on it and a link will open were you can download it.

Again, 155 Artworks, Illustrations and CG pictures all in one .rar fall of about 18 MBs. Just click on Sengoku BASARA Artworks at the end of my Signature.

Just something I wanted to tell and give as a fan, to fans. ;)

I'm actually pretty hyped up about this game. Imho, SB3 shows more promise to me than SW3. And now that 2 of my favorite characters of the game are practically confirmed (Kojuuro and Matsunaga), I'm ok with waiting.

I am quite anxious to see more of Mitsunari, what he's like - if he's more than just a Kenshin clone. Judging from the screenshots, his moves look far more powerful and destructive than Kenshin's.

One thing I hope they decide to do (But probably won't happen.) is to let players have more freedom with elements. So far, there was always a set element for every character. I hope they change that and let you have different elements for weapons.

Like you might get a 3rd Fire weapon but you might get another 3rd Ice weapon.

I don't know about that, I think it would unbalance the game a bit, most people would no doubt choose ice element if they had the chance. Besides in it's no coincidence the current ice element users (except Kenshin) aren't exactly upper tier: Ujimasa and Itsuki, if you take away their advantage, well to be honest you aren't left with much, especially in Ujimasa's case.

Downloading now. Thanks DK, you know how much I love Tsuchibayashi's work

Anyway, regarding the elements, I don't know :/
I mean, elements give the character more personality.BASARA Kenshin is practically known for his fast freezing moves and I certainly couldn't picture him with anything else. But DK had a good idea about the mysterious veiled character *coughYoshitsugucough* yet to be revealed. Each of his "orbs" could be assigned to a different element, making him BASARA's first "multi-elemental" character. That would be pretty cool.

Any way, I'm really wishing for more "unique" generals in a stage. You know, similar to SW where you fight many of the playable generals in one stage, such as taking on Nobunaga, Mitsuhide, Katsuie, Magoichi, Hideyoshi, Ieyasu and Tadakatsu in Anegawa.I think it'd make the stage more difficult and could definitely waken things up a bit.

well, multi element attacks had been implemented by KOEI in their musou game for a while now,i can't see why its impossible to do so here, plus it opens more possibilities for character traits so that there will be possible fire~wind,or fire~ice elemental character,or even light~dark characters

but yeah, each character should stick to their default elements, especially elemental weapons, having customizable elements will wipe the uniqueness of the characters away....

If you mean characters having elemental affinity, that wouldn't be a bad idea, so anyone could use any element but some would have a stronger effect than others. Still in SB alot of characters are closely associated with a particular element: Takeda with fire, Date with lightning, Oda/Akechi with darkness, these characters draw a lot of their skills from one element, so it's kinda hard to change them on the fly.

So no Famitsu leak today <_<

Well for multi-elemental, Shingen also uses Rocks(Earth) and as we´ve seen in Ieyasu´s skill pics he has this Rock smash...(so a new element Earth would be cool)

And thus a sub-element wouldn´t be impossible.

But characters like Oda and Akechi would be at a dissadvantage since...Wind? Ice? Fire? Lightning?...Light?...nah that won´t work...

Maybe CAPCOM will surprise us with something super awesome.

P.S.: We need more Ice users. Even though they´ll add Kanetsugu we need at least five Ice users...

EDIT:

No problem MP. I´ve found them on an artwork site and saved them all...there were so many I had never seen before
I though I´d better share them :)

So no Famitsu leak today <_<

Hopefully we'll be blown away by Mistunari's voice on Thursday. :ph43r:

Anyway, just because we've got no new info doesn't mean there's not stuff we could discuss.Such as, will trophies be implemented in the PS3 version? Which band and signer would you like to preform the opening and ending themes? What new type of weapons would you like to see? Stuff like that...

Although, I do agree this board is getting a tad dryed out.But who could blaime us.We're only a small group compared to the rest of the forum but as i've stated above, there's still many things we could discuss.

I'm guessing Capcom will go the usual route on opening and ending themes and get Takanori Nishikawa's bands, T.M Revolution or Abingdon Boys School to preform teh opening and get a decently popular girl singer to do the ending.Hopefully the themes will blow us away but i'm secretly hoping for High and Mighty colour for the opening."Dive into yourself" still remains my favourite BASARA tune with "Brave" and "JAP" coming in second. :hehe:

EDIT:Yeah DK,I know what you mean.Tsuchibayashi has done alot of art for the BASARA series. He puts so much time and effort into his work and I really admire him.I'm suprised he's not as well known as other concept artists.

From Jan 1 2009 onwards, all PS3 game are required to have Trophies so no problem with that part :hehe:

Trophy´s will be no problem.

Even if they are just trophys like "Bronce: Fever - Do a 500 hit combo"

As for the song, I really hope they have Abingdon Boys School doing the theme song again...though I hope they also have such an awesome track like OLIVIA´s Sailing Free.(It was even better than than the BATTLE HEREOS OPENING SONG, in my opinion :ph43r: )

heavenly6 has also made some cool tracks (namely Black Paper Moon which was used for the Soul Eater Anime - the ending theme was from Abingdon Boys School...so that combination worked once)

But I´m a little inexperienced with japanese artists(as I mainly here tracks thanks to animes, like again heavenly6 or HIMEKA - I love her voice - thanks to the valkyria chronicles anime and Lisa Komine thanks to Rental Magica)

Does anyone know a good female artist/band that could provide a fitting BASARA song? OLIVIA was awesome and also the song from Oichi´s ending...

Thanks for the info Crimsondramon (b'.')b
I'm suprised i've never come across it.I'm pretty happy about that.I'll finally be able to 1-up my friends, trophie wise.

As for idea's about bands/singers for SB3, I've always liked the J-pop band, ZZ.I think something similar to their song "Pride yourself" would do BASARA justice as it has the whole "pumped up" feeling about it.Now, for the ending theme...hmmm...well, the previous ending themes on BASARA have always been pretty..."emotional".But sadly, my knowledge on that kind of music is laughable.

So I guess i'm in the same boat as DK. :hehe:
Anybody got any ideas...?

Err, Tsuchibayashi-san also done the character designs for DMC, so I doubt he's not well known. In fact, he should be famous! And he also done the designs for Shinobi and Kunoichi (Nightshade) as well. I totally dig his art.

Speaking of him though, I found this website while googling him. :)

I know.I should have stated Western-wise :hehe:
I mean, the only ones you only ever hear about on English speaking forums is either Nomura Tetsuya/Tetsuya Nomura and Amano -_-

You'd think, because Tsuchibayashi did the work for DMC, he'd be more recognized in the West, but that doesn't seem to be the case. One of my classmates, whos a big on DMC, hasn't even heard about him :/

I mean, is he that well known in Japan as Nomura or Amano in are?
Well, if thats the case, he certainly deserves it.

EDIT: Don't get wrong, I admire both Amano and Nomura (Amano espicially) but when those are the only two concept artists people have heard of, when Tsuchibayashi deserves just as much recognition due to his unique art style, riles me up a bit.

On-Topic:

Yes, Tsuchibayashi really deserves all the respect one can give him.
That´s why I´m looking forward to all the other new characters to see what they´ve done with them (especially Kanetsugu) and the artworks for them.

C´mon TGS why can´t you be sooner? 24 days to go.

well, the first 2 DMC's doesnt give us extensive artwork galleries that has his sketches in it,instead we got that guy who designs megaten/persona characters in DMC3 having his work fully blown as viewable galleries(which i never liked the design, especially the devil trigger forms) so its no surprise that he rarely got credit from the fans for working on DMC too.....

Not to mention that I just think that the majority of Westerners do not care about such things.

I mean, honestly, even amongst gamers who would consider themselves "hardcore", how many among them are likely to know the artists who may have crafted characters they care about?

At best, you may get a few easy "Nomura" mentions, for most Final Fantasy fans. Maybe a few "Amano" mentions, for those who may hail more from the old school, and "Kaneko" for those devout Megaten faithfuls. But that's about the sum of it. Those of us

For various other artists, like Tsuchi? They may never be known on a "by name" basis in the West, at all. And that just largely boils down to how most, unfortunately, DON'T CARE.

It's just like how, largely, most people in the West don't concern themselves too much with voice actors, and yet that's a big thing in the East.

You know...There is a better site that offers more Sengoku Basara artwork.

www.dokuganryu.com

This site has full, high-quality scans of artbooks for all the Sengoku Basara games: Sengoku Basara 1, Sengoku Basara 2, Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes, and Sengoku Basara Cross.

To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of Tsuchibayashi. Though I have to admit, compared to other game artists, his art is really quite unique. I didn't really start liking the art for SB until Heroes came about. It's really cool that Tsuchibayashi can draw in several different styles. Still, he'll never top my favorite: Senri Kita (draws the art for several Samurai Shodown games).

Thanks for the illustrations DK! I had visited Dokuganryu before, but I found some new stuff here...so thanks.

By the way, does anyone know where to find the illustrations that came up as loading screens in SBBH? I wanted to see for myself the rumored "Katsuie" and "Sasaki Kojiro"...

Anyway, now we have the TGS to look forward to...but think about what will happen when it's over. Supposing the game gets released next March, we'd still have...a 6 months wait on our hands. That's going to be even more strenuous, I guess...

Or maybe not. Depends on how Capcom handles it...(remembers the days he spent watching that SB2H trailer)...

funny,i haven't encountered "kojiro" loading screen yet in SBBH.seen a lot of "katsuie" though, perhaps its just that i don't play it that often, which is also why i havent seen urataros or kivat the 3rd yet in CH's opening screen

as for "kojiro",its very, very vague since its obscured by that big white horse......but at least now we know he wears green.....

Hmm...that Kojiro looks like a NPC to me...but it's really hard to make out, as wodash said...

Anyway, Thanks a lot BK!

...to turn this into a not-so-empty post...does anyone know a way to download videos off Nico? I tried today, but DownloadHelper doesn't seem to work...

I'd want some SB2-SB2H stage vids for an experiment, and I don't know where else to get them...'cept Youtube, of course.

No problem, Makishima, glad you liked it ;)

Just noticed...do Musashi, Ranmaru and Yukimura seem more...matured in those artworks?

Maybe we´ll really see more change than "only Ieyasu".

So there´s hope that we´ll finally see, at least a bit", grown up Ranmaru/Itsuki/Musashi...that would be awesome.

Also Kojiro looks a bit like KOEI´s Masamune doesn´t he?
Even though it may not be the final version of Kojiro...I like the long sword. And I like his design...if he ends up looking like that, I wouldn´t mind...
