@BK: well, that's what happens when there's only one game you're looking forward to...(as long as Konami doesn't make a new Suikoden, my meager gaming life is Basara only!)

By the way, Nobunaga's title changed. Before it was Demon King Conqueror of the Heavens, now it's Demon King of Heaven and Hell.

Also, I'm assuming there are release dates for the anime episodes, no?

Would anyone be able to help me out with that schedule, perhaps?
Eh, you should've asked that in the anime thread... :/
But anyway, it is being aired on Japanese channels at Sundays 5PM (UTC+9)

My apologies.
I kinda forgot about that thread.
> . <

Thank you for your help~

Lawliet and Divine Justice: I knew DJ was moving to Canada, but I didn't know it already happened! Where are both of you located?

Zerothewarrior: Bro, if you want to stick around and not be ridiculed, try not acting out so quickly. Try having more diplomatic responses, be kinda neutral about things until they've been confirmed. Misinterpretation seems to be one of the causes you're getting in trouble, just be patient, check the info thread instead of asking us things, it takes up space discussing the game. If you're asking about a feature, I think that's fine, but don't just ask for updates. The info thread is there for a reason.

About the game itself: How long until the game appears on the internet? A few days after release, probably, right? Yarrgh.

If the game gets to people early, Nico might be having some videos up before the actual date.

And just for future reference, DK changed his name to Matsunaga Hisahide. Didn't realize it until I checked his profile.

So, I know I don't post here anymore, but I'm excited for this game.

Are there any foreseeable problems with importing this bad boy for the PS3? I don't think there are going to be any, but it pays to make sure.

@ZeroTheWarrior: Please check your inbox. As far as here goes though, just stop with everything. Unless you are talking directly about SB, without inciting anger and disruption among other members, then do not post. If it was just one post Id leave it be but I'm just gonna go ahead and delete the lot of them, they don't belong here in any fashion. And as Jsun said, don't continue the discussion here. Take it to PM and PM only.

Good. Hopefully this gets settled.

Well, I guess were gonna have to watch nico after the next couple of days.

UL: Yeah, I noticed that too. Just when he said he was starting to care about Hisahide less.

For everyone questioning Wii vs PS3: I left my PS3 at my apartment and am spending the summer home with family. I brought my Wii with me and will be getting the Wii version asap while my roommate bought the PS3 version. So come mid to late August, when I return to my apartment for the next school term, I can load them up side by side and give detailed differences between the two if it is still needed. Either way a lot of people here who played the demo did so on the Wii version and had nothing bad to say about it. We have had many E3 vids as well of people playing the Wii version which all looked good graphically to me, so I don't think there is anything to worry about. Heck, one thing that surprised me is on of the videos that was posted in the past week or so was of the Wii version and it had some enemies lying dead on the floor after they were defeated. I wasn't expecting something like that in this kind of game, especially not the Wii version.

Well, thought if I donīt get to play as him, Iīll at least honor him, even if Iīm just a meager wanna-be-troll. ^_^

Well, the soonest we can count on some western (thus serious non-paid) reviews, if A) Some of the magazines import it...which I doubt or B) around early October, since they review games around 2 two weeks before itīs release most of the time.

Hmmm...we knew the graphics would be better on the PS3 and seeing as some said there are more grunts on the PS3 version at one time on the screen, itīs a bit of a difference in terms of gameplay. More guys to hack and smack means more combos.

BTW, I kinda miss the old days of CAPCOM games.
There were a lot of stories that had multiple secret bosses in them.

For example if you did a perfect in a certain stage youīd face some secret character.

Guess it wonīt happen, but it wouldīve been nice if Hisahide and Musashi wouldīve filled that purpose, seeing as they allready interrupted us once, seeing as there are some many branching paths...

Meh, gaming isnīt what it used to be. But since you get to see what the game offers you (thank you interent and your spills  ) youīll know if itīs worth buying or not.

...shoudīve done so with Spiderman: Web of Shadows...damn crappy game... <_<

And to answer your question about Nobunaga, since it's on topic, simply put: Kobayashi lied. I do recall him commenting that he, his gnarly crew, and a few others (Hideyoshi, Nagamasa) were dead. This was probably done to dissuade us fans from even putting him on the table until that iphone picture was posted a few weeks ago. He didn't hide it behind clever words or disguise him like he did with Mitsuhide. He just flat out lied to the fans.

That, my good fellow, is a troll. Koba is King of the Trolls. This is nothing short of truth.
Yeah, that was the reason I left the little angry post a couple of pages back. I'm still confused as to what would possess a game's director to outright lie to said game's fanbase, but I think I'm just putting salt on old wounds. I said I wouldn't be angry anymore if Nobunaga was badass, and MY GOD does he look badass.

Kobayashi is the producer, not the director. It's also not the first time he outright lied in an interview.

Back before the release of DMC4, he mentioned how Nero is in no way related to Dante or Vergil. Yeah, right.

Kobayashi is the producer, not the director.
This. This needs to be imprinted on some people's screens.

He obviously has a say in decisions, but he is not the sole person behind this game. In the end result Yamamoto will have had the most direct input on the product, Koba is just simply the most vocal.

Edit: And Ben corrects me. Regardless though, Yamamoto still has a large hand in overseeing how Koba's input is actually integrated into the game.

Honestly, this is up in the air. I personally find it more difficult to find Asian sites that release games online, but it does happen and it's usually the day of release or the day after. Pretty sure with SM3 it was the day before, actually...

Western sites usually get it a few days later than that because of travel time and all. So yeah, it depends but if you look hard enough you could probably find it within a day or two [either direction] from release.

Well, in all fairness this has been in the series since... SB2, I think? So yeah, nothing new here and the Wii is more powerful than the PS2 so I'd actually be very disappointed if this wasn't in the Wii version.

ANYWAY! Good to see the game get good scores. Even though I'm disappointed in SB3, I don't want it to fail or anything.

Oh dang, I don't really have anything else to say in this post, but I got to keep it from being spam...

I get the feeling we'll be seeing vids late Tuesday/early Wednesday, late wednesday at the latest (because the game will already be released in Japan by late Wednesday =P )

I don't know why people are placing stock in american/western reviews of all things...guess the DK review and all of the DW/SW reviews were just minor bumps in the system?

Buuut anyways. Pretty much just 7 days to go. Hopefully the store I'm gonna pick it up at will have it ready by as soon as the clock hits 12:00. :kurokan:

I bet you will get Nobunaga on the first day, lol.

Hey, I'm not that sad anymore, I can play of 4 out of my "BASARA 5". Yukimura, Masamune, Keiji, Mitsunari, and not His-.

But, this game is gonna be awesome. So only six more days to go!

Nope, as I said, not your known random game sites Hondam, but the trusted "private magazines" that arenīt funded by game companies, but rather with strange porn SMS advertisements (donīt ask  )

Again, our Austrian game magazine Consol.at is allways objective and well written.

I canīt say that for Gomitsu, IGN or any other major site that gets regular gifts from Sony, Nintendo and other companies :ph43r:

And as the producer Kobayashi is the guy who gets all the glory/beatings.

Same as George W. Bush. We all knew heīs a damn jerk, but he had advisors and they did nothing to help him. They are as much a jerk as the first "monkey president".

Same as Kobayashi. Heīs not at fault alone, but it would be too long of a list and too much reasearch to blame everyone, so itīs the easiest to just blame the main guy, who gets all the "fame" as Kobayashi probably likes to call it.

Heīs a jerk. Nothing changes that and no one can deny it.

Still he makes SB (or rather Tsuchi, since without his character designs it wouldīve just been some random Hackīn Slash try a la Chaos Legion...though I kinda liked that game...)

There is something that should be said though: Koba, as the producer of the game, stands to be the person who actually has the most say in a lot of things relating to the game itself.

At least on the Japanese side of things, producers of video games really serve to be the "boss" of the game itself, more so than the boss of the director and etc. For example, take Ono and SF4, and Niitsuma and TvC. In the end, the actual directors of the game (Takashi Tsukamoto, from Dimps, and Hidetoshi Ishizawa, respectively) don't have nearly as much say in the overall project as the producers themselves do.

So, whether you were pleased with the overall direction of SF4 and TvC or not, it had more to do with what the design policies that the producers had in mind. For example, Niitsuma was the very one who stated he hated what he called "overly complex control schemes", so therefore, that's why the button schemes for TvC (and MvC3 too, for that matter) were chosen. In that same light, Koba talking about how he wanted to "get rid of the gross aspects to appeal to more females" in DMC's case, is another example of the kind of control that Japanese producers have on.

BTW, is it somewhere confirmed that Nobunaga has a story mode?

Even if itīs a generic one...well...it was allways a generic one for him...but his ending video, were he blew up Osaka castle was just damn epic.

Also, we shouldnīt forget, thereīs still one spot open in the gameplay/features section.

I wonder what it is...I hope itīs about a new mode or something like that :ph43r:

EDIT:

And yes, Hondam and the rest of the staff do a great job.

I feared for the worst when Hondam became a mod, after hearing Necrosis-senseiīs calling on the apocalypse and you being a total tyrant...

You got me again, Necrosis-sensei :sly:

NDY, you have excellent taste in games my friend! Suikoden and Basara pretty much top my list as far as game series go.

I'm also interested in the storymode status of Nobunaga, hope he isn't free mode only.

Lastly, Yaaaay for my new Droid incredible! I can actually visit this site at work now. Also, thanks to the mods for taking care of the silly drama from some people.

Maybe it's "De-NPCify Everybody" mode. /laugh

I am somewhat concerned about the fact that everyone has different Gameplay "styles" intrinsic to them. Hopefully they're better balanced, or at least more obvious in how they're supposed to be used properly. I remember never using Motonari's traps in SB2 much even though I used him a lot, for instance.

Oh yeah, and the mod staff are doing a great job. Whoa, is there an echo in here, or what?
