I am somewhat concerned about the fact that everyone has different Gameplay "styles" intrinsic to them. Hopefully they're better balanced, or at least more obvious in how they're supposed to be used properly. I remember never using Motonari's traps in SB2 much even though I used him a lot, for instance.
I think they're all panning out to be very useful, intergral, and come together nicely. At least for the ones we know or can figure out anyway. Though on the other hand, Motonari's is sure to be his silly traps and I wholeheartedly agree with you on that. But for the others they seem great. Nothing game changing, yet they still add a lot to the characters.

My only concern is how these unique traits are gonna be applied to all the NPCs new & old, and the cut/dead/unknown people when they're all brought back. Hopefully this 'system' (if you could even call it that. It's more just an evolution in the gameplay if you ask me) becomes a trademark to the series, and every character will be able to benefit from it. It'd be such a shame for all the new playables of HEROES/4 to still be exactly how they were post/mid-SB3 while only the main cast of 3 still had them.

I think Motonari's traps are underrated. They were his most effective and strongest attacks he had. And they're even better in SB3. It just seems liked people just don't feel like taking the time to use them effectively.

^ I still think his melee skills were the most practical. In the time you had to take to set up all of his traps you could've already killed the enemies with even his basic attack string. Not to mention on higher difficulties it almost became risky. But, that's just how I feel so eh.

^ This.

With his personal item, he's invincable when laying traps. Haven't tested it yet, but his last skill, with the huge ring that closes for awesome combo and damage, should be a trap too. Makes him Immortal while charging, packing huge damage AND wrecking combo's.

There is one instance in SB2 where Motonari's hovering circular beam (don't know the names, I am JP illiterate) that pushes people back is the most useful things in the game. When Hondam is charging up on Mikatagahara (I think that's the stage) and he's sitting down, and you only have a short amount of time to defeat him before he powers up, just place a beam in him and it kills him so quick it's funny. It works with similar effectiveness on the Sengoku AT-AT's as I call them. But it's a lot of fun having two beams, both facing each other, as people bounce back and forth for about 15 seconds or until they all die. I use that and his spinning attack that resembles ensenka/shining fang from Tales of Vesperia. He splits his blade into two and it spins in front of him doing retarded combo counts.

And I remember him being immune to flinching, but he was still taking damage, while setting traps with his personal item. Which could be just as bad against some opponents.

Ah ok, thanks for telling. Guess I'll have to compensate that using some items.

Gotta agree with this. That and even though the closing ring dealt a lot of hits if couldn't be used in the middle of a combo string.
I think the only other non-ring strike skill of his I used was the "forced recruitment". If you caught the right enemy types, it could be really deadly. I once had four ninjas joining my cause and raped my way through Honnouji. It was also supremely useful against a shotgun-spamming Nobunaga.
If anything, I believe that Motonari is among those who will benefit the most from the 3-skill system. 1 for comboing, 1 for bosses if needed and 1 just for goofing off.
Sometimes the difficulty and specific situations/enemies usually forced one to stick to the same skill set with some characters. Besides Motonari, I think Oichi was the most clear case of this.
It may appear minor, but I think that extra skill slot will really improve the gameplay experience just because now we can take that one skill we love but was always highly impractical.

@Joetri10:
Spoiler: click to toggle

BTW, is it somewhere confirmed that Nobunaga has a story mode?

Even if it´s a generic one...well...it was allways a generic one for him...but his ending video, were he blew up Osaka castle was just damn epic.

Also, we shouldn´t forget, there´s still one spot open in the gameplay/features section.

I wonder what it is...I hope it´s about a new mode or something like that :ph43r:

EDIT:

And yes, Hondam and the rest of the staff do a great job.

I feared for the worst when Hondam became a mod, after hearing Necrosis-sensei´s calling on the apocalypse and you being a total tyrant...

You got me again, Necrosis-sensei :sly:
Ok thank you for that.. Im not the best at spelling when i rush/don’t care..

And before you turn into more of an a*shole.. Sports are not just games.. Don’t even pair them together again.. And what does music have to do with anything..

People may take things to heart.. but they should at least pm the conversation when its going to cause problems or its off topic.. (or even make an new topic for it, like the complaints one)..

Religion is important, i understand.. Ok.. but lets not get me started on a subject like that..

Those f-codes i have are the only 3 games i actually have for the wii!!.. Sorry if im looking for some friends on there.. but you certainly know how to make them.. and nice spoiler tag..

Maybe next time.. I wont try to keep the peace so guys like you can continue posting..

But he started it Hondam :(
I even put it in spoilers... :ph43r:

Anyways thanks to a certain someone...don´t want to name someone Ultimate Legend...NDY and I got reminded we still had work to do

Here´s the "Character Preview" English Subbed:

Also, updated the video thread with all the videos I got from you, UL.
If anyone sees something that misses, just post it in there, I´ll put it on the first site.

Hmmm...will we get Nobunaga´s video as our next update? If so, NDY, we have more work...

Since things have calmed down a bit, I'll slink back in to the conversation. Missed the worst of it, it seems. :ph43r:

I gave in and pre-ordered the asian version from yesasia with express shipping, and though it says it will be shipped on the release date I doubt I'll get it until a week later at the very least, particularly living in the UK. The English version is also ordered. I can't believe there's only a week left. After all this waiting, the rage, the tears, the good times... makes me all sentimental. Blazblue (the first one as I arrived late to the fandom) will keep me going until then.

Also, another thing, would it be wise for me to avoid the forum until I get the game myself, in case of spoilers? Or can I rest assured that everything will be tagged or withheld? :/

I can speak for Hondam, NDY and such that they won´t spoil something, only those who want to be spoiled.

But for every other one...well, I guess Hondam will keep "spillers" in check, since we saw what happens when someone spoils someone a movie or a game

*Points at his made "Fake Subs" video*

@DK & NDY-

I'm pretty sure he's saying さわん 左腕 Sawan and 働き はたらき Hataraki. Sawan meaning [Hideyoshi's] Left hand (as Hanbei would be the right) and Hataraki meaning either function or work, which is a little hard to paraphrase into a better english word in this context. Basically saying "Have you witnessed it?! The work [function/role/job/work/whatever] of Hideyoshi's Left Hand, Ishida Mitsunari!!" I dunno, makes sense to me-

「見たか?! 秀吉様の左腕、石田三成の働きを!」

@Koen- Yeah, no need to avoid the forum. I'll make sure to enforce a no-spoilers policy for the first few weeks, or even month, and have a separate thread where people can state things openly for those interested.

MH,
Thanks for the subbed video.
Ichi can give me hugs anytime. *gets splattered into the ground by darkness hands* It was worth it!!

Koen,
Now that you mention it...I must confess I'm getting rather nostalgic.

On to serious business - I imagine the spoilers and secrets will be reserved for their own thread?
I admit there are a couple of things I'd like to know beforehand. Nothing too fancy, just how to unlock Oichi and Yoshitsugu and if all the characters share the same number of skills or if it's still the same "sons and stepsons" system of the prequels.

BTW, I kinda miss the old days of CAPCOM games.
There were a lot of stories that had multiple secret bosses in them.

For example if you did a perfect in a certain stage you´d face some secret character.
old days?SFIV&SSFIV has gouken,SFIV has gouki jumping from the bushes.....they've been doing the gouki thing a bit too often but hey,at least its not an "old days" game........

as for motosunday, his melee skills are quite unimpressive compared to his traps, just like matsu, methinks the only less useful trap move that he has is his first one(the light mines/bombs),his other traps works insanely effective against almost anything,if you equipped his PI that is.....
Spoiler: click to toggle

hmm,a few days left before D day,how many of you will get the wii version? :kurokan:
