looks like there is not reason to wait for the American version after that interview.
Of course there is! We need to support the localization if we want online! Kobatroll promised us!...

...

Not like he's ever gone back on his promises.

@ Rob:

I don't know Rob, there's always the slight chance they'll edit the footage and put it on the youtube channel, but I doubt it.

http://www.youtube.com/user/CapcomUnityVideos

There's their youtube channel if you're curious to see any of their stuff, but a lot of it is MVC3. We weren't able to get an answer if BASARA was getting rep in that.

I missed watching him squirm when put up on the spot... then again, I don't trust a single word that comes out of his mouth. That lying little troll... I'll be waiting for the expansion. As if they'll pass up the chance to get more money...

I guess like BlackKite something happened and I missed it.But,why is Kubo a troll?

And back at BASARA,yeah for the assuring silence and negativity on the matter of Heroes.Knowing that,I'll sit and wait a bit for a year and tada!Hereos is out.

DId anyone ask him if we will ever get a proper BASARA game for the PSP instead of the "Battle Heroes 2" or something along those lines?

So the only new news that was confirmed during the interview was that there is no dual audio support, Hisahide is not in SB3, and the difficulty settings.

The lack of DLC and no online co-op were already confirmed at E3. The expansion question would obviously be ignored since the game hasn't been released and normally expansions are planned when the game has been deemed successful. So just keep your fingers crossed that it sells well in both Japan and NA/EU.

Ah, shame I missed this, i would've asked about Musashi. But at least we got some answers, even if it is hard to trust anything Kobapii says.

Koba and Kubo ought to be friends and co-conspirators :sly:

I was kicked out for asking this:
@Kobayashi: For the next installments, do you plan to make a "past story"-title? There was an artwork with a young Nobunaga afterall. How did he become the demon king? Why did Hideyoshi kill Nene?
Would be an interesting story.

And lol @ Kobayashi being surprised that we know about japanese history.
You Sir, know too much! I suggest you keep a gun under your pillow for the next few nights, because I get the idea they gonna target those spilling any "unnecessary information".

Anyway, thanks for taking our concerns up to The Man and thanks for brief summary.
Also, thanks to AdawgDaFAB, KA, WT and anyone else I might have missed for being our diligent "spokespeople". You all did a great job!

Putting the trollness aside, I do feel somewhat offended that Kobayashi thinks the Western fans are so freakin' dumb they wouldn't know anything about the Sengoku Jidai or even the bloody updates on the Japanese site.

- As for the dual audio, it was a space issue. So it was the Wii DVD afterall.

Which is funny seeing as how he even has the Japanese site at the bottom of the SH sites.

Bleach. Not going to get into much detail since it's off topic so I'll leave it at that.

Looks like I'm today's board killer. <_<

OK, I missed the interview, sad face. The Hisahide thing really scares me.
If the game does well, which it probably will, we'll get an expansion. Good news.

Well, I guess this confirms that the members who talk about BASARA on the KW board know the most about it, who aren't Japanese. :o GOOD JOB GUYS! And, me, I guess. :o

NOBODY ASKED ABOUT A DMC5. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :kurokan: :kurokan: :kurokan: :kurokan: :kurokan: :kurokan:

I.......missed.....my only chance.......until.......forever............ :kurokan:

Here are a few videos that I took at E3. I forget all about them after that massive update-fest with all the KOEI games. Quality sucks a bit, but you get the picture.

Mitsunari gameplay E3 footage

Character Selection Screen E3 footage
Thanks for these. I like how they have the Individual Game Completion % shown for each character and how they show the map/boss/win/lose stipulations when picking a stage. Also, the character select looks kinda like SW3's :XD.

Also watching that video reminded me to ask you this:
I heard Naked Arms playing faintly in the background during several E3 videos now. You were there in person, so was it the original Japanese version playing or the English version that was revealed by the track listing for the CD single?

Well xxxBBxxx it was an interview about SB afterall.

They ignored most of the SB related stuff and even avoided questions about SB related stuff in relation with, say, Marvel vs. CAPCOM 3.

So they would´ve just gone on or even would´ve kicked you out of the chat if you asked too much about DMC5.

I only asked if we´d see the past stories of some of the characters in future installments and was kicked out after asking it the fourth time

Overall that interview didn´t give much insight or new stuff seeing as Kobayashi avoided most of the important questions (or left out the important parts), talked around how surprised he is, people in Europe/America/around the world have internet and actually use it, as well as knowing something about japan (holy mother of...even I didn´t know that :OMG: ) and just told us what we allready knew.

So if you missed it, you didn´t miss anything groundbreaking, just a guy, talking his way out of most of the difficult questions and doing his usual interview stuff. -_-

Thanks for the fast reply Jsun and now I wonder why TMR did an English version of the song then. I had figured Capcom had asked him to make it for SB:SH.

I did a write up about the interview for another forum so I figured I might as well post it here too.

Spoiler tagged for those who already read about it / saw it.

Well summarized, I couldn't have put it better myself if I was being neutral.

So there you have it, guys. Kobatroll did that lil' interview, literally stole the audio and ran off.

Oh, and you forgot to mention his little Masamune doodle. Was funny. I wish I screencapped it.

Oh yeah I did forget about that, it was funny. Hopefully they take a picture of the whole card after it is signed by all the Capcom people there, since they are giving it away on the Capcom Unity website and all.

Oh yeah, I loved the little doodle he made. It looked like a little Pikachu with Masamune's swords and helmet. It was cute. :hehe:

AdawgDaFAB,
Thanks for your write up. Very interesting read.
I think "Ogre" is the common translation for "Oni", because of their massive bulk and short wits, the Japanese Oni usually finds association with the Western Ogre. I think the Onimusha series do that as well.
And I totally see why he identifies the most with Masamune - they're both total jerks, after all. :P

- Third question was about Dual Audio and they basically blamed the Wii version for lack of DA saying it was a disc space issue, but they would love to have DA in a future title.
This little tidbit, if said in good faith, gives me hopes. Hopes for future Basara titles, to be made, to be made properly and to be brought here.

Originally they were going to make 30+ characters but realized they didn't have enough time so they focused on the ones that we got.

Interesting little interview. But I still gotta wonder why he acts so surprised that people outside of Japan know about BASARA, and can stay up to date with it. Wasn't it tengumaru who basically asked him about BASARA at TGS a year or so ago? :hehe:

Get with it, Koba. I know you like playing around with us, but don't act like we're silly gaijin who know nothing. :hehe:

This may be a little off topic, but for people who were wondering about Sengoku Basara's reputation in Marvel vs Capcom 3, according to people who were watching the stream earlier, Nitsuma laughed when he was asked about Sengoku Basara characters. He didn't deny that they could be in the game unlike Rival Schools or Power Stone, so that could be a good sign. =)

Kobayashi also got a big laugh outta it. One of the questions was "Would you like to see one of your characters in a fighting game?". He instantly realized that he was being asked something regarding MvC3, and said "Dante's already in. You guys want more?"

Still, in regards to SB representation in MvC3, I like that they're joking around but not saying anything definite. It keeps the options open.

Dante being in that game is absolutely amazing. I mean, I'm being that game because he's in it. If he wasn't, it would seem like some run-of-the-mill fighting game. Deadpool is cool too. But nothing to Dante.

On-topic. Er, 30+ characters, originally. That means there could've been:

17. Matsunaga Hisahide
18. Takenaka Hanbei
19.Tenkai
20.Kasuga
21. Uesugi Kenshin
22.Takeda Shingen
23. Azai Nagamasa
24. New female
25. New female
26.New character(male/female)
27 New character(male/female)
28. Kennyo
29. Katakura Kojuuro
30. Noae Kanetsugu
Over 30? Could of been 31.......
31. Sarutobi Sasuke

Just a side note, when you type the main site in, it will bring you to a page before that, with the box art on it. You can click on this little yellow box, on the bottom of the picture of the box art. It's a pic of the four main posterboys, but it doesn't appear that they are about to fight eachother. More like, fighting together. :?:

WHY WAS SASUKE LAST?! *cue lolworthy angry face plz?*

Sasuke would be in over Kennyo, I'm glad one of my faves is a yaoi favourite. ^_^ Not something you would normally hear but, ehhh, who cares? If it influences him getting into the game, I'm all for it. Besides, no Basara character is free from yaoi, there are all kinds of fetishesm even ol man.

But back to the whole what could have been thing, would you really want all those characters? It would mean no improvements to the gameplay, sorry, but I ratehr them take their time and flesh everyone out now to make the game origional, than have lots of characters that aren't different from the last installement.

sheesh typing is difficult for me tonight, forgive any grammatical or spelling errors :kurokan:

Kennyo and Nagamasa in over Sasuke? Over the fujoshis' dead bodies.

And I still think it's funny as hell that there's such a demand for Hanbei yet so much other characters keep getting flak for "supposed to be dead."

And I'm with Lawliet on this. 30+ characters would've been sweet, but at the cost of everything else the series finally introduced, namely the gameplay changes? Would much rather take a low roster than have a big one crowded with either lame characters or a bunch of 2-skillers.

That isn't to say I wouldn't mind more than just the 16 we have now, but def not some huge number if it meant skimping out on everything else. 20 would've been the absolute best imo.
