It is said, "it is insanity to try the same thing again, and expect a different result". Therefore, unless Capcom IS insane, they shouldn't try the whole Devil Kings foolishness again. They spent more money on the whole process to turn BASARA into "Devil Kings", and didn't get much in the way of return favor. Besides, Funimation is already slated to release a dubbed version of the anime, which will have no changes beyond being dubbed into English. This is the opportunity that Capcom has, if they want to give the series a clean slate in the States, the anime and the third game. |

@ Krat: The TGS is located at the Makuhari Messe Hall (Makuhari, prefecture of Chiba) but it's really close to Tokyo. Official site: http://www.m-messe.co.jp/en/index.html You'll be there?? Awesome! I'm going Sunday the 27th, it'd be great if we could meet up or something! |

After posting in the SB Grinding topic, I got some ideas. Like DarkDante I don't like how SB gives you weapons / armors and items. Specifically the items. over 100 items in the games, and them all being random it takes a long time to get all of the items. Too long for me. I think they should make it easier. Besides the amount of skills allowed (Which seems to be fixed), and restriction on Co-Op (Which needs to be improved. Most of the stages were unplayable in SB2:H Co-Op due to Free Mode being 1P only.), that's basically the only big problem with the game. One thing I am wondering about is what new troops are they going to add. They added a large number of new troops in the game and gave a lot of variety to normal soldiers which they seemed to be inspired from DK (Just not as crazy). Maybe add other elemental ninjas? They more unique officers similar to the Gohan Yari and Miyoshi Trio (Add Date Shigezane and Oniniwa Tsunamoto to make the Date Trio?). I hope they give some of the "non important characters" (Kennyo, Yoshimoto, ect.) more skills. Not like SBBH where all they were were stupid projectile attacks which many others had giving Musashi a clone weaker clone of his Basara. This is something quite a few suffered in SB2:H. |

Considering that we'll (hopefully) have some 36-40 characters to play with, that abundance of items might not be such a hassle... 40 characters means 40 story modes...and that's at least 200 stages (if they keep the 5-stage system of SB2) Plus 4-5 stages per character in conquest mode...and we go to 400 (if they leave it untouched, of course) That's a lot of chances to get items...so I think thay don't need to touch the number, but just the way you obtain them...the RNG is far too *****y sometimes. Also, check this spoiler for a shameless plug :ph43r::ph43r::ph43r:Spoiler: click to toggle

Ugh... I guess I really need to filter the news until there is confirmation straight from the source. This is what happens when one anticipates something too much. Anyway, sorry guys. The Capcom TGS site has been updated, adding SB3 to the showlist.... but only in the form of promotion videos and talkshow. Seems like there's no playable demo up there. Dunno if this will turn away our inside agents... But anyway, Kobayashi promises a lot of new informations in the talkshow, so maybe they would want to attend the event to translate the things said there? Beware of possible fujoshi flock though. Anyway, the site's updated with Masamune's voice and even many more event screenshots. Oh, and @Makishima, very nice pal, please do more of them. If possible Aniki's story next after finishing Kotaro. www

Ah well, atleast we'll get some new info. Although i'm a tad suprised. I would have thought Capcom would have jumped at chance to compete with Koei at the TGS It seems they're getting pretty desperate for new screenshots on the site aswell... Though, the one where Masamune confronts the "defeated" Yukimura is new. Secretly, I was hoping that they'd show a new character, like they did with Sasuke... Oh well, the TGS is not too long away. Also, Masamune sounds as badass as ever. EDIT: Cheers Makishima, nicely done. I look foward to more if your up for the challenge

I've already bought the TGS ticket, so of course I'm going! I'll try to translate as much as I can, but I feel Tengumaru has more chances to do a better job... Anyway...Ghost Trick, the new Exe game, and Okamiden will all have a playable demo...why not Basara??? Kobayashi likes the hype game too much... |

Well, the upgraded TVC won't have a playable demo either despite the first TVC already released long ago. A thing I noticed though is that Rockman EXE OSS will only have stage show in the main booth but playable in the kids booth? Perhaps you'll have to be a kid in order to play it? wwww |

Because Devil Kings totally bombed. It also did many things wrong in my eyes, such as turning playable characters into non-playable characters, giving the game a generic story, unlike BASARA which focuses on the Sengoku period and it also gave the characters horribly cheesy names In my opinionBut theres still is a chance for it. Funimation has gotten hold of the anime and is giving it a English release. So who knows, If the anime does well, it maybe released outside of Japan. But yeah, this subject has been brought up too many times Edited by Manta Punk, Thu Sep 10, 2009 12:41 pm.

I definitely can't say I disagree with those fallacies. I can see why it was a disappointment, but I just know they can redeem themselves, and I hope they see that too ![]() And sorry for bringing up something that is too commonly talked about, geez you guys are unforgiving on the Basara boards

Just as expected, articles on Masamune & Yukimura have just appeared on game news sites. http://www.4gamer.net/games/094/G009450/20090911005/ The graphics look better as we see newer pics, wow. ![]() Anyway at this rate I know how they will handle next week's update. After updating the site with Yukimura's voice on Thursday, they're gonna distribute the article on Masamune & Yukimura's skills as well as detailed screenshots on Friday. ![]() Then after that, Capcom will think it's finally time to reveal brand-new informations, either in the Famitsu leak the week after and/or TGS. |

...and that's why koei shouldn't have gone with the wii. This game looks unbelievably amazing. There's almost no difference between the CG cuts and the in-game graphics. |

Not really. It's just that somebody always asks the question practically every page. Sorry if I came off as a jerk, it wasn't my intention. And WOW at those screenshots. Nice find BK. The first Yukimura one is outstanding graphics wise. This game is really impressing me so far. Less than two weeks to go.

I think these are from the PS3 version, so I don't think we should start saying that Capcom's owning Koei in the graphics department just yet. Wouldn't surprise me if they did though. They have super mouth opening technology now. |

I believe Krat's post is pretty much based on the fact these screens are from the ps3 version. Obviously gotta go with the prettier version of something if you're gonna market it. But still the game looks far nicer than any of Koei's more recent projects. |

While definitely looking nice...I dunno. This still doesn't look like anything the PS3 could be pushing at its utmost, which makes me believe that the theory going around about how the Wii is the base version is probably true. Still DOES look very pretty though. Just like Monster Hunter 3. And definitely more than anything Koei's done on even the PS3 themselves... |

After KOF XII and DW6 making some attempts to overhaul their systems but coming up a bit short in content, I don't know if I'd personally complain too much if Basara 3 kept the technology and visuals fairly steady and put the time into move animations, characters, maps and all the other fan service, I think I could live with a game like that at the moment. Nothing but speculation of course, it could well be that getting it to run on the PS3 at all is giving them enough trouble going by the performance of some games. Uhm, huh? I think you misread my post? SB3's graphics (based on these PS3 screens) = why koei shouldn't have picked the wii for SM3- it greatly pales in comparison graphics wise. |

Thing is, though, the Wii has NOTHING to do with Koei's own laziness. Koei wanted to basically take the same PS2 engine, upscale it a bit for the Wii, and said "GG". That's their prerogative, and we'll have to deal with it. If Capcom had done something similar with MH3, where that game looked exactly like the PS2 MHs, then yeah, Capcom would have to be called out on laziness too. Thankfully, they did not do any such thing. So, again, I don't see why there's still a thing where people see Wii as some vastly inferior console. Yes, it's not a HD console, but it's not like it's a PS2, either. It only some times gets games of that graphical quality, because the likes of Koei and Namco-Bandai are usually content to treat the system in such a way. |

Agreed. The Wii can be up there with the best of them if the developers are willing to dedicate time and effort to it. Games like Super Mario Galaxy show off what the Wii can really do. Too bad developers of certain games know that the Wii largely appeals to the 'casual' crowd who don't really give a rat's ass about the graphics and only play it for its motion sensor gimmick. Thus certain companies abuse this and make half-assed games that they know will sell well, but put little to no effort in them. This makes the Wii look bad to the 'hardcore' group and some people can't help but moan about it. But it's not the Wii's fault. It's the lazy ass developers fault for making it look bad That said though, i'm really happy SB3 is out for the PS3 aswell as I sold my Wii to my little cousin last month ... lol.

I agree with Ben. These screens are by no means spectacular compared to some of the other games I've seen for the PS3 (GoW3, MGS4, Uncharted 2, etc.). That's not to say it looks bad in any way, but I'm still trying to reserve judgment until we see some Wii screens for comparison. That said, as long as it runs in at least 720p I'll be more than happy. We recently bought a 46" Samsung 120hz 1080p compatible LCD TV (mouthful ) and SB2/H (the Wii versions) look like absolute **** on it. So with that said, I'm also hoping for at least 480p on SM3, otherwise it's going to be such a chore to play.
