Backpedaling about those "cut" characters is what he's doing. He was just try to mindscrew everyone at first like a dirty poor man's Kojima, and now he doesn't want to get killed for possibly cutting (random TGS goer)'s fave character (insert character name here). I'm even betting Shingen shows up in Yukimura's final story stage to either go out fighting or to have recovered from sickness.

TL;DR
I bet nobody (important) is cut and Kobayashi is being a dirty skank, and realized he shouldn't do that because obessive fans will GANK AND SHANK him quicker than Hojuu Nue can be drop dead sexxxy.
I hope you're right. Also, I'd be shocked to hear that there's a bigger fanbase for personality-less Shingen over Nobunaga, Ranmaru, Nou, and Mitsuhide -- there's more hope for those 4 if he's in.
LOL @ Shingen being "personality-less". He's actually a fair bit more complex that cardboard cut-outs like Nobunaga and Ranmaru (The Demon King might be cool, but he's pretty repetitive...)

I'm eager to know the final word of these cuts...let's hope he backpedals like hell, like necrosis said. (BTW, nice Marley av)

shingen?i'm sure he'll at least appear in yuki's ending,no SB is complete without yukimura getting shingen punch~ed to the atmosphere at the end...

btw IIRC shingen has shown signs of sickness in SB1 right?maybe it finally catches up with him....

So this games getting ported in English? Awesome. I enjoyed the first Devil Kings so the next should be pretty fun.

One thing I'd like to know though, will they be making it like Devil Kings and change all the names and places and released as Devil Kings 2 or will it keep the Japanese origin and be called something different? Or do we even know that much yet?
well, the title is already sengoku BASARA:samurai heroes in the US(READ the title),what makes you think its going to be DK2?

for all we care the only change would likely be *GASP* reversed names,so yeah,be prepared to see some masamune date and yukimura sanada and some great rage from BK for the NA version........
Heh, yeah I have a bad feeling about this. Even though the guys at Capcom-Unity are starting to get it right, they used to 'screw up' big time at Onimusha. I'm not too optimistic here either. -_-
But well, in case the worst happens, I already have our Wiki as a safe haven. :sly:

Anyway, report from the people who attended the SB3 event today. The contents in the event are basically the same as the business days. The revelation of the new characters should start next month.

Speaking of which, next week's Thursday is already next month. Here's impatiently hoping there will be info next week. :P

Hmm, so we won't get any new info until next month?
Thats a shame. I wanted teh shadowed character ( ) to be shown at the TGS...
Ah well, it's like you said BK. Next Thursday is next month, so I'm sure we'll get something. I mean, what can they really update on the site now?
More of the same event pictures we've seen, just with the characters in different poses?

C'mon Capcom, give me Yoshitsugu (T.T)

Wait the TGS is over?

That´s it?

And we didn´t even see the shadowed character...and no release date, or at least release month... :hmmm:

Well I´m happy with what we got...but why do I have this feeling of something missing? :/

There's still tomorrow but they've probably shown what they wanted to show. Maybe we'll see shadow dude in the weeks to come ;) (I was expecting someone new though >_>)

Must say though, the TGS trailer was badass, especially when Mitsunari was screaming: IEYASUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! It sent shivers down my spine :o

I forgot, did they announce his VA? Whomever it is deserves a cookie, I think. I really hope that when it comes to America they can have both the original Japanese and English dub, because I'm really liking those voices. Not that Devil Kings had a bad cast... just... okay, good voice actors, really BAD lines and game. It had Garry Chalk in it, anything with him is guaranteed win right there!

Though, if there's no Nobunaga, then maybe no Garry. Oh well.

I'll be keeping an eye on this game on our reservation list; chances are I'll be the only one at our store that'll get this game. It's already bad enough I dissuaded customers from DK; now it's going to be fun to try and convince them that SB3 is NOT the same. :XD I love my job.

Seki Tomokazu, the Japanese Domon Kasshu  (That must be why he's so good at screaming :hehe: )

I'm hoping they keep the Japanese voices in the localised versions, I might be swayed to buy that version then :shifty:

Same here.

I´d buy the english version only, but we all know the JAP version is coming out first and the ENG version may not feature the original voices.

So in that matter I´m buying the J-version to play it first and have some fun hearing IEEYAAASUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! and then buy&play the english version to understand what this game is all about :P

And I´m still thinking that CAPCOM will add some around-the-world-known-CAPCOM-bonus-character since they´ve allmost allways done something in their games that came over from japan to NA/EU.

Oh, BTW, what did Mitsunari ask Ieyasu at the end of the character trailer? And what did Ieyasu answer...it really pissed of Mitsunari :D

My guess is that Mitsunari asked him, why he did it.

Well, I'm getting the JP version. I've waited too damn long for this game, plus it just wouldn't feel right playing BASARA without all the Japanese text :XD

Not to say I won't buy "Samurai Heroes" as well, but they are a few conditions if Capcom wants my support. The only way I'd buy "Samurai Heroes" is if, like most of you, they implement the Japanese seiyuus. I mean, the seiyuus are obviously famous in Japan and to us, who've imported all installments, gotten used to the awesomeness of the seiyuu's and made BASARA slightly blossom in the West, we deserve that much.

Although, I doubt Capcom really pay any attention to us, seeing as though we're a really small group :XD

But, even if they don't throw in the JP voices, I'd still buy it as long as they keep the names in proper Japanese order. No doubt BK has rubbed off on me, but everytime I play SW, I cringe when names are thrown about like Masamune Date and Yukimura Sanada...

So yeah, give me Japanese voices and/or proper Japanese name orders and I'll bite...

Well, i would have bought the JAP version, but now with the ENG version, its unlikely, why? Because i'm fourteen and my dad is in charge, and he HATES buying things that are made outside the country, it was so hard to convince him to let ME buy SB2, yeah, and i was buying it in the first place <_< so i doubt i could convince him again when a english version is coming out.

And i can't lie to him because he will reasearch every page og google to find every bit of info he can on the game so he knows i'm not lying about a JAP only release, he would find out about the english version, so thats all out of the question.

SO if the game has the seiyuus or not, i will be buying it, but, what a bonus it would be to have the seiyuus, i rather have them then proper name order, why? because in with the seiyuus, they will still speak the names correctly, it will just read diferently :hehe:

If I were you, find a friend who'd be willing to order for you and is reliable. Though make sure they're not loan sharks. If the game comes with preorder bonuses, that might be more helpful. I got a friend who's willing to chip in if I split bonus stuff with her. Which tends to work very well with Koei stuff cause of the treasure box sets.

I've dealt with that sort of situation before and my friends got me through most of it. Though now I can order stuff myself but I still gotta ship it to their addresses cause I got family who looks way too much into my business. gotta switch over my bank statements to electronic distribution so they can stop reading it.

Hehhehheh, looks like I finally managed to influence someone here. >:]

Anyway, from what I've seen further from 2ch posts, apparently Capcom might be planning to reveal characters in a monthly basis. So I've been calculating, if they keep introducing a character per week at the site non-stop, if the game is to be out in March 2010, then we could have at most 28 characters in the game.

Woah, If a character is released every week, this board won't run out of things to discuss :sly:

This is great news, if it turns out to be true. I mean, that dry streak after Capcom announced the game was pretty harsh (T.T)

So that means we'll be getting a character this week, eh?
I have a feeling it'll be either Tadakaaaatsu (although, I suppose I can't call him that anymore, seeing as Takechiyo is all grown up) or Mr. Shadow *cough*, then we'll most likely get Sasuke and Kojuurou for the remaining of October.

EDIT: Thanks for pointing out my mistake Daosiying ^.^:
Ugh, sorry for that. Nobbish mistake -.-
The odd thing is that I've always spelt Kojuurou with a "U" instead of a "I"... Guess I wasn't thinking

Just need to point it out, KoJUUrou. Not Sasaki Kojiro. Katakura Kojuurou.

As for character unveils, for certain Its gotta be at least one of those 3 to show up next. Though I get the feeling Yoshiaki will show up rather soon thanks to that leak regarding his seiyuu.

The dialogue between Mitsunari and Ieyasu was more or less like this:

Mitsunari: Ieyasu!!!! I won't let you have anything...because you took my everything!!!

Ieyasu: For the bonds I carry, I cannot lose to you, Mitsunari!

Mitsunari: You, who snatched my bonds, dare talking of their strength?? Filthy hypocrite!!!

Ieyasu: I shall bring peace to the country with the strength of bonds!!

Mitsunari: Ieyasu....Ieyasu....IEYASUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!

Mitsunari made a nice question...but anyway he easily overcomes Kasuga and Yukimura in adoration towards one's lord....(well ok, maybe Kasuga matches him...)

Well, even if i do get it without my dad noticing, he would eventually notice im playing a game with Japenese voices and writing, i could lie to him telling him its an option but then he would want me to prove it by changing it back to ENG, he is smart, i tell ya, theres no way of doing it secretly, unless i only play BASARA when he isn't around, but that would be way too much of a pain, i would only be able to play like for a couple minuets, it just wouldn't work...

and if they do release a character a week, then we would only have about 28 chracters? well, thats seems like a bit of a low number IMO :/ and it depends on how many get cut, its too much for right now (im stiull rooting for 15+ characters -_- )

One thing I noticed in the gameplay is that the combos don't seem to go away right after you do a BASARA anymore. I looked at the Ieyasu and Mitsunari vids again and I noticed that even after they finished the BASARA, their combos were still there so it looks like they improved that.

I hope so, because if it dosen't, they might just give up, which would leave a lot of fans having to import and those that can't won't be able to play it.

The first update we had was four characters.

If you count in four character+skills per week and some screenshots/infos/etc and the next week their voices and their BASARA and some screensots/infos/etc it´d be pefect.

Since now, that we still don´t have a proper release date, till late march(again worst case release scenario) it´s around 27 weeks.

If I´m right the next update will be Sasuke, Kojuuro, Tadakatsu and Yoshitsugu (them being the best friends/guardians/right hands/eyes of the characters we allready know)

And if I´m further right, they´ll keep the three "old characters" and one new character updates.

If we count that 10 characters are cut(there are 6 fix cut characters and maybe 4 more, just in case) 21 "old characters".

If the overall character roster is around 32 it´d mean 11 new characters. If it´s around 36, it´d mean 15 new charaters.

So 21 minus three (Masamune, Yukimura and Ieyasu) and 11/15 - one(Mitsunari) means 18 old characters are left and 10/14 new ones are left.

So if you divide 18 old characters with 3 per update it´d mean 6 weeks and with one new character means it leaves 10/14 - 6 = 4/8 new characters.

So there could be weeks with new characters only, probably those characters that stand alone, like Mogami, Tachibana, Saika, Sasaki, etc.(of course if they are added)

This would mean all in all around 7/8 weeks with character updates and double that since it´s allmost allways characters and then their BASARA/voice, etc. so it´d be around 14/16 weeks.

Then you can count in after the character updates or in between around 10 weeks with other updates like items, costumes, stages, videos, modes, new gameplay mechanics, online capabilities and shortly before the release some more advertising and other things, other infos, etc...

So we´d have around 24/26 weeks full of updates. And that´s only if it´s released in late March.

So if it´s released earlier their might be even more infos every update.

But, the point is, all in all, they won´t update one character per week, since they´ve allways announced all the characters that are in BASARA before it´s release. And if they only update one, even two characters per week, they´d run out of time.

So again, my bet goes to four characters per character update. :P

Oh, BTW, when is the next BASARA related event, it´s the interview with Motochika´s VA...right?

Oh, BTW, when is the next BASARA related event, it´s the interview with Motochika´s VA...right?
The earliest next event will be a talkshow held at a Sengoku festival in Kyoto on 4 October, featuring Ieyasu's seiyuu Ookawa-san.
The next event will be another talkshow in Kochi, Shikoku on 7 November, that's the one which will feature Aniki's seiyuu.

Hmm, I have this feeling that the Motos will be announced on November's character batch then. :shifty:

But anyway, with Capcom seems to be promising to focus on each character this time, perhaps even though there may be at least 28 characters, all of them should have deep movesets and lots of skills now. Well, quality over quantity here it seems. :)

Thats exactly how I'm feeling on the whole situation.
Sure, we don't get as many characters as we did in SB2:H but we will get a decent enough amount, each with more depth and perhaps more skills than the past games, plus we'll be seeing them in sweet HD :sly:

I'm also thinking Kennyo won't return, despite Magoichi's inclusion. Lets think about it, he isn't the most popular character and was killed off so early in the anime. The fangirls will be angry that he got in and Mitsuhide was left out, plus his "death" may add more depth to Magoichi and if more depth for the characters is what Kobayashi wants, I can see Kennyo not making it... Plus his space could make room for a more "likable" characters that the fujoshi could get a hold of.

I also want to, again, comment on Ieyasu's gameplay video. As I've already stated, it seems the character animations are top-notch. I noticed when Sasuke used his BASARA on Ieyasu and his "stumbling" movements looked realistic and amazing. Capcom definitely haven't got lazy on this.

Whao, DK, math!

Well, if your right, 32 characters sounds great to me!

But, also, it depends how many characters are cut, the more characters cut, the more new characters i want to see, so if 6 characters are cut, i would want to see about 10 or so new characters, but if 8 are cut, i would want to see about 12 new characters, you see where im coming from? i hope so because i don't want to come off as selfish or greedy. -_-

But, how many characters exactly do we expect to get cut? its 8 right?

The great DK, will do some math again :D

So we surely know now that some people are cut.

The first cross stands for the one Nobunaga killed off: Yoshimoto.

Next we have one cross. Since we have heard that Shinen might not be dead, just ill, it means Nagamasa, who died in this year too...

The four other cross...3 others have died with Nobunaga. Those will probably be Ranmaru, Noh and Mitsuhide.

Sanda Yukimura is confirmed.
Date Masamune is confirmed.
Katakura Kojuuro is confirmed.
Sarutobi Sasuke is confirmed.
Mōri Motonari is confirmed.
Chōsokabe Motochika is confirmed.
Togkugawa Ieyasu is confiremd.
Honda Tadakatsu is confirmed.

So we have 8 characters returning. And 6 characters cut. Means we allready know the fate of at least 14 characters. Leaving 17 characters.

Characters who are most likely to return(I´ll state reasons later):

Shimazu Yoshihiro
Miyamoto Musashi
Maeda Keiji
Meada Toshiie
Matsu
Kasuga
Fuma Kotaro

Shimazu Yoshihiro had not only a big part in Sekigahara, no, this would be a good opportunity to finally give him a deep and really good story. Same for Musashi. The battle of Sekigahara + Kojiro...
Maeda Keiji was Hideyoshi´s ex-best friend, a posterboy and had a major role in the SB anime. He might fight against Ieyasu because of his past with Hideyoshi...
Maeda Toshiie and Matsu, also had some slapstick stories. But this battle will surely affect them too. It´s time for them to show the true power of the Maeda house and there´s no better way then to do that in Sekigahara. Even though Toshiie wasn´t around, the Maeda were. And those two would be more than enough to represent them in BASARA.
Last but not least, Kasuga and Kotaro. Even though we don´t know, what happend to their "masters", but Kasuga wouldn´t just dissapear(I mean although it´s a fangirl game, there are a lot of male players too and she´s liked by the girls too) and Kotaro could take another "leader"...that shouldn´t be a problem to have a silent murder machine implemented into this grand battle scenario.

So what about the last 10 characters? We´d have 20 old characters returning, counting in the fact that dozens(a dozen means 12 or more if I remember right) of new characters...would mean around 32+ characters in total.

That leaves us with...well not really, since there are those, we´re just not sure and those who would be more than out of place:

Itsuki
Zabii
Hongan-ji Kennyo

Kennyo was never really liked that much, was killed off fast in the anime and had a clone moveset. The other character who had a clone moveset was Ieyasu and he was revamped. Maybe comes back as Kosa and gets a revamp too but...it´s unlikely.
Itsuki...well...now with the Date and Mogami, the north can stand on it´s own. And I don´t know if the likes of Nobunaga and Noh are cut...why leave her? She´s just a side-story character. In times of Sekigahara I don´t think a villager rebellion is that important. Since everyone is at war...who has time to look at that little girl? Though she might have grown and now is a strong women that just wants to stop all this fighting becuase the people are suffering...we´ll see.
Zabii...meh. Well. Meh. Again...such imporant characters being cut and then...having LOVE and BELIEVING in? Meh.

Oichi
Toyotomi Hideoyshi
Takenaka Hanbei
Hojo Ujimasa
Uesegi Kenshin
Takeda Shingen

Those characters really depend on one thing: Is everything after the rebellion, or will we play the rebellion. If we´ll see the rebellion of Ieyasu, it´d mean that Kenshin, Shingen, Ujimasa and Oichi will have more than enough story possibilities(especially if Katsuie is added, for Oichi)...and also the dynamic Toyotomi duo would still be around of course.

And at last:

Matsunaga Hisahide

He´s such a cool character. He could be responsible for everything. Setting up Hideyoshi´s strife for power...maybe he wanted all this to happen? Maybe he has another story, seeding chaos and destruction, so the world can be rebuilt, everything will be taken and can be taken, it´s a circle in life, it´s a rule in his world. Everything has to burn, to rebuild it anew, out of the ashes.

So even if it´s my predictions are based on...well some facts and infos, but mostly on my opinion...but one thing is for sure there are at least 20 old characters returning(since their chances are more than high)

It might be that only those 6 characters "that have been crossed out" are cut and there will be 25 returning characters...

There´s the possibility that Hideyoshi´s alive and thus Hanbei, Shingen, Kenshin, Ujimasa, Oichi are alive too.

Only time will tell, but I can say one thing for sure. We´ll have a 32+ character roster. I just know it. If CAPCOM says a dozen new characters plus the old characters. Yes...a 32+ character roster.
