Well at last, sometimes you got the feeling that Masamune was some unstoppable force in the SB universe. Mitsunari and Ieyasu are (and rightly so) the focus of attention in SB3 anyway. Now hopefully Motochika and Motonari get bigger roles in the story as well... |

About Hideyoshi's doom being Mitsunari's opening....that still doesn't rule out Hideyoshi being in the game as a PC. After all, just look at the same man in his Musou Debut. Mitsunari's opening cutscene is him and Hideyoshi going to Yamazaki because Nobunaga's dead, but Nobby was still in the game as a PC. Just no where in Mitsunari's story. : P Kobayashi, likely trying to just mislead everyone. I hope. > : | |

Don't forget Shimazu. Yoshihiro never seems to get much attention. I'd like to see how they'll show Keiji in this game as apparently, Hideyoshi might not be in the game.

Ah how could I forget the Devil Shimazu?? You know what his somewhat 'tame' rivalry with Tadakatsu may actually make some sense now.. We will have to wait and see. As for Keiji, he seems to have gone under the radar a bit, which is surprising given his popularity and his 100% confirmed appearence. I said it a few pages back, but there's some chance he will have a rivalry with Mogami Yoshiaki? after all his most famous deed in battle was against the Mogami... |

I dunno if it's just me but I'd rather see them ditch the rivalry between him and Hondam. It was kinda cool in SB1, where it was actually somewhat obvious they were rivals, but it fell off after that. I'd much rather see Hondam get a worthy rival in SB3 *coughmuneshigecough* |

It pays to visit GameFAQs. Usually translations and other info are posted there. While on that subject, why isn't there a "Sengoku BASARA Guides" section? Oboro's translations can be put there. |

That's what I'm hoping as well. Even if the likes of Hideyoshi and Hanbei get relegated to the "back-burner" where they don't get as much clout any more, I STILL want them there. Any way....good stuff all around. Thanks for sharing details as always, BK and Maki.

Well, then again the commander position in the Takeda army is now seated by Yukimura, so it's natural for Sasuke to address him as 'general' now. Anyway, this week's a total Gomitsu since it focuses on the handheld games that were out at TGS. Next week's will be a post-TGS coverage too, but wonder if it'll be more focused on console games. Which could mean I may be getting very busy next week. ^.^;; |

Well since there is Online co-op it would be pretty odd if there wasn't offline co-op, so i think its safe to say its in, but im not sure if its been confirmed or not. |

well, this game is a short beat em up,that usually takes about 5~10 minutes or so to beat a stage and the area that you fight in are not as "useful" or detailed as NGS2(you cannot interact with the BG such as wall jumping, climbing or running) so its safe to say its not too restraining to have am offline coop for it,plus the previous game had offline coop so why can't it now? and btw,you say you play "this" together all the time?err, the game is not out yet>.< |

^ You know what I meant for playing it with my girlfriend, I was talking about Heroes. Well there are some games such as that, that had offline co op, then went to not having offline co op with more techniques and moves than Ninja Gaiden. Tenchu Anyone? Tenchu Z doesnt have offline co op, just online, unless you system link, which pretty much is the same thing as online but without the use of internet. This is only one of the many games like this. Yeah Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 has an interactive environment, but I'm willing to bet Basara 3 will take more out of the system due to everything happening at once, than Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Maybe the thought, was with offline co op, the screen would look mushed together and sloppy. I really hope offline co op is for this game, though I know there is a what, 90 percent chance of that? But the possibilities of it not being in it is still there. |

I'd like to think that next week's ish may have a nice sized preview for the Hokuto no Ken game....whatever it stands to be. ![]() I know most people are expecting a Musou title of some sort, but I still wonder if maybe we might stand to get surprised. After all, I'd like to think that, with the success that Sega obtained with their HnK fighter years back, what if Koei Tecmo thought the time was right for them to try their own hand at a HnK fighter? The DOA part of Team Ninja has been quite for a while now, and I'd imagine that any further work on the likes of DOA5 or etc. may have been thrown for a loop after Itagaki and a number of his loyalists left Team Ninja. Maybe a Team Ninja HnK fighter would be just the kind of thing to really get them back up to speed... Besides...would they really be willing to market yet ANOTHER Musou game? I mean, we got Strikeforce, Sengoku Musou 3 coming out in a few weeks basically, we got that Troy game, and we got that Zill game, which might as well be a Musou game masquerading under a "Action RPG" context. I know Musou games are one of the main things we expect when "Koei" is a part of the mix. But since Tecmo's part of the equation now, I just wonder... |

LOL, they updated the site with a news that would be too amusing to miss. ![]() The Miyagi prefectural governor election will have SB3 Masamune as the appealing mascot. http://www.capcom.co.jp/basara/gotochi_info.html http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1228242_1124.html It is also said that in near future there will be also some tie-up relations in Shiraishi city (Kojuurou's hometown) and in Kochi, Shikoku. |

Heh, thats pretty awesome. I wasn't expecting the site to be updated with anything apart from screen shots... Any way, a little off-topic, but has anyone noticed Bayonetta, the heroin of Sega's new game, looks like somebody Tsuchibayashi might have designed? I did some research and it turns out the designer is Mari Shimazaki. I've been gandering at some of the early concept art for the game and Shimazaki's style is really similar to Tsuchi's, not just in the 'fashion' side of it, but also the way he paints... Glad to see his style is becoming more popular. And speaking of Tsuchibayashi, when about do we normally get to see his art work? I'm not expecting anything at the moment with just 4 characters announced, but do get a glimpse of it before the game is released? |

Well as far as I know, it´s KOEI made. The Takeda and the Uesugi became allies after the death of Shingen...though the Sanada became a strong and independent clan themselves...there might have been some friendly contact between Yukiumra and Kanetsugu once. And after all they fought all on the same side at the battle of Sekigahara and might have met a few times before... The only thing I know is that Hideyoshi treated Yukimura well and that´s one of his reasons for joining Mitsunari... In SB3? We´ll have yet to see Kanetsugu and to know if Kenshin´s alive or not... As for Yukimura, what I can tell is that Mitsunari "rescues" Yukimura from Masamune(if I´m right) and he might feel sorry for Yukimura. Afterall he lost his master too and now has to take over and lead the army himself(though Shingen´s not dead...hmmm...maybe Ieyasu defeated Shingen and that weakened him, so that´s why Mitsunari can convince Yukimura somehow that it was Ieyasu´s fault, that Shingen got sick). Maybe that´s why Mitsunari is helping out Yukimura. Well, we´ll see, but one thing is for sure, it won´t be a three musketeer friend story... |

Koei didn't make it up. NHK's Taiga Dramas portray this relationship as well, so it's a popular belief about these guys, whether or not it was completely true. It's like how people think Nagashino was entirely about guns beating cavalry, when that was only the opening exchange. The battle was really won by fresh Oda troops defeating the outnumbered Takeda with superior maneuvers. But the popular version of Nagashino is what most people know. |

well,HnK is a pretty elusive franchise,SEGA made a brilliant game(its actually ASW though,i wonder why they can't do the same with SBX,its fells a bit inferior compared to SEGA's HnK),but it only lasts for one single game.. if KT holdings want to make this as their new flagship, whatever the genre be,they better be productive, there's nothing more disappointing than becoming a fan for a certain game and was expecting a great sequel from that company but before you know it the franchise already moved into another console/company with a totally different playstyle don't forget UNDEAD KNIGHTS>.<,must have that one>.< its brilliant to have such comical promo for a gory and a bit "horror" themed game IMO,plus i just love hilarious games |
