So wait, when's the next update? Everyone's saying Jan. 7, but all that is is the revealing of Kenshin and Kasuga's voices. And like I've stated before, Capcom's still has one TGS thing to stall us; the Yukimura vid I mentioned before. And next week ain't Christmas yet, so seeing an update then wouldn't be THAT out of the ordinary. What do you think?

I know I sound impatient, and I'm sorry. The last game that I waited for like this was SSBB. And waiting for SSBB was so much easier, with the weekdaily (lol) updates. But can't expect that from this game; they don't have as much to stall with as Nintendo did. But it should be worth it. America and Europe gets an unbutchered overseas version and I get to play it. Yay.

No, but if you mod the game, you can make it region free. You can google about it or ask some of the members here if you're interested. ^_^

Judging from what we know so far... the new characters are there to replace the ones that have been cut. Mitsunari being kenshin's replacement, Mago being nobu and no's replacement. We need a replacement for Mitsuhide, kasuga etc now.

Well you can PM some people like Wenze and Tetsuo9999. They could probably help you as they've done it themselves.

Gracia could be a good replacement for Mitsuhide. Dunno about Kasuga. I wouldn't be surprised if we get DLC or Heroes that'll make all the NPCs playable judging by how its going.

Thank you.

And I agree with the replacing thing. THey need to either make Kasuga and Kenshin DLC right fast or need to add characters with somewhat similar movesets.

Well it feels better to already have the stuff on the disc. DLC is truly a double edged sword =(

I'm just wondering if DLC characters in a hack-n-slash can even work. KOEI's expansions showed that they were willing to avoid DLC, and due to its differences to the main franchise, I am not counting DW:SF. Capcom does look like they're still into expansions with SSF4, but then again, it's a fighting game; to add one character, you have to add new hitboxes to every other character. Maybe a hack-n-slash is different, and maybe they could get away with DLC. I dunno. Anyone able to clarify?

EDIT: @ecklinage: I do agree. DLC in the form of patches (a la TF2) or new campaigns (a la GTA4) are acceptable in my book. But for something like a character or a map? I'd buy it, but I'd still feel a little jipped thinking that I'm just spending more money.

It really depends on how they choose to work it. If the movesets are all already done, then all that's necessary is to "unlock" it.

But I doubt that much is the case. I'm thinking the chars are NPC, for the sake that they'll be re-added in the expansion, and the NPCs likely don't have complete move sets.

And again, personally, I think the expansion disc is the better deal.

Would I rather pay 30-40 bucks tops for a guaranteed package of new stages, characters, scenarios and play modes, or let them divvy each part separately for like 5-15 bucks each?

Nah. Give me my physical medium disc.

I like the idea of an expansion disc. I would definitely prefer a hard copy. But even so, they will have to put alot of crap to justify it being 30-40 dollars(just an example).

Wow, you actually prefer the expansion disks over the DLC? I'm not argueing with ya, and I don't disagree (to some extent), but I've never seen anyone support expansions. People love DLC alot nowadays.

Personally, if a company's gonna be expecting me to buy expansions, it better sell them at retail price. I ain't paying full price for what's nothing more than added-on content. The fact that Capcom's own SSF4 is selling at retail price shows that they at least understand that concept.

Oh, and I would like it if it would just read the memory on the system. I don't want to go through the whole disk-swap thing, and I'd at least have the option of selling the original if I want to.

If I did pay $40 I'd better be getting more than a few characters and their stories with one or two new battlefields.

Same. If you're gonna put that little content, then stick with DLC. Use the expansion disk once you've got enough added characters and maps to make it worthwhile.

Not everybody. And certainly not me.

Last year's MM9, to me, represents everything that's wrong about the practice. The original game, straight from WW/PSN/LA was marketed for 10 bucks. Now pay upwards of 10 bucks more to unlock the content that's ALREADY on the original program. It's asinine.

Why should I have to pay for content that's already on the program/disc? It's one of the things I've hated about this generation of gaming.

This isn't to say that the expansion idea is perfect either. But at least with the expansion disc, I'm pretty much guaranteed to be paying for new/revamped content. The "Street Fighter II Turbo" compared to "Street Fighter 2", if you will.

Well, assuming Capcom does indeed go the "HEROES" route again, that much should be expected. And if they did follow in the same line as SB2 HEROES before it, it will be great stuff.

But maybe it's just not that much of a problem, in my eyes. Compared to when they actually charged full price for "updates" back in the day, 20-39.99 certainly isn't all that bad.

I agree wholeheartedly with Ben here. I honestly can't understand how anyone would like DLC...this kind of mentality will only encourage companies to offer less and less with main games and just add more and more DLC...until every game becomes like FFIV the After Years, I bet.

The expansion disks like SB2H are annoying too...but DLC is like going from bad to worse IMHO. What is my console isn't connected to the Internet?

If you really have to do it, leave it for optional stuff, (like extra costumes in ToV) not characters...

By the way, what would happen if two people play co-op online, one with a DLed character that the other guy doesn't have? Wouldn't the game crash for the latter?

Just a random doubt...

Anyway, the Jump Festa is next week...and you can bet I'm going, now that there's even a demo!!! Well, I always wanted to go at least once.... There are lots of people from 2ch that will go, but I'm sure you'd like an English-speaking reporter, huh?

So anyway, if there's anything in particular you want to know just ask, and I'll make a memo of it.

If the demo's gonna have the 4 main chars selectable, I think I'll start with Mitsunari and Ieyasu (I don't know how many times I'll be able to play, but if I can I'll try with Masamune and Yukimura too).

I agree with you...even for countrys like mine, that Internet is not very expensive but it COST High anyways and the speed it's not really good and you still have to PAID fro the DLC content...when i already paid for the game...WHY I HAVE TO DO THIS????... :realangry:

A DEMO is Coming??? Sweet...i hope it get out before the end of the year....this could Calm our little dissapointemts.... :hehe:

It had been announced about a month or so ago that they would release a demo and the Jump Festa. I just hope that demo will be released on PSN and the Wii since I really want to play something new. SB2 is getting repetitive now.

 WOOOOOOW
she looks even better than I thought!! "Do ya feel lucky... well do ya PUNK?" dirty harry style i'm liking Mago even more now.

Replacing the characters that WILL NOT come back is a good idea but Repacing the NPC'S isn't after all their only on holiday, they will return but if they return to find there spot taken then what will they do and the overall gameplay will suffer, i'm still just as pissed off that Kasuga  is gone but this is capcom they can whip up good lookin new characters faster than a drive by!! :OMG:

JUST LOOK AT MAGO!! :)

EDIT: oh and i forgot to mention Kenshin and Kasuga look EPIC!! :OMG: their faces have so much detail their both so pretty lol

It's like that in the old games. When the hits get up so quickly, it takes a bit to go to the next levels.
True, but I just found it weird they caught it at that exact moment, where the phrase was lagging.

Anyway, thanks for the shots GuanPing. Heh, that 2nd Mago pic is bad ass. I'm seriously looking foward to the CGI scenes, especially since thier being done by the Anime team. By the way, where did you find them? I was hoping a Keiji CGI render would crop up soon, but I haven't come across one...

Oh, NDY is going to the Jump Fest? You lucky lucky man.
Hmm, if you wouldn't mind, would try and give us a better description of what Mitsunari's and Yukimura's Unique Characteristics are? I mean, does Mitsunari's mean hes just the fastest playable character, or will there be a certain thing to trigger his speed...
