is Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires actually pretty hard to get your head around? It's the first Empires game I have ever played and I don't understand what the hell to do. It is really confusing. I have been watching wonderpierrots videos, and he makes the game look so awesome, but I don't even know where to start. |

It took me quite a bit of playing to "get" Things. I actually hated it at first because of it. So don't let that discourage you, it's plenty fun once you learn. But to answer yeah, I do think it has a much higher learning curve than past titles. |

I don't even know where to start, with a custom character or not. I ended up moving to different areas on the maps each month, then I went to events, did something there, joined someone, left someone, moved again and got a battle eventually. |

Stay in a territory with that has all 4 upgrades (Store, Forge, Training, Horses). It's much easier to level up and get everything this way. You can always move around later to join a force. |

Yeah, it took me awhile to get the hang of the whole thing which was bit annoying because I am so use to these games and the fact that I actually died a few times already helped me catch on lol. |

Should I start with a custom character? I'm gonna attempt the game again now. |

Just dont face Meng Huo when hes berserk (when he rallies for a suprise attack) Bastid 2 shotted me lol But I suggest you do the vagrant missions first. Get ya some friends. Get some nice buffs like setting first base you walk into on fire (without needing cards) Find your favorite leader, start as a low officer, keep doin the mercenary missions and skip the assignments except for defense and invasions. |

I sometimes (usually when someone wants to pay with me) start as a ruler, and instantly step down with the 4 officers xD quick and easy. As for me starting, I usually start as an officer and hang out in Luo Yang (Luo Yang is the only territory with Storse, Stable, Forge, and Training) and do mercenary missions for a while and tehn join up with someone. If you are in teh service of someone who has a land under their control with Forge, they will eventually level up your weapon for you, giving you a chance to focus on your friends. (your friends wont get upgrades from teh leader, only you) |

I think it confused most everyone on their first trys I can't speak for anyone else here of course, but when I first played it, I was 100% LOST How do I invade?? How do I recruit?! Where did renbu go!!? No alternate weapons??!?! WTF are these mercenary mission things!?! Cards? How many of these things are there? What the heck do they do?! After a couple days of playing however, I feel it's safe to say I finally got the hang of this game. It doesnt really take that long to master really, just a couple of runs through empire mode and that should do it there. =] |

I'm quite lost too. And i played more or less all the Dynasty/Samurai warriors/empires/xtreme legends since DW4 and i don't remember feel so confused. What exactly the objective when you are in officer mode? I begin the game some hours ago and my Ruler don't looks very interested in unify china, i change my lord and is more or less the same, the seasons pass and nothing happens. Must i continuing being and officer till the end of times or at some point begins a great war? Or there is a way of accelerate the process? Thanks. |

here comes the mighty mark simo to the rescue!! just kidding When you play as an officer, you're job is to serve under a ruler you can't choose where or when to invade when the war council comes up, your ruler will give you a mission, which will either involve defending of conquering territory. the mercenary mission are kinda like side mission to earn exp and extra gold you access these missions by going to battle on the main screen, then selecting either one of the two missions you can also earn friends by completing these missions friends act as bodyguards in battle Hope this helps |

This is almost precisely how I felt. xD I did learn how to invade though, the painful way... by inadvertently invading a ruler's land on my very first round. Needless to say, I got crushed pretty quick and learnt my lesson well.
