Right, as much as I've tried to bear with it so far, this is getting too much now. Almost every single character has some severe issues with the collision on their attacks, with the "weapon streak" as such appearing way off course or not appearing until the animation has already finished. While it wasn't too much of a bother at first (only horse attacks, throws, and the occasional air attack seemed to be affected), my recent uses of SSX (mentioned in another thread), Guan Yu and Meng Huo are really taking the biscuit. After the first 3 or 4 attacks of Guan Yu's Normal string, his next 8 or so attacks seem to only have an extremely small "hitting area", so to speak, which is generally somewhere to the side of his head. His Power string is even worse, with every attack aside from the first and last having a similarly small attack area. Using the Falcon skill with Guan Yu appears to do no damage whatsoever. On the other hand, Meng Huo starts off with a couple of hits in his Normal attack string hitting behind him, leaving everyone in front untouched (and I know for a fact this isn't right, since I've seen a much larger collision area in Youtube gameplay videos). Considering how slow his attack string is, it leaves a good few seconds for nearby enemies to get in some free hits without me being able to strike back. The main reason for creating this thread is to find out if these - and similar - problems are widespread, or if the majority of issues are just down to me owning a faulty copy (this being the case, I'll take it back and hope for a new disc). Thanks for any help. ------------------------------- As suggested, here's a compiled list of all the problems mentioned so far, as well as a couple of alterations based on issues that I hadn't yet mentioned (issues that may be classed as simple cosmetic changes from previous versions of DW6 won't be included). As a whole, something that classes as "faulty" below will generally mean that the attack in question does not connect or cause damage to the enemy in the way intended. The majority of problems listed appear to only be found in the PAL PS3 version of the game: "Heavier" characters (Jerky attack animations) Halberd/Polearm Generics (Many faulty attacks) Cao Ren - and perhaps clones (Many faulty attacks) Zhou Tai - and perhaps clones (Many faulty attacks) Xu Chu - and perhaps clones (Faulty Strong Grapple) Sun Quan - and perhaps clones (Faulty Charge attacks, faulty Strong Grapple, faulty Mounted Charge) Pang Tong - and also clones (Faulty Jump Charge) Zhang Liao (Several faulty attacks, Phantom Hand has no effect, faulty Mounted attacks, faulty Deadlock Win) Sima Yi (Faulty Strong Charge attack, partially faulty Charge attacks, missing "strings" on Musou finisher [although damage is still caused], Phantom Hand has no effect) Lu Bu (Faulty Musou finisher, partially faulty Charge attacks) SSX (Many faulty attacks, faulty Strong Grapple, Phantom Hand has no effect) Guan Yu (Many faulty attacks, faulty Mounted attacks) Meng Huo (Many faulty attacks) Ma Chao (Many faulty attacks, faulty Grapples) Zhou Yu (Missing flames on Musou finisher, partially faulty Charge attacks) Yue Ying (Partially faulty Charge attacks, faulty Mounted Charge, faulty Deadlock Win) Zhuge Liang (Faulty Jump Charge, faulty Jump attack) Liu Bei (Faulty Musou finisher, faulty Strong Grapple, faulty Mounted Charge, faulty Deadlock Win) Zhang Fei (Partially faulty Musou attack) Zhang He (Faulty Strong Grapple, faulty Mounted Charge) Ling Tong (Faulty Mounted attacks) Cao Pi (Faulty Strong Grapple) Gan Ning (Faulty Mounted Charge) Lu Xun (Faulty Strong Grapple) Cao Cao (Faulty Strong Grapple, faulty Mounted Charge) Diao Chan (Off-centre whirlwinds, Phantom Hand has no effect) Zhen Ji (Off-centre whirlwinds, Phantom Hand has no effect) Dian Wei (Phantom Hand has no effect) Xiahou Dun (Faulty Strong Grapple) Xu Huang (Weak Grapple does no damage, faulty Mounted Charge) Sun Jian (Weak Grapple does no damage, faulty Mounted Charge, incorrect base captured quote) Sun Ce (Partially faulty Strong Grapple) If I've missed anything out, put something that's a little inaccurate, or you've found something that nobody else has mentioned yet - let me know and I'll edit the list.

Well, after a quick trip to the game shop this morning...I was told that there have been a ton of complaints about the game, and that a patch is in the works. I can't say I've heard anything about this myself, but I hope he's right...

I've been playing as Liu Bei and i've notice his Strong grapple completely misses, doing no damage. Yue Ying's mounted charge fires out the back of her weapon aswell. I seriously hope KOEI releases some sort of patch to fix these errors >.< |

Wow, some serious issues here. I haven't bought the game yet (Was planning to buy it friday), but after hearing this I should consider the case... If the patch comes out quick enough, then I'll go for it. |

Yep, I've noticed that one myself too. At least every other attack in her arsenal seems to work properly (apart from her deadlock win, which seems to have only about a 25% chance of causing damage to the enemy). Oh, and Zhang He's strong grapple doesn't seem to connect either (does anyone's strong grapple work?).

Very weird O_o So far I havent had a single problem with anyone's moveset. True, I've only used about half the roster, but so far I haven't had any problems with either movesets or grapples. I have noticed though, it seems to be harder to do a grapple then it was in DW6. Weird. |

Not for me. Anyway, I've tried about 15 characters in total now, and they all have problems (ranging from major to minor). Also, after finding nothing about a patch on the Internet, I'm starting to suspect the guy at the shop only said that to keep his sale. I'm going to pick up a new copy of the game today regardless of what anyone there tries to tell me, and I'll see how that goes down.

I have yet to run into any of the problems you guys have talked about. I do have a theory about some things though. It seems like they took some of the effects of PS2 version and put them in this one. If you can't tell then play DW6 the play DW6E. I have noticed that Diao chans first Tornado doesn't follow her anymore but that does not bother me since it still works well. The end of Yue Ying's charge when she jumps in the air and shoots a blast needs to be changed back to a Fire tornado like in the PS2 verison. The new Verison seems to miss and not really take damage when it hits. The weapons are not standard either since they have no extra range. Blocking from the back has been removed which makes me counter less since I tend to get hit more. Its not really bad though since I can see why they did it. Hmmmm maybe I do have a few issues. Didn't notice till I started typing. I'll let you guys know if something else pops up. Until then

Well, I'm officially annoyed now. Not only does this 2nd copy of the game has exactly the same problems as the 1st, but they refuse to give me a refund because I'm apparently the only person who has complained (which I believe to now be about as truthful as that comment about the patch). So there were go, unless someone manages to sort something out, that's £25 down the drain. I do hope someone at least announces the existence of a real patch in development, before I have to go through any more actions. Edited by Spike, Jul 1 2009, 11:10 AM.

I did consider that it may have been a problem with my PS3 (which I bought from and use within the UK) or possibly even my TV, but I don't really know much about it. Either way, I finally managed to get permission for a refund after a number of phone calls, so that's cheered me up a little. Perhaps I'll pick it up again for a cheaper price sometime in the future if a patch is ever released (and if not...that means no MOZ or DW6E for me ).

Hummm... I haven't had any real moveset problems yet either o_O! The only problem is Zhou Yu's absolutely useless range and being annoyingly (and surprisingly) slow, but I think he was that rubbish in DW6 anyway. |

It seems to only be the PAL version of the game affected by this, the NA and Japanese versions seem to not have these problems...

Yeah it could be just the PS3. I've seen a few now, but none have been more obvious than Zhuge Liang's JC doing nothing. And I've noticed it feels much harder to pull off a grabble attack, it just feels that the enemy need to be extremely close to you for it to work. I mean like literally hugging you. Now that you mention it, horse charges seem to be garbage. At the time I just thought that was to do with just the character, though. |

I noticed Sima Yi's Power Attack hits only the enemies behind him. He doesn't hit anything in front. I've also noticed Yue Ying's move issues (Horseback, deadlock attack), but that was already known. And it would be very disappointing if only PAL version had the problems. EU get's the game last of all, and for the effort of waiting, we get junk full of bugs. There better be an update for this. Edit: I also remembered Liu Bei's Musou Ending (When he swirls his swords around) doesn't hit anything. Edited by strategist_jeffo, Jul 4 2009, 10:52 AM.

Really MAN. I Have the same thing going on (prior to PS3 braking). This is mad, I wonder how some have it and other players do not. Maybe were just unlucky ones to get the game, faulty players. If I were to list all the chracters with moveset issues it would be. All Halberd Generics (Charge attacks, only some hitting left and right characters) Big Sword Characters (many faulty attacks and grapples are impossibe). Meng Huo (only certain directions) Cao Pi (Strong grapple is impossible) Staff characters (No Jump Charge) Lu Bu (Musou end hits nothing) These are only some of the faulty movesets in the game. Anybody have any information please write back .

This is the ONLY thing so far re: moveset issues that I have had, and from what I remember of DW6, his musou end has always been trash (also, is it just me or does he look like he's just messing about? XD). I did get to hit Guan Yu with it about 3 times though during one battle, hooray :O The only real issue is charge grapples taking too long, I always get kicked before I've managed it... but I think that's my fault ![]() I have the 360 ver. btw. |

Aside from Lu Bu (whose Musou finisher seems to work fine for me), I've experienced all of the other problems mentioned there. Here's a few more I seem to remember: Zhou Tai - and perhaps clones (Many faulty attacks) Xu Chu - and perhaps clones (Faulty "club swing" at the end of Strong(?) grapple) Zhen Ji - and perhaps clones (Off-centre whirlwinds) Lu Bu (Partially faulty Charge attacks) Zhou Yu (Missing flames on Musou finisher) Sima Yi (Phantom Hand appears to have no effect) Perhaps people could post which version of the game they own (EU, US, JP) so that we could try to determine whether or not it's an EU-only problem after all?
