I prefer OSX. It has a much cleaner interface and design than any Windows based operating system (yes, including Windows 7). Every Windows program I've ever used so far that has a Mac equivalent has been better on a Mac (including Office, which is just plain hilarious). Sure there are the occasional, and I emphasize occasional, programs that don't have a Mac equivalent, but you can work around them with Bootcamp or VMs. Though I'd recommend against the latter... I am rather disappointed about the lack of support for Computer Games, however Apple is doing an increasingly better job of getting bigger name games compatible for their system, including Age of Empires III, The Sims 3, Spore, etc. And of course, Blizzard games go without saying. [NOTE: this argument is based entirely upon operating systems. If you were talking about hardware then it's always best to just build your own and install whichever operating system you like best.] |

I used to have a PC, which worked well at the time, but now I have a Mac, and I prefer it more than a PC. It's just easier for me to use, and sometimes easier to download stuff, or use applications. But that's just my opinion.

There should be a both option Cause Ive always had a pc and im fine with it, And I use Norton security, so no internet problems except for it just sometimes stops working and I have to close and re-open. But that doesnt do anything to my internet or computer, its just annoying when it happens is all.So im perfectly fine with my PC, and ive loved having Vista with it. But im considering after I get home from my mission to switch to Mac. Depends how they fair when that time comes around, viruses might not be a problem now, but I doubt Macs getting away scott free forever. |

I prefer Macs. I like the user interface and graphic design more. I like the ease of use more. I like the way it arranges files and folders more. I like the way you don't need to worry about viruses. I like the way programs rarely crash. I even like the design of the computers themselves, how neat and compact they are. Unfortunately, my old computer died, and I can't afford another Mac at the moment, so I'm currently on a PC. :| |

MAC MAC MAC MAC MAC MAAAAAAAACCCCCCC!!! <3 Words cannot possible describe how amazing a Macbook Pro is. But I'll try. Let's see... sleek silver sexiness, widescreen, light up keyboard, everything is oriented towards the left side of the window (close, minimize, etc) for a lefty!, LOW RISK OF VIRUSES, runs smoothly, built in speech recognition software, etc. etc. etc. they're just so GREAT. Now, if you're a GAMER, PC is the way to go I suppose. But I don't game on computers, so Mac works our great for me. You get used to Apple Click instead of having a left click. Now I'm confused when I'm on PC's. |

I really love the PC, but I am just dying to use Final Cut Pro. Good thing I get a free Mac for a week in 2 weeks for film editing. If I like it I may just have to get a Mac on the side. |

I really don't have much of an opinion. I use a PC at home and Macs at school. Neither of them give me any problems. My sister has a Mac laptop for college and I think its pretty nice. I'd need a bit more time on it though to form a better opinion. I would know from the school Macs if we had more time to play around with them. I don't know computers all that well. We've had a lot of problems lately with this computer so I'm not sure if thats PCs fault or not.

Well, it is depending on what you do in the computer. Macs are mainly for casual use and for movie making/editing. Pc is for daily use and gaming. I'd prefer PC if you are just going to browse sites. Mac, is more reliable. ( Customer Service ) Less crashes |

I've had two PCs that were pieces of ...junk. The first one was Windows ME, the screen acquired some malfunction and became pink. Killed my eyesight. So my dad gave it away. The second was an XP, sucked even worse - not even a year's passing and it was already constantly shutting down/freezing on me (screen turning into an array of different-colored vertical lines). My parents bought an XP which died frequently, too; same with my uncle - died last year, actually. I ended up switching to Mac in 2008. The first time it was kind of confusing, since I was transitioning from Windows, but since I am a learner by nature, I started to get the hang of it pretty quickly. My parents ended up buying a macbook and so did my uncle - it was funny, because they made fun of my macbook at first. Oh, the irony. And a plus is Macs very rarely get viruses. Oh, and you can even run Windows XP/Vista/7/etc. as a parallel on your Macs! Yeah, imo, Macs are much better if you can live without playing high-graphics games. There's no way for me to choose Mac. I chose PC, why? For beginner and advanced user -More well organised (refresh button) -Easier to use if already used PC since child -Can install many programs and games -Actually, it's safer, for ourself and other people, if the owner is care to install anti virus -Different choices of style For maniacs and experts -Can be modified and stuff Why not Mac? They say Mac is vulnerable to viruses. The fact is YES, actually it's not for other people. Viruses were made for Windows operation system, in simple thought, it won't work in Mac since the OS is different. Then, if Mac user has virus in his/her Mac, they wouldn't know and the Mac will become virus den. The one who will caught the virus is the other Windows user when transferring data and stuff. I also don't like Mac because it's not well organised. The desktop and folder can be very messy with files spread out everywhere. Then, if I use Photoshop in Mac, it makes me confuse since the background is the desktop. Also, Mac needs programs and games that compatible for it. Really not universal. And many more things I don't like from Mac. For me, PC still the best. I'm not a computer expert, though. But I love PC, and I use it everyday. It's my everything. I prefer Macs. I like the idea of a Unix-based operating system that, more or less, Just Works(tm) in the ways that I require it to. For instance, my scanner worked directly with Apple's intuitive Image Capture utility and I didn't have to use the clunky software provided by the manufacturer. For the most part, applications are self-contained in bundles. Uninstalling is normally a matter of dragging one icon to the trash - no leftover whack-a-mole required. When I upgraded to a new computer, Apple's migration utility moved all of my settings and such over without any fuss or muss on my part. OS X has an elegance and polish to its interface design that I appreciate - and miss on other platforms. For example, keyboard shortcuts tend to be comprehensive and consistent within applications following Apple's user interface guidelines. They follow mnemonics rather than the grab bag of function keys and randomness that I see in some Windows applications that would be excellent if not for their shortcut selection. Spotlight is a fantastic, speedy search for everything from text to metadata. I custom tag images so I can Spotlight them in various configurations when I want drawing reference, specific characters, etc. Automator has to be seen to be believed. ![]() If I do want to use a Windows-only application, that's what Parallels is for. Best of both worlds.
