After the many battles and campaigns I've played in DW6:E I've noticed one thing, some officers are more reliable than others and getting things done e.g capturing bases, killing officers, protecting allied officers/you etc. In my experiences it seems like Zhang Liao, Zhang He and Yue Jin have consistently been officers that I've sought out to join my army. I've never experienced any AI bugs where they won't follow orders, plus I've grown somehow attached to them. However, I've also noticed on the flip side the officers such as Diao Chan and Lu Bu (surprise surpise) continually fail to follow orders and defect during battles. So, I've been wondering have any of you had the same experiences? |

Lu Bu has betrayed me before so it makes me think there may be a hidden "loyalty gauge" which makes characters with more honourable personalities are less likely to defect. |

I have noticed how I was able to get generic officers to kill off Zhang Liao for me while other officers like Sun Quan has been able to capture bases for me and Taishi Ci has always been one of those officers that been able to kill off enemies for me in these games. As to others failing to take orders and defecting, I had that with Diao Chan already. That stupid uggo left with a few of my men making my ruler Quan have less officers in his employment afterwards. >_> And Zhou Yu isn't great at following orders when wanted him to protect Xiao Qiao during battle once because she got routed eventually LOL. |

Diao Chan keeps taking half of my force away and leaves the country, never to find her again. I usually dismiss her when she gets in my army. As for other reliable stuff... They always seem to die. I sent my 2 CAW and Xiahou Dun on Chen Lin (Generic) and all three died because of him. He had no morale boost or inspired troops, nor did he put fires on bases and surprise attacked my supply base. I'll just let them stalk me to gain levels, or just let them defend Main/Supply camp. |

I think the amount of funds you have also has to do with if they choose to stay with you or not. I remember having 0 funds for like 9 months as a ruler and most of my officers just left except my oath brothers and wife. |

I don't understand it either, but with my story I was playing as my brother's created force and one of my created characters (my friends) was part of the enemy force. I sent three created officers at him, all with lvl 10 weapons and flash attached to their weapons...he killed them in less than a minute and took no damage. I don't know how that happened... |

Throughout the games I've played so far, the most reliable officer to have for me has definitely been Xiahou Yuan. He almost never fails to take out the base or officer I tell him to. Can't say the same for Zhao Yun, though. I don't think I've ever had him successfully complete an order(or survive a battle for that matter).

Yes this is pretty sad indeed. Gao Sheng (sp?) has been my most reliable officer someone I could send by himself, and get the job done. Not everytime, but alot of the time. And btw if you're not playing Sun Ce he sucks! Like as soon as you get the "Your char has inspired the army" they go into a Full Assault, and literally 2 seconds later "I could use some help!" or whatever he says. Sun Ce is so jobbed by this game its sad! |

U do know that your officers are worthless if your morale is lower than the enemies, or if the their supply base is not yet taken, if your officers are attacking an enemy front-line base that is still covered in red , and finally if you send to them attack or defend against an enemy officer thats inspired at the start of battle right? |

in dw6 empires some characters have special events attached to them. (zhou yu and lu xun with fire attack events etc.) Diao Chans is taking officers from you and leaving if you defy the emperor. Lu bu has the HIGHEST chance to betray out of every officer in this game. Unless you are incredibly lucky, the only way to keep him for a full game is to play as him non-stop or don't put him into battle. those 2 are literally the least reliable officers in the game. Anyways, as wei said, morale is very important. If you have barely any morale and send your full force against an inspired officer, they WILL get mauled to death. also, if your allies are in your own territory they are stronger than if they were fighting in the enemies territory. you have to take these factors into account whether you are a ruler or an officer. |

I usually have no issue with Sun Ce and I usually have him in my force. Only one time did he not listen and I dunno why. He was in full assault but I dunno what sent him into that. X) What I have issues with is generics who go straight for the main base when I hit the 'do as you will' command. And then they get nailed by all the returning officers from the enemy. 9.9 Idly, I miss the old Taunt ability from DW5. Since we're talking about officers doing stupid things. I remember Sun Ce responding to a taunt from a hyper Zhang Fei on a game of mine and storming off to fight him. That didn't go well for him. But it was quite entertaining. Aside from generics, I've never had anyone betray me. But I've never had Lu Bu either. I think that's pretty neat that he'll sorta stay in character like that. |

I still don't understand how morale works... no matter where I go, our army always has fewer bases and less morale than the other side. It's not usually anything significant but regardless of the state of my army, we always have less. |

For some reason they do have taunt quotes in the voice gallery for the characters but I never heard any of the characters use them. I did enjoy some of the respond taunts better in DW5 from said characters like Cao Pi and Xu Huang. Cao Pi: "Mules brays and fools talk but the wise man listens not." Xu Huang: "I am not so immature to raise to the debate of an uncoth dog." I don't really pay much attention to the morale when playing since I tend to just ran around the maps and capture whatever bases I need. I think once you capture majoirty of the bases, then your morale rises but I am not sure if that is the case or not.

Thanks for all that guys, I didn't know about the morale either. But i'm saying like when I stop a surprise attack or defeat a hyper officer I get this message that says X has inspired his army So they go automatically into full assault for me, and Sun Ce for some reason always seems to be on the receiving end of a beating while everyone else is taking bases, and other such useful stuff, but I do get what you're saying, and that helps alot thanks! How many titles can you get as an officer? So far the highest i've gotten is 6, bear in mind i've only finished 1 of the 7 files I have going right now. |

Yes, Diao Chan will take your officer if you betray the emperor. Lu Bu will betray you a lot. These happens on a higher bases if they voluntarily join you. If you want to stay loyal to the end then just oath/marry them depending on your gender. |

Well that I don't know since I just play on easy mode. XD I don't think morale changes the difficulty of the fighting though. If you have flash on your weapon, then it probably would help alot with taking down enemies quicker on harder difficulty levels maybe? |

Lol, this made me laugh ![]() Anyway, I found a new deep in reliable. I threw my CAW Zhu Rong, CAW Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao to a Supply Base. The base had 0 officers at all, and I torched the base. I just went out and do something else. Next thing I saw was the three of them withdrawing at the same time
