Tomb Raider 9 - Facts and Features this is Not Official Just Of Yet Developer: Crystal Dynamics Expected Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC Expected Rating: ESRB M Story: When a sudden storm destroys her research vessel, a young and inexperienced Lara Croft finds herself on a mysterious and remote island, hidden off the coast of Japan. Despite several signs of various inhabitants, the island is oddly deserted, and an uneasy feeling settles in as strange sounds emerge from the shadows. With only her determination, inner strength, and resourcefullness to help her, Lara must overcome the challenges of a harsh and unforgiving journey that will take her through a vast island wilderness and deep into the claustrophobic and menacing underground tombs from the islands past. As she struggles to prevail through brutal combat encounters and treacherous exploration, Lara will be pushed to her limits and forced to adapt to her situation in order to survive the and escape the lethal predators that stalk her every move. This new Tomb Raider Concept reboots the franchise by exploring the origins of Lara Croft's transformation into a hardened adventurer as you unravel the story behind the island's mysterious past. Characters: Lara Croft: Young Lara Croft, learns to cope with her surroundings and fend of the creatures that inhabit the island in her first ever adventure; The adventure that would spark Lara's interest in tomb raiding and make her into the hardened archeologist we know today. Enemies: Mysterious island inhabitants Some believe the creatures to be the Kappa, the Oni and the Yōkai. Keep in mind, these beliefs are based WHOLLY on the descriptions comapred to the pictrues and may not have anything to do with the creatures featured in the game! Environment: The diverse multi-region island is an open playground alive with creatures, weather and natural events. Locations: Desolate island off the coast of Japan, inhabited by strange creatures. Acrobatics and Combat: Scramble up a vertical cliff wall, sprint and leap across a huge chasm, steer mid-air to land a misdirected jump. There is no one right way to travers, survive and explore the harsh environment of the island. Evade, outsmart and track and kill the mysterious enemies that hunt you as prey. Brutally attack and defend yourself as you fight to survive through visceral one-on-one meele combat. Weapons and Gear: Gain an advantage in combat by finding an array of different meeled and ranged weapons including a variety of guns and the hunters ultimate weapon, the bow. React and adapt to the island by using only that which you can salvage from the environment like climbing axes, rope and machetes that can be used to unlock new traversal and combat gameplay options. What is this? Lara Croft is in Resident Evil now? Seriously, now they're getting desperate. They're going to try and beef it up to an M-rating, probably have a lot of blood and gore, and try to make it like RE to open it up to a wider audience. This is laughable, at best. I've heard the last few Tomb Raider games were bad, so I say if this one fails, the series is pretty much dead. Lara Croft is just another character that has succumbed to gamers moving on, much like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. Their games keep coming out, but does anyone really care anymore? This isn't to say I hope the game does poorly. Quite the contrary, actually. I've never played a good Tomb Raider game, to be honest (not a fan of the series in the slightest). If this one turns out well, more power to them. |

^Last few games were actually very good in my opinion. Just a few flaws such as bugs and game length compared to what the birth of the series had. I've never cared for the story in these games personally, I've always just liked solving the puzzles and visiting the locations. I believe this could have something to do with Square-Enix now controlling the company after the last game's lack of buyers. It's a new chapter, though we'll have to wait for more images and gameplay videos to judge further. |

As much as I don't really care for the series now, I really hope it does great. I was a huge fan of the Tomb Raider Series when it came out for the PS1. A couple years after that it went downhill. I''ll be waiting for more info though.

Whaaaaaaaat??! no, is it true that there gunna remake the series into a horror game?!NO NO NO!Why?!Im about to flip out, wtf?The game was doing really well, I liked the new Tomb Raider games coming out. Hopefully the game just has horrifying looking monsters, and I just dont think it should be a horror game. They should stick with what the game is, mysterious, and its a puzzle solver. It has a good storyline. I guess its alright, the artwork looks good! And at least they didnt change Lara's look. EDIT:Now that I've read it more, I like it It still sounds like the same old Tomb Raider, just alittle more horror in it.
