Hey, I'm just wondering who do you guys like using? Where and why too? I'll go first. Zhou Tai: On water, with Pikes/Warship. Reason: Reckless+DivineWaters=One ownage line he says when he lands a critical (Don't know what it is, but it sounds cool.) Ma Chao: On land, with Cavalry and an intelligent lieutenant. Reason: Reckless+Divine Cavalry = Win. Also, he tends to butcher officers more often when charging..Once butchered Sima Zhao and Sun Li in the same battle. Yue Jin: On land, spears. Reason: His Robocopness. Zhang Yi(Ni.), Ma Zhong and Ma Su. Often support/defense units, due to multitalantedism. >:o...About to pass out, haven't slept in a while..zzzzzzzzz....[drool here.] |

Most of the time I played,it was with Cao Cao's force. I like to use Cao Cao with spear troops against dumb enemies like Lu Bu. They may seem strong,but Cao Cao's stratgies work perfectly on low INT units because of his skill. Yue Jin and Li Dian are the ones I often use for weaponry. Mainly because of their skills. Xiahou Yuan with bowmen and Man Chong seem to be good supporting units. Xiahou Dun and Zhang Liao are good for cavalry. And Xun You is absolutely great as a strategic supporter because of his skill. Did you ever put someone with Black Arts together with someone with Focus?  Of course,the rather "dumb" officers like Xiahou Dun or Yuan always get a strategist as deputy. And I found out that Zhou Tai's good on water. Like I said,I mainly played as Cao Cao so don't know much about the other forces. |

I did use focus with sorcery, focus with black arts too. I had at one point in a game : Xun You / Lu Shang (unlockable) Ma Su / Mulu Duosi etc. And yeah, when fighting against Lu Bu's army, the only one worth worrying about is Zhang Liao, because his INT isn't too bad. I once raised it to 80. and his LDR/WAR are great..etc. Not to mention Majesty. |

Cao Cao: Most of the time with spear units just so he'll avoid dying. I tend to give him calvary about half the time. Really effective once he reachs ''S'' on it. He's also got the best stats in the game. Cao Zhang: The yellow bearded general! People like Man Chong are always in his unit with me. Stampede with reckless on weaker officers shows good chaos. Always in my vanguard OR doing something else... important. Sun Jian: On sea with Zhou Tai and Han Dang, way too good. Land is not as bad but most of Wu are note worthy to be more often in sea anyday. I prefer to use him on land though. Zhao Yun: I really like your portrait deud. Guo Huai: Something about him I like, his stats overall can be it but he's just awesome using in almost every area for me. Yue Jin:
^ This. He's also a pretty cool guy who likes breaking down gates and doesn't afraid of anything. Lu Bu: I do like using officers who like to slaughter. I can't tell who kill's more either him or Ma Chao. I'm sure there is a lot more but I'm pretty tired. I'll continue my list soon. |

Speaking of slaughtering. I'm playing an edited force with Huo Qubing as leader. Took the emperor and helped him, 'till he was like "Lolz, I R useless" and made me Emperor in his place, I have pretty much the entire map. except for the Wu/Gongsun/Lu Bu lands. Wu Launched a large scale offensive on Shou Chun..one of my epicest battles, I had military reform and all other command / unit techniques researched, I had 100k horses or so in Ru Nan. But, no good officers stationed there, so I sent Li Ji and Wu Qi with spear units. 8k/10k. Then summoned these guys to Ru Nan: Ma Chao Ma Dai Pang De Yue Fei Ma Yunlu Ma Xiu Ying Bu Yan Xing Huo Qubing Chen Qing Ma Tie. I formed like, super cavalry units. Like, seriously over 60k in cavalry, first unit to get there was Ma Dai and some other Ma lieutenant, due to forced gallop. I charged Zhou Xin's Ram unit. Ma Dai had a critical, all I know is..first hit in the battle, Zhou Xin goes "Arrgghh!" "Zhou Xin has died in battle" or something, I laughed so hard, like, quickest death EVER. Then, I slaughtered Wu and such. Now I got Pu Yang under siege. Pretty much only need 4 more cities. Jian Ye, Wu, Pu Yang and Hui Ji. -end of rant- Edited by KauSu, Jul 31 2009, 12:21 PM.

My favorite officers (ironically) revolve around Zhuge Liang's staff Ma Dai- He is usually one of my better officers, he gets the job done for me. Zhang Yi and Zhang Yi- Same as Ma Dai Zhao Yun- No one can stop him... Wei Yan- or him Gao Xiang- I usually use him as back up in Ma Dai or the Zhangs are being killed. Guan Xing and Zhang Bao- Also used as back up. Jiang Wei- He governs most of my areas for me and I call him in when I need a large job done. Deng Ai- So talented... So awesome... Wang Shuang- Quite the warrior, though I pair him with Ma Liang to keep him from retreating. Jia Xu- It is usually difficult to beat him. Huang Zhong- He is used as my pike commander... I think I should stop now

Cao Chun's pretty good, just give him a lieutenant like..Yuan Huan or something. He'd be rockin dat cavalry. |

Zhuge Liang- Good in a lot of areas, Has a cool portrait Sun Ce- I don't know why, he is a good slaughterer though Zhang Liao- He is a great at battles, is somewhat decent in INT area's Yuan Shao- Nobility! Ma Chao- Same as Sun Ce Lu Xun- Is smart and has pretty good leadership |

True. He's already basically a natural at what he does. He just need's someone who... has a better INT to keep right? If you just tweak him for a bit and use him more often he can surprisingly do well beyond expectations. (Cao Hong's true rival! :o) Hua Xiong is also pretty well in Chun's area to add in. I actually use him a lot in RoH. In general his portrait says everything there is to be said for him. (Yes Hua Xiong is manliest when comparing portraits. Lu Bu seems and is so much inferior to him in every way possible. Hence the reason he's killed early/dead.) Off topic, I can see by your new signature KauSu Vladi Putin has been overwhelming the three kingdoms with that sniper of his. (^.-) |

Yeah, Hua Xiong is pretty good. But he needs a smart lieutenant aswell. There are so many people that just need good sidekicks to do blasting pewpew great, actually Xing Daorong is one of them, in my old Liu Du campaign, I had Jiang Wan, who in turn got me Liu Ba, Liao Li, Wei Yan and Huang Zhong..anyhow, Xing Daorong's War, and pike aptitude of A, and Jiang Wan's int/clear thought = win. edit: Yeah, Vladi's rocking china. All techniques researched, but I only have 3 cities under my control. Formed a defensive network of crossbow turrets and such. Also, I only have a handful of officers, and Ling Tong just died, so. I'm just going to chillax and recruit random officers. I had Sima Zhao..but..game crashed ;_;.. Edited by KauSu, Aug 8 2009, 09:43 PM.

I'll throw down more. Some I've been paying more attention to. Zhang Ren - He works well in forest areas. No wonder he's in the Cheng Du region, eh? I tend to have him in Bowmen, usually now in combinations with Cao Xiu or Cao Pi. Recently however because I've been trying to work up his weak cavalry aptitude I've mixed him with the likes of Cao Chun, Huo Qubing and Bai Qi. Real fun working it up. (Zhang Ren future cavalry general! *drool*...) Shen Pei - Has been working together more with me on almost every unit. I have him mainly serve as my pike unit on Shou Chun. (Prefect.) Fighting off armies by Sun Quan in almost every turn. He's really balanced so I occasionally have him everywhere. Had to re-load my save data twice because he died in battle. He's just that important, lol. Ji Ling - His beginner WAR and LEAD are great, and he shows good potential working his way up. Plus he's a personal favorite of mine, kinda like Han Dang but much to a lesser extent. He's crucial for me in Wan and Shang Yong. I have him work with Cao Ren and the likes of Jia Xu backing him up. Another beastly cavalry/spear general in the making. Han Xin - Very useful when going through narrow paths I.E. Chang An through Shang Yong. When multiple units are attacking I have him around Tian Shui. My current story Liu Bei is in Han Zhong, so I kinda have Han Xin go back and forth with his unit. His skill making it really easy, thus a reliable unit. Zhu Ran - He's proven quite useful recently for me. Him and Deng Ai same unit in a naval battle = awesome. His stats are amazing too, it's a shame I never paid attention to him. Since I don't have a lot of ''S'' naval generals, I depend a lot on him around that area. Oh! And has recently become one of my officers with insane deeds. ;_; |

Shen Pei is a personal favorite of mine as well. I'm currently using him in my Han Fu Army, his lieutenant being Ji Yong. (For a raise in cavalry APT.) |

Yeah. Shen Pei is an awesome choice for using all-around. He's pretty much the Guo Huai of Yuan Shao's team. Although cleary not up to it yet stat-wise, he can be pretty amazing once he starts maxing up with techniques, combating and developing. |

Yeah, but.. to give props, my Guo Huai rocks. CHECKITOUTPEOPLE: My Guo Huai has: LDR: 92 (+2) WAR: 80 INT: 83 POL: 75 CHR: 77 (ithink.) Rank is Marshal. So he has a command of 18,000. S in Pikes, fortitude and fully researched Pike tech. Often has Sha Moke as his lieutenant. Beastly unit man, beastly. |

BWA, nice having him a Marshal and stat upgrades. Guo Huai himself is a pretty beastly unit on the Pikes area ''S'' plus terrifying natural stats to even begin with... Too good! Heh, imagine getting him max out? Haven't used him in a while since my last story against Liu Bei. (Typical last force when playing latter scenarios for myself.) Kinda stuck at the moment with RoH. Currently, having 400 plus officers doesn't allow much single-officer concentration. :| |

Ma Chao with super improved cavalry, improved stats and high rank + smart lieutenant(s), I personally use Xiang Chong and Huang Quan with him. Imagine this unit: Ma Chao. LDR: 90(+2). WAR 99. Divine Cavalry, 18,000 Riders. LT: Xiang Chong (Indestructible), Huang Quan (Integrity, I think) with Quan's INT being 82. Ownage unit. And with Ma Chao being extremely good at butchering, it's just perfect. |

Zhao Yun can be pretty useful. His skill is just amazing in terms of strategy. And, well, his stats are almost identical to Zhang Liao. But nonetheless he's a beast. I'll have to give him a better mention on my more recent walkthroughs, sometime.
Nice. Ma Chao with better stats and overall skills is always fun to have anywhere. I've had something to that effect before. But never with max troops. Just too good... In my opinion, Ma Chao is definitely the best of killing officers in battle. I've had him kill Jiang Wei and Deng Ai in one turn before. He also earned my respect further, by killing off Fan Zeng. (Who defected to Dong Zhuo and immediately attacked us.) I don't know why I haven't used him in a while. |
