Official JP site: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/musoumrsp/ Meng Huo's awakened form: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/musoumrsp/moukaku.jpg Well, like the other port games, let's direct the discussion on the recently revealed SSMMR/DWSF port to the PS3 & 360 here. ![]() Anyway, other than the facts that it will be ported to the aforementioned consoles and JP release on 1 October, here are the informations that are known so far.... but there are no scans yet.... then again, this week scans are unusually scarce. ![]()
- With a 'joint struggling generals' system you can be accompanied by up to 3 characters - Ability to do multi play and voice chat over the net - Appearance of character cards that power up cities - Weapon abilities can be appended - Meng Huo will be appearing here Right now I'm still waiting for the scan, and I hope I can upload it ASAP when it's out. The main highlight I'm looking for in the game is to see Meng Huo in his awakened form. Why do I imagine this Meng Huo's awakened to be something similar to King Kong? Edited by Xalfrea, Jul 29 2009, 11:36 AM.

Online stuff, that's cool. But I want to see cutscenes in this game, preferably new like what they did with the openings and endings. And I want to see better stories and more Chi for diversity. This isn't such bad news despite predictable KOEI, because DWSF was a great game that had many interesting elements. So I just want it better, lots better, not just a bit. |

When I first saw this my first thought was: "Well isn't that predictable." But i'm getting used to the idea and having Meng in it is nice. Would have prefered it on the PS3 rather than PSP to begin with but I still might get it if we see it over here (which I very much doubt but you never can tell) Also I'd like to see some sort of reason that characters can transform. - I wonder if this means you are accompanied by 3 other human players OR are they borrowing from the WO team system ... if the latter, then that just opened the combo possibilities up just a bit further - Damn, this hurts not having a console ... proper online play - Same as in PSP - I think this is the same - Damn. Despite not owning a console, I'll be following this to see just how much I'll be missing out on. I like the current version, so I hope that KOEI will continue to support it through DLC and not abandon it in favor of this new version

- I think it sounds like you can choose who you take with you into battle. Who knows if we can switch. But seems like they'll all be on the battlefield. This is actually intense AI programming if you think about it carefully. Switching to some other character on some other side of the battlefield would really work to your advantage. A major improvement but not likely expected. - I thought character cards already power up cities? I don't really understand this feature. Well.... it levels it up but... I really don't understand this wording.... - The weapons' abilities sound nice although there are a variety of features FAR more important than weapon abilities. IMO that is... - This (pretty much) means he'll be playable. Will they incorporate him into being a boss? Will they put his officers in the game as well? They'd have their own Awakening forms. Will they have terrain that suits the Nanman faction? Which chapter(s) would he be in if you were to face him in battle? Or will he have his own dedicated chapter? Does this mean an extra cut scene for eye candy besides the intro, ending 1, lu bu resurrection, and ending 2? This could changes quite a bit. As BlackKite has only mentioned few but important factors in the somewhat ported game, so many things could branch off of these very few points. Who knows what they could do with this. But best not to get hopes up. Just to be safe... But it wouldn't hurt now would it? Possible transfer of PSP data for bonuses to give other players who are expecting disappointment some incentive? What about the 360 version?... HQ awakening models? Encyclopedia or archives to view models and what not? oh my.... Edited by rayhaku, Jul 30 2009, 12:29 AM.

This will be like Orochi Z, i.e. a direct port with little to no graphical enhancements and just some gameplay tweaks. This is just an experiment by Koei to see how the main DW formula will fare online (DW gundam 2 was a big flop in terms of online). Well, at least that is what I think. I hope they prove me wrong but it seems like underestimating Koei is the best thing to do these days

Well, it's their first attempt at online play, so you'll have to pardon that. Plus, there wasn't even an online play in the JP version...

Ehh, I don't think I like Meng Huo's fury form. I like the mane and firey animal stuff and all that but I feel like the blue skin ruins it. I mean, besides that I think its pretty cool.Does it say anything about where Meng Huo appears in the game or anything else new? And for Joint Struggle, is it just offline companions? Because I don't know if there is a way to have 4 controllers. |

Hmm... no info about that yet. Sorry that I was in a hurry that I didn't explain it in detail. But basically, this Joint Struggle thing is that on Single Play you can have AI-controlled characters as companions. It doesn't mention offline multiplayer yet, though. |

It's alright, thanks a bunch. I'm definitely glad that there will be AI companions. I don't have that many friends that I can get to play, nor do I have a second controller. All they need to do now is make it console worthy and have it released in NA/EU and I'll buy it.

Wait, so is there still online? And does anyone else think the graphics are sub-par? Shouldnt they equal DW6 at least if its using DW6 models or is Koei still backstepping? |

Not what i was expecting from Meng, based on his new moveset I thought a gorilla type transformation would be coming (although thinking about it that would be weird....), but I still like it.
You do realise that all screenshots, offical or not, look worse quality than the actual game. Especially the early ones. |

mini map looks cyber style. i like. meng huo fury = nightmare, necrid, zhang fei, astaroth, zhang jiao. weird but hmm..... interesting. like a few others i've noticed that the graphics aren't up to par as 6 but i think it's safe to assume that if watered down slightly but enough to still look good, it won't lag. massive effects and mashing huge monsters with other characters and flashy effects. Top priority is gameplay. This is fast and intense. If the graphics are just like 6, it'll lag a bit... more than 6 and empires itself (don't argue with me about 6 and empires lagging it does occasionally). so main point being, slightly lowered quality graphics, less lag. could i be wrong? There's WAY more enemies on screen than the PSP version. I wonder in the screenshots page that KOEI is using quite a bit of blur and shading/lighting Edited by rayhaku, Jul 31 2009, 11:01 AM.
