I wonder why they decided to include Kaihime? Not that I'm hating on the decision, it's just sometimes I wonder what warrants Koei to include obscure persons from the Sengoku period. |

Awesome, better memorize these new names so I'm ready. Woo-hoo, just two more days until the official site. It may not have much on it when it's opened, but it still gives us hope. :D So, only one more character left to announce... just... one more. Is it that European-like guy? I'll get the Wii version if they don't announce a port at a time where I can buy new games. I'm fine with it on the Wii, but someone's always watching the T.V. and that would make it be able to rarely be played... sighhh~ Oh yeah, and what are the controls gonna be on the Wiimote? o-o Heh heh, oh well, I'll have to adapt either way. The first character I'm going to play as is Kaihime. >-> I hope Nene AND her aren't gonna be in the same game. I don't like Nene, and likely they'd just be clones of each other, sooo... Is it really 35 final, or 35 initially playable characters? Because if it's the former, then that's strike one for me. If anything, SW SHOULDNT cut characters. DW can, but SW couldn't and shouldn't. |

I think it would be safe to assume that Koei cares a lot more about their Japanese fanbase.... They are, after all, a Japanese company. And I also think its safe to assume that they have more fans over there than in EU or USA. I don't think they will listen much to our character opinions :P! |

Goemon (Even if I'm not a fan of him, that's not the reason why. I just wouldn't doubt it if he was.) 4. Kunoichi (Well, now there's proof she was cut out, though.) 5. Kojiro ( onoes. ;-; ) 6. Okuni ( Noooesss. ): ) And if Nagamasa, Masamune, Magoichi, Motochika, Oichi, Nouhime, Mitsuhide, Mitsunari, amd Sakon are cut someone will dieeee. /arms of doom Ahh, but I hope the new characters are interesting and not as bland as a brick. ._. /slapped EDIT: Ohmygod fail. Well, good point there. But when it comes to new Koei games, the one thing I always expect are new characters to enjoy playing as. DW6...failed at that. As for SW, new characters are nice, but I don't really like it if they are forced to cut characters who have their own personality, especially since whoever they cut may end up going the DW6 route and not even be referenced or mentioned at all. |

KAIHIME!? Holy crap, Koei, you know the best way to surprise me yet piss me off too. With Kai's inclusion, we have A HOJO CLAN CHARACTER YAY who happens to fill a good female slot. But at the same time this might just mean no Ujiyasu or Ujimasa, blargh. Kanbei I fully expected. He's just so important, especially with Kiyomasa in as well. His career went into full drive as Hideyoshi's strategist during the Mouri Campaign(which is about when Hanbei passed away) and continued to be a strong right-hand man for Hideyoshi at Odawara and Kyushu, and would go on to basically be Hideyoshi's Kyushu overseer along with Kiyomasa. He later sided with Ieyasu for Sekigahara, but partly as a ploy to try and garner more power in Kyushu, those this would fall through. All we really need now is a Mouri character, someone from the central area(around the capital) of Japan, another guy from the far north, and all the bases are pretty well covered. If there are indeed only 4 new characters, #4 MUST BE MOTONARI OR A MOURI CLAN CHARACTER. I will accept no less. Edited by Seraphil, Aug 5 2009, 07:40 AM.

Actually...there are 32 characters... 6 from XL and 26 from SW2. Unless im adding someone.  So i take Kanbei was the Western looking dude in the artwork...maybe the black robed dude is the Mouri guy? |

Yeah, I can understand that. I just hope none of the character I like will be cut... yeah, that's rather selfish of me, but whatever. I play games for me, myself, and I. I know that Masamune won't get cut- he's not vitally important to the game, but last I checked the Japanese did seem to love the little guy (I mean, he made it in SW1, considering he wasn't really important to many of those battles that the game focused on). So I can sleep easy tonight knowing that he's safe. Now, if Nene does get cut, I will be sad, but I'll probably get over it. As much as I like her and would die to see Kaihime vs Nene in a battle of Hideyoshi's affection, the game can exist without her. She really didn't offer that much to the plot to begin with, and I can see where people found her to be annoying. So, if she's cut in lieu of more Eastern army characters that actually DO stuff, I'll live. Be sad for a little while, but life goes on. She may come back in an expansion of WO3, so no tears will be shed. My thoughts on who's getting cut? Possibly Yoshimoto (again), Gracia (good riddance; cut her or get rid of that stupid MAGO MAGO MAGO BEST FWIENDS EVER crap), Kojiro and Musashi... and I doubt that Kunoichi or Goemon will return. Okuni and Ranmaru may also get the cut, in which only Ranmaru will sadden me. But I guess that's what SW1/XL and the WO series is for. Despite the prospect of characters being cut, I can't say I'm all too sadden. Unless Masamune gets cut, then Koei will burn in every layer of hell. But surely Koei won't do that... surely. *denial* |

You have it right Eni. There's 32 characters currently, not including Goemon or Kunoichi. So this confirms at least one character is going bye-bye. I'm personally pretty certain it'll be either Musashi, Kojiro or Gracia. Chibi: Koei won't cut Masamune. Japan will lynch them if they do. Edited by Seraphil, Aug 5 2009, 07:44 AM.

I'm getting confused ahftrhegjfdgs Sooo... OKAY... There was 26 in SW2 +2 in Empires +3 in XL =32 I think I got that right. So, there's gonna be one cut, which I think is gonna be Kojiro. ._. Ah, good good. I think I would join in with all of Japan for that as well. He's my favorite character, what can I say? Love the little guy... If only one character had to go, I'd vote Gracia. Musashi and Kojiro might be a little too connected at the hip, unless they bring one of them back in the expansion. Seems kind of silly to do so, if that's the case. Just get rid of Gracia, if they REALLY want to keep Musashi/and or Kojiro. Sorry to those that love the girl, but I just don't see her getting priority over those two. Maybe Yoshimoto will get the cut for a third time; really, who's going to miss him? ... I would. |
