Frakkin' Toaster Posts: 2,755 Group: Admins Member #8,568 Joined: July 17, 2007 Gender Male	With the unexpected, yet very pleasing, unveiling of Samurai Warriors 3 we were treated to a look at three new characters: Kaihime, Kiyomasa Kato and Kanbei Kuroda. Their looks widely varied made appealing to different people. What was perhaps unexpected was the actual appearance of Kanbei. I certainly had never envisioned him looking so beastly. He emanates an evil vibe, something I would not have seen for someone working within the Toyotomi. A trusted friend of Hideyoshi's from what I have seen about him. When looking at him, I'm reminded of Kotaro a tad. His weapon is also something interesting. An orb, maybe Da Ji will appear in WO3 with only two of her orbs =P It's unconventional and looks to be pretty good from the screenshots which can be seen HERE. In any case this is the thread in which to discuss all things about this new entrant into the world of Samurai Warriors.

Cool outfit and hairstyle although why Koei makes him so pale is puzzling me! He would make a good friend with Kojiro though! His weapon is certainly interesting! Hopefully we'll get to videos of his moveset soon before the game comes out!

Probably due to the hair and the whole black and white colour scheme. But yeah,he seems like a interesting character.He's probably my favourite out of the newly introduced characters,although Kaihime's pretty hot. But sadly,I think Kiyomasa looks too anime-generic

No clue how he will be personally. I wonder how he will fight using that sphere. Will it float in the air with some range? Or will he be the same fighting style as Gracia?

Posts: 3,638 Group: Members Member #9,265 Joined: August 19, 2007 Gender Male	The initial design of Kanbei was a bit of a surprise to me, but after reading what Seraphil posted made me think about it, he was a rather cunning strategist in his Kessen appearances after all. This is a very welcome addition to the series, it should make Hideyoshi's story much more interesting.

I get the feeling that Kanbei may be the opportunist of SW, similar to Sima Yi in DW. He had a similar role in the original Kessen I remember. And he did switch allegiances to the Tokugawa after Hideyoshi died....

Hopefully if we get a proper campaign between the Mouri and Westerners against Hideyoshi then he'll be able to give a decent account of himself.

Why do they even bother!!!! Posts: 2,393 Group: Members Member #9,380 Joined: August 25, 2007	It would have been good if his name was changed from Kuroda Kanbei to Oda Nobutada. I don't think he will fit in very well with the Toyotomi. I expected someone from the Oda clan to look like that. Either way he is definitely one of my SW's favourite character now from looking at the screenshots he is going to be godly, hopefully not like Orochi, his moveset was crap.
