I wouldn't say that. A scythe like that would probably be used much different than your average spear user. There would be more slicing involved. Plus if you take a close look at the Famitsu excerpt with him on it, you get a glimpse of some of his attacks. |

After watching the SW3 special movie on youtube there's a very good chance that he will have a rivalry with Tadakatsu Honda during the his days with Hideyoshi then become allies at Sekigahara. Knowing Koei they'll definately take that oppotunity to put these characters together (and besides a rivalry with Kiyomasa seems more natural compared to him and Keiji). It'll even cooler if they reinstate the old SW story banch system where your actions determine your ending. Then Kiyomasa could either stay with the Western army or defect to the Eastern army as nature intended. However with the amount of characters there is I don't think the Wii disc would have enough memory. |

I doubt it. Just compare Orochi and Yukimura for example... I don't see Orochi stabbing people with his scythe <_<. Or Ma Chao using a spin attack similiar to Yue Ying's C1. |

This guy dosn't look like how I imagined him to. A bit too young in the face and well, handsome, if you get me. Was hoping for a more vicious, 'hatred of Mitsunari' look. Weapon looks, ok, I guess, somebody had to get it, just didin't think it would be him.

That is freakin insane. Now I knew the guy didn't like Christians and was a die hard warrior from some light research but that is crazy. Man if his personality even slighlty resembles that in game he is going to be seriously mean, for lack of a better word. |

Most certainly doesn't mean that they can't make that way. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't depeicted as always looking for fights in this one. But unlike Keiji, he won't be fun loving, it'll be along the lines if he's not fighting, he feels of less worth. ANd he would hate people who don't love to fight. |

Kiyomasa is going to steal the show. KOEI is already making him out to be the next Yukimura/Toshiie. Personally, I'd love to see a character that didn't mind being a total jerk at times (unlike Mitsunari, who only acts that way to hide his insecurities). Kiyomasa should be Mitsunari's opposite; he acts like a jerk because he could just care less for how most people felt. He lives for battle, and in the end cares less for his own desires outside of that. I like what one poster said that Kiyomasa would feel less worth outside of conflict, unlike Keiji who just feels bored. I'm beginning to imagine Kiyomasa to be more like the portrayal of Achilles from Troy. |

Agreed. I'm really expecting Kiyomasa to get alot of spotlight, but from the looks of it it seems like his character might portray him as much more cocky than Yukimura or Toshiie. He could very easily turn out to be a battle loving prick; which would actually be kinda cool to me. |

I like him so far. He's definitely the first new character (so far) that I'll try out once I buy the game. He looks strong, and I like his weapon. Really I don't have anything negative to say, not yet at least.

I'm sorta glad not everyone likes his portrayel in this game, i'm not a fan of liking all the characters everyone else likes (probably why i love Ranmaru so much) I thought i would post here in the respected topic rather than spamming up the SW3 board any more (god that place is just getting ridiculous) Well, as seen in the video, i very happy that Kiyomasa beats down that cocky-ass mitsunari, he looks like a very deep character. As the release date grows closer the more awesome Kiyomasa gets. if i can ever get tihs game i'm playing as Kiyomasa as soon as humanly possible. |

I too, am looking forward to seeing how Kiyomasa's character is like and how "mean" he is, seeing the cutscenes of holding Mitsunari and his attempt to supposedly having to "stab" Kanbei. (Western assimilation perhaps? Simply drama?) His moveset appears straightforward and simple-to-use, not to mention his Musou Kaiden is very appealing to watch. ;D |

That's what I thought too when I first saw his CG "He seems nice" Guess that what I get for not knowing history. In any case I labled him "Hide's little bully" for all that grooping, shoving and harrassing with knives stuff ;P I wonder if Nene is going to give him an earful? I definitly would enjoy seeing her go angry and rant at him. |

I think we are being a bit harsh on Kiyomasa, he doesn't strike me as a massive hothead or a "bully". He historically disliked Mitsunari, Kiyomasa was a warrior first and foremost all he cared about was battle, he hated bureaucrats like Mitsunari and frankly SW Mitsunari is a smug jerk and I would probably do the samething to him if I had the chance. Secondly, I suspect the scene where he is threatening Kanbei, is when Kanbei is suggesting they side with the Eastern army after Hideyoshi's death. |

True, we can't be sure of his personality until we have the game ^^ But I kind would love Kiyomasa to blow up to Hanbei and Nene scolding him <3 Then again I'm currently for any Nene-scolding of any warrior XD I think when Kiyomasa was a generic in SW2 didn't she explicitly scold him twice in the game? |

Though I like Kato's appearance, I simply don't like him historically. I found something about him murdering Christian infants. I was like: "Alright, that's just crossing the line..... >_____>" So I wonder how they're gonna portray him in the game. Side of the whole Christian thing, I would say this is a good add.
