Would there be at least a mention of the Korean campaign?

I imagine (when on the other consoles, because it will be), The Campaign for Korea should be DLC. Either that, or Hideyoshi's ending is his way to Korea. i don't know. i just hope they don't throw it aside like the last two.

just remember, The Korean Campaign is on Age of Empires 2 :)

Many valid points were brought up in this topic, but let me be a bit biased for a second: If, hypothetically, the next Samurai Warriors game did include Admiral Yi as a playable character, how would Koei portray him?

I imagine that if the developers want to appease their (apparent?) Korean fanbase, they'll take their creative liberties and give him the appearance of trendy-looking korean pop-star, or perhaps a dashing korean actor from one of them korean movies or dramas, or a combination of both traits, a 25-35 age-range.

He would be clothed in some attractive outfit, one befitting of a navy commander, with the typical frills and laces thrown into the design.

I was loosely reading the article about Yi Sun-sin, and he seems like a man I can deeply admire. Anyway, as for his weapon, it would have to something unconventional, perhaps some sort of cannon contraption, similar to the ones on his infamous turtle ships. It would be mounted onto his arm, in the shape of a dragon (I did catch the part in the article where the dragon heads were used simply as psychological warfare).

But perhaps I'm not thinking outside-the-box enough; It sounds all-too similar to Motonari's weapon.

As for keeping Hideyoshi good, I remember reading Nobunaga was planning to do it. So they could have it as Hideyoshi doing it for the deceased Nobunaga.
The actual mission could take one of the later battle which Korea wins and have it as a retreat level, protect the rest of the characters and fight their way out?

to include it and give a chance of showing Japan winning or being in a good light of any sort, is entirely against my morals.

I don't know man. I could easily imagine a Korean campaign stage looking very similar to the battle of Chi Bi led by admiral Yi. (Who Koei should portray as the Lu Bu of Korea.)
If there's one thing Samurai Warriors really needs more of. It has to be more epic scale campaigns. (Wu Zhang plains, Chi bi, etc.)

You wouldn't have to embellish the outcome of the war. Hideyoshi loses most of his man power and retreats.
If Sega's Yakuza games can have stories about a heartless Korean mafia, and Zainichi portrayed as illegal immigrants. (Both of which are very un PC points of view.)
Then I really don't see what's the problem with war campaigns that actually happened in real life.

The only problem I see is that the fan base for musou games are generally less mature than the fanbase for Ryu ga Gotoku games.
(By less mature I mean that the Musou games cater to all ages.
Some of which are too young to comprehend historical geo politics.)

My apologies. You know, MY country, America, is pretty much hated throughout the world for some inhumane and arrogant things that we did, but that doesn't mean it should be a taboo subject. All countries, at one point in time, have done terrible things, and the sooner we come to accept this the better things will be. Sorry, I didn't realize you took the topic so seriously.

It's complicated. Asians for some reason generally have a hard time with dealing with the past. Especially when it comes to past transgressions of the Japanese.
Japanese are erroneously assumed to have historical amnesia, because they don't dwell on their past transgressions 24/7.

Do you know about the Liancourt rocks? I won't even get into it here.
(Does this forum have a politics board?)
Let's just say that it's another example of the childish foolishness that goes on between Korea & Japan.

I can talk about America's heinous acts and failures, but that doesn't mean everyone else can do the same for their countries.

Just because they can't unpack their emotional baggage doesn't mean that you shouldn't be able to talk about it. That's illogical.
This is part of the reason why politics in Asia is so backwards to begin with. You can't talk about anything that will potentially offend somebody. (Which is practically everything, lol.)
I suggest that you read up on the Korean campaign yourself.
(Using sources from Korea, Japan, and the West.)
There's really no reason why the Korean campaign should be such a touchy subject. Other than hurt egos, and nationalism from both sides of the conflict.
I could understand if Japan had committed atrocities during the K campaign on similar magnitude as the WWII Imperialist era, but that's not the case here at all.

Yeah so Japan were bastards to instigate a pointless war.
So what?
Any country that wishes to expand beyond their borders has to play the role of the bad guy at one time or another.

It's not something that really should be in a video game. I understand how that would be crossing the line.

What line is it actually crossing?
Why is it that everybody assumes that the Koreans would be portrayed as evil? I personally see Koei portraying Monkey during his Korean campaign years the same exact way that they portray Yuan Shao in the DW games.
A vain,over confident man who's growing senile.

Now if Koei portrayed the Korean Campaign the same exact way that they portrayed Nobunaga in Kessen 3. Then yes I would see a problem with that. (Kessen 3 made Nobunaga look way too heroic.)

All I'm saying is that the Korean campaigns could possibly add more character development to Hideyoshi and shouldn't be excused simply because it was shameful period. (I mean come on. Japan never took Korea as the obedient son role to China as the elderly father relationship seriously in the first place. Obviously Japan was going to be a nuisance to the two sooner or later. It was unavoidable.)

As it stands now. The only character of the big three in SW who's shown in a bad light is Nobunaga.
I think the games would be much more effective if they actually showed you what qualities Tokugawa had that the other two lacked.
Nobunaga: Tyrannical and terrible at political relations.
Hideyoshi: He understood geopolitics and diplomacy well. Unfortunately he lacked stability once he united Japan.

Koreans are well known for being good looking...

Yeah, with plastic surgery. Zing! Sorry I couldn't resist.
(This is just a playful jab. I don't mean anything serious by it.)
Personally it's a bad idea to state generalizations as fact.
(Unless it's generalizations about Brazilian women. Which is true they are teh hawtness! The first time I ever heard of Brazilian women was when I met a Brazilian Japanese back when I lived in Japan a decade ago.)
I myself. I tend to prefer the Okinawans like Meisa Kuroki or Ainu mix breeds.

AOE is Western made so they're excused for not paying attention to the fragile sensibilities of people from the East.
Generally the only complaints that I hear from Asians is that AOE's portrayal of Samurai are too over powered.
At least that's a compliant that I read once at the threekingdoms.net boards.
Heh, there's just no pleasing some people.

My bad for the gigantic post. I'm not sure if double posting is allowed here.

*sigh*

I'm not dealing with this. There's already enough posts explaining well why these cannot and should not be added, and to top it off my own reasonings are being misinterpreted to where I feel almost insulted.
