Well,Im surprised that no one actually made a thread for GH.So I've decided to start it. I have never played GHs before GH:World Tour(that was when I got the full band set).It was a pretty fun experience playing as a full band(me on drums) or even in Solo mode(Guitar for me!).I loved the songs in it and yeah, some were pretty addictive. And also,it contains "Beat It" by our late King Of Pop.R.I.P. After that I got GH:Metallica, which was a great title as well. Some of the songs were pretty hard to play, which makes it kinda challenging.I guess it's pretty hardcore. Then in June 2009,I bought GH:Smash Hits, which is of course a great game to me since I didn't play GH3 and the later ones.A lot of popular and great songs in there, though I don't think it might be a good purchase for those who already have GH3 and later(in fact GH:Aerosmith and later). The only extra thing would be the full band play.Might need to get the second-hand copies or discounted ones. GH5 is an awesome addition to the series.Artists such as Matthew Bellamy from Muse and Kurt Cobain from Nirvana are included in this game. What else?An epic setlist from Santana's "No One To Depend On" to Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed American" to Megadeth's "Sweating Bullets".I really enjoyed this one,and the graphical improvement is awesome. So what about your Guitar Hero Experience? LAST EDIT=Re-checking of posts in thread. 28/02/2010 Edited by Raiga Kagekami, Sun Feb 28, 2010 1:10 pm.

TBH, I've gone to Rock Band now. Yes, I started with Guitar Hero and loved it, but ever since they've started to increase their songs to have them with insanely impossible riffs to do and catering to hard difficulties, I've been demoralized. |

I tend to think Rock Band has tighter gameplay, but I usually prefer Guitar Hero's song selections. MUSE? Tenacious D? Michael Jackson? TOOL? The Mars Volta? Jimi Hendrix? Santana? Garbage? I could go on and on. |

I agree about the song selections. It seems GH has more great songs than RB,though RB might be better in terms of Gameplay. GH might have really hard riffs or parts(*cough*Dragonforce*cough)but then that what makes me try to achieve to complete those riffs.Even though I still play on Hard. Can't seem to get onto Expert. I might be getting RB though,so anyone knows if GH:WT guitars work with RB/RB2? I don't even think that Dragonforce wants their song to be that hard. |

Would this be of help? I've came across this quite a few times:http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/photos/uncategorized/2008/11/14/ghchart1.jpg As for my Guitar Hero experience, not much, just played demos and stuff, not really interested in these games I know my friend is though, he's a beast at GH games

I, personally, don't get the craze, but then again, I can't carry a tune or keep beat/read music. I tried playing this (or Rock Band, they're both the same to me) with my cousins during Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, any other family gathering, and I still don't get it. I guess it has a nice sound track. Could someone explain this craze to me? Also, as an employee at a video game retail, we've FINALLY stopped taking in guitars and most other equipment for GH/RB. When we have over 60 used guitars cluttering up the back, it only screams to me that it was a fad, sort of like DDR (except I don't think DDR did half as well). Just the joy of not having to collect those things at the end of the day and shove them in a closet in the back every night pleases me. But seriously, explain the craze. I love music, but I don't have a single musical note in my body. |

The "craze" started behind Guitar Hero because it allowed people who couldn't play guitar (or didn't want to learn how to; I know people like that are out there! XD ) to be able to pick up the guitar controller and play the game like they were playing a guitar. Couple this with it being a party game, and you've got one hell of a game for families and social gatherings. Rock Band only enhanced this by allowing more than just guitar, where 4 people could play together rather than just two guitarists in Guitar Hero. Again, very good for partying and families. Plus, with downloadable content, there's a LOT of music for people to download on Rock Band (not nearly as much on Guitar Hero: World Tour), people can find a lot of music they love. I've seen all of the hype and fad that they both carried wavering off, as well. It really hit me when I dropped the prices on all of our Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2 band sets down to $99, and plus, we're not getting anymore in-stock. Sure, we're clearing out for Rock Band: The Beatles, Guitar Hero 5 (guitar only kits, no band kits this year), DJ Hero, and Band Hero, but we had a LOT of band kits left. It's slowly coming to an end, and after the little excitement I've seen for Guitar Hero 5 from customers (no one has even mentioned it, though people want The Beatles), Guitar Hero may be seeing it's end soon if sales aren't that great. A crippled economy isn't helping, either. Oh, and I work at Walmart, BTW. That' basically my consensus of why music games have gotten so big lately, but if anyone knows anything more factual, then please, feel free to share. |

Meh I'm pretty good at GH, nothing special. I can do most songs on Expert, nothing ridiculous like Through the Fire and Flames or Devil Went Down to Georgia though. I 5* all of the earlier songs. |

I loved the setlist for GH4 but I'm not to thrilled at the GH5 setlist, just doesn't seem as good. What I like about GH the most is their new drums lol. I was able to beat Scream Aim Fire and the drums the first day i played it at my friends house because i can play the real drums (I hate the drums for RB it's nothing like the real thing). |

Well . . . might as well give this topic a bit of a boost (^.^) The first time I played this was over at a friends place . . . but only played it once, then only one other time when another friend brought the game over to play . . . but now that I have the game myself, im finding it a lot more easier than when I started (understandable). I only have GH5 and GH:Aerosmith, but I seem to go alright overall. I managed to make a vid of one of my attempts on GH5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fephZHtJp1E The song is Plug in Baby by Muse . . . done on expert guitar (^.^) |

Ahh . . . good song that, not all that hard either, even on expert guitar (^.^) I haven't really had the chance to play some of the previous GH games all that much . . . like World Tour and GH3, but I keep on getting told by friends that overall . . . they are much harder than GH5, which does have some excruciatingly painful songs(difficulty-wise). I was wondering if anyone has played all three of these ones enough to actually make a call on if this is actually true . . . that there is a definite gap in the overall difficulty between GH5 and some of the previous titles? |

Actually there is. Like some of the songs on GH: Aerosmith ( Joan Jett's I Hate Myself for Loving You as an example) are pretty pretty difficult on the expert level whereas there are others like The Dream Police which are very easy. Depends primarily on the songs a lot of times and the players too. More on the players actually because it can happen that you might find a song difficult while I find it easy and vice versa. For me difficult songs were Message in a Bottle in GH: Mobile World Tour. Sorry for the late opinion but I had to play GH:5 before I could actually judge the difficulty levels |

Seeing as I'm using the Wii for Guitar Hero with Rock Band instruments, I only have Guitar Hero 5 as its the only one that works with all instruments aside from Band Hero... I actually only bought Guitar Hero 5 on release date because it had Bullet with Butterfly Wings, but the more I played into it, the more I actually got into the setlist and such... good thing that I somehow managed to import songs from GH:GH, GHWT and BH, totaling that with a few DLC purchases, my overall setlist is at 151 songs... Gameplay, I'm more comfortable playing on Rock Band as the charting of the songs is overall better namely vocals which is what I tend take up, same opinion goes for my friends who play guitar and drums more often... |

Gee, it's been ages since we've all talked about Guitar Hero, and now here comes Guitar Hero : Warriors of Rock. The setlist has quite returned back to before Guitar Hero: World Tour kind, but it's quite hardcore as well, I think. Hopefully soon enough I'll grab it. Has anyone bought the new set? I wonder how it feels to play with that. And seriously, Bohemian Rhapsody in both Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Muse is in Guitar Hero again with Uprising, an easy song to play on. I believe Megadeth has a specially created song for Guitar Hero. (I actually dreamed that Muse created a new song for Guitar Hero and played it for the first time at Wembley this year ) And on WoR, I think it comes with the new Soundgarden album. I have yet to see more songs by my preferred bands ('cept for Muse ).

I bought Warriors of Rock on release to hold me over till RB3 comes out and it wasn't bad at all, its definately more suited to the hardcore guitar players and such so if you want a challenge on guitar, you may as well grab it... I can barely play on Hard so far... As far as setlist goes, I bought it intially for music by bands such as The Cure, Silversun Pickups, Muse etc. but grew to like more of the song choices so I guess it works out and thats the most satisfying part, finding new music that you like as you play... importing content from previous GH is pretty goods as well... But like I said, I bought the game mostly to keep me occupied till RB3 is released with its diverse setlist and new features such as the keyboard... once RB3 is out, Warriors of Rock will be getting occasional plays for certain songs probably... As for the Soundgarden album, that comes packaged with the initial releases in US, so I doubt you can still pick one up... and aside from Uprising, I'm pretty sure "Resistance" was released as DLC... |

Yeah, I just found out Resistance was a free DLC for Xbox Live Gold members for it's first week of release. But still that's not a Muse song that showcases it's rock music. I think the most effective one was Assassin on World Tour, and found it satisfying. Plug In Baby is pretty cool with it's riff as well, but I don't find Resistance such a nice choice. Uprising neither. They're both easy songs found on Muse's recent album, The Resistance. I would have preferred MK Ultra or Unnatural Selection if they wanted songs from The Resistance. And that aside, based on your post, I guess it's gonna be a hard game. Oh well, I don't mind cause I don't want my guitar to gather dust, so I guess I'll grab it soon enough. The price is still high apparently...Rock Band 3 will also be on my wish list.
