In the Topic "Paris doesn't deserve to be in the game" We discussed why he really has no role as a player character. Rather he and Helen are just the catalyst for the tale. We started discussing some of the REAL heroes of the Trojans. So why not a topic that has everyone pick their top 7 both Trojans and Argives? Here are my picks, but what are yours? Tell me why? Trojans. 1. Hector- Greatest hero of the Trojans. Prince of Troy and oldest brother of Paris. His story is tragic and heroic. Loving father, and a True leader of men. Knowing the Argives were in the right, but sworn to defend Troy. Killed by Achilles. 2. Aeneas- An older warrior of Troy, son of Aphrodite and son in law of the King. He was there from the being. With the fleet commanded by Paris, when Paris murdered, stole the King of Spartha's tresury, and ran of with his wife. To the end with the destruction of Troy and the only Trojan hero to survive. He fought in every engagement, so this would be the perfect character to tell the tale from the Trojan point of view. 3. Penthesilea- Koei, like to have some powerful women in thier games, and this one has it in spades! She is the daughter of Ares, and the Queen of the Amazons. She has a tragic tale. Killed her sister in a hunting accident, and was pursued by the Furies. Lover of adventure and battle, she arrives at Troy after the death of Hector. She and her 12 warrior maidens drive the Argives back to thier ships, but is stopped by Ajax the Greater, and Achilles. She dies at Achilles hand. There is a chapter in the Illiad dedicated to her story. 4. Memnon- While not is written about Memnon, what is, is quite impressive. Son of the goddess of the dawn, Eos. He is the King of the Ethiopians. He also shows up after the defeat of Hector. The battle between he and Achilles is one of the most exciting tales in the Illiad. He dies at Achilles hand, but wounds Achilles. A great character for Koei to flesh out with stories of his exploits in Ethiopia. 5. Sarpedon- Son of Zeus, Prince and co-commander of the Lycian allies of the Trojan Army. He is there from the time of the landing of the Argives, to his death during the epic battle when the Argives are almost driven to the sea. Patroclus, Achilles friend armed and armored as Achilles kill Sarpedon, but is in turned killed by Hector, this is the event that bring Achilles back into the fight. A extremly important tale in the story of Troy. 6. Pandarus- One of the commander of Troy. Armed with a bow from Apollo, he stalked the field of battle. Wounding both the King of Spartha, and the great hero Diomedes. He is tricked by Athene to break the truce between the warring factions and thwarted again, when Athene stops his arrow from killing Menelaus, and heals the wound of Diomedes. He is killed during the battle by Diomedes. This is the same struggle that both Patroclus and Sarpedon are slain. 7. Cycnus- King of Colonae, son of Poseidon. It was said the Cychus skin was as hard as bronze. Weapons seem to deflect of him, and he boasted the he worn armor and carried a shield, like Ares worn them only for adornment. Achilles bested him, by smashing him with the boss of his shield and while stunned choked him to death by the strap of his helmet. His tale ends early in the war against Troy, but he is so interesting a character, that Koei could give him a interesting pre-tale leading up to his demise before the walls of Troy. Agrive heroes to be added later. |

Well I haven't gotten around to the Argive Heroes yet, but I thought I'd just add the names of all the Trojan Heroes I could come up with, other than the ones in the above post. Reason was two fold. One, because a member mentioned they didn't think there were many heroes mentioned in the story, and two to help those that do not know the story to be able to google up some information. Or they could just read the Greek tales..... Trojan Heroes and Personalities. Ablerus: Trojan Warrior Acamas: Trojan Hero and Leader not to be confused with.... Penthesilea sounds like a strong female add, her story sounds really tragic! And I like Cycnus, the skin thing is pretty cool. They could maybe, make his skin bronze or do something with that in his design. |

All these names are fine and dandy, but since this is freaking Koei Canada I'd wager the game will have a small cast of playable characters. |

Death should be painless, shouldn't it!? EX-Tentacle Monster DOUBLE ZETA. Because all the lolis love me. "Tentacle Grape is everything I love about hentai, but with a sweet grapey taste that makes it seem like everything's going to be okay." - Yuri Lowenthal, beloved anime voice-actor http://www.tentaclegrape.com Koei Warriors Conquerors is a failure. | |

Yes, they did say they would concentrate on a smaller number of player characters. That said, I just put of the list of Trojan characters to show the Illiad and other greek works are quite extensive. I also did it to make looking up characters easier for users on this site, that do not know much about the Illiad. Pick a name that sounds interesting, google and see what information you can find. That is why I made this topic. I picked 7 main Trojan characters, but there is at least a dozen more that I think would make interesting characters for a game. I haven't even got around to the Argives, which have even more characters, and there is more information about them also. I'll save that for a later time..... |

good work, but if i am not wrong, some of the list, including the amazon aint in the actual iliad, wich is about the last year of war, so i actually do not know if they will get in the game, (how can koei forget about a fighting chick on the other side) |

No, I'm quite certain every name I gave, which I doubled checked are all in the Illiad, (I will admit most of them are only mentioned as being slain), but they are mentioned! The last year of the siege is when the Amazons showed up, Penthesila has a chapter dedicated to her, she came with 12 warrior maidens. I found the names of the ones in the list, in my copy of the Illiad. |
