Eh to me Ujimasa wasn't a bad leader but he seemed far too content to sit idly by and maintain a passive defensive stance most of the time... If only he had taken the intiative more, like his offensive against the Oda immediately after Nobunaga died, where he demonstrated he was more than a decent commander, defeating Takigawa Kazumasu. Anyway I expect Ujimasa to get a lot more attention in SW3, given that Kenshin and Shingen had a few lines of dialogue with their respective sons' in SW2, I expect Ujimasa should get the same treatment with daddy Ujiyasu. Ujimasa wasn't passive, actually. He initiated at least three different expansionist campaigns into northern Kanto, Kozuke, and Kai-Shinano. The main thing is that by the time of Odawara Campaign, Ujimasa's west was secured by his ally Ieyasu, and most of Kanto by then was under Hojo control. The only real targets at this point were the Satake, Sanada and Uesugi: Ujimasa attacked both Satake and Sanada, and suffered for the latter because that was Hideyoshi's excuse to come siege Odawara. |
