I've been playing Left 4 Dead on PC for quite a while now. First time I tried the game, I became an instant fan of the co-op prospect of Left 4 Dead. You, with 3 other players, must survive the zombie epidemic in an FPS experience. It's a great concept...Unfortunately the novelty wears off with only 4 campaigns, 4 characters, 5 special infected, 7 guns, 2 explosives and 3 modes. Soon enough, Valve announced a sequel in already in progress. Left 4 Dead 2 was met with mixed response...even a boycott of 37,000 fans. I honestly didn't think much of it since it didn't seem too different from the first game. But as more and more info about the game was released, I'm definitely excited to play it. It's slated to release on the PC and Xbox360 in mid-November for the US Left 4 Dead 2 apparently puts more depth into the gameplay. Here's the stuff that's new: 5 New Campaigns: - The Parish - Swamp Fever - Dark Carnival - Unknown - Unknown 4 Characters: - Coach, a highschool football coach. Seems to be the Bill of the game. - Ellis, a teenage mechanic, probably the Francis of the game. - Nick, a conman, presumably the Louis of the game - Rochelle, a news reporter, obviously the Zoey of the game. New Weapons: Tier 1: - Pistols - Pump Shotty (new model) - SMG (silenced) Tier 2: - Autoshotty (SPAS) - Hunting Rifle - Assault Rifle (SCAR) Melee Weapons: - Pan - Baseball Bat - Chainsaw - Axe - Cricket Bat - Katana (WTF!?) - Machete Unknown: - Grenade Launcher: Interesting how this'll play into the game. According to gameplay vids, one shot from this gun can incap any of the survivors. - AK-47 Miscellaneous - Incendiary Ammo + Sets infected on fire upon impact. Enemies: New Common Infected: - Mudmen: Encountered in Swamp Fever, infected that rise from the swamp. Their blows obscure the vision of survivors with mud more and more with each successful hit. - Hazmat Suits: Encountered in the Parish. These infected are not affected by molotovs or incendiary ammo. - Riot Gear: Enhanced defense. Can take considerable damage before dying. Apparently, their only weak spot is their backs. - Clown Mask: Encountered in Dark Carnival. No special abilities confirmed (yet). New Specials: - The Wandering Witch: In the daytime, the Witch actually walks around instead of sitting. - The Charger: An intimidating new special infected. It has 2 attacks. It can charge at you with 3 times the running speed of survivors and knock you down. Or it can grab you like the smoker and hunter and continuously slam you into the ground (doing 10-15 damage each time). - The Spitter: New Female Infected. Designed to stop survivors from camping in one spot. It spits an orb of stomach acid that can bounce off of hard surfaces like walls. Once it hits the floor, it pops and turns into a poisonous gas that damages survivors within the area. - The Jockey: New Special Infected. A cackling hunched-back creature with agility and speed comparable to the Hunter. When the Jockey pounces on a survivor, he'll latch on, simultaneously pulling the survivor to stumble in a certain direction. This can be used in many ways, to cause survivors to stumble into a spitter's spit, or even a witch. Miscellaneous Gameplay Updates: - Apparently there's a new way to crown the witch. An axe chop straight to the skull. Edited by Hakumei, Sep 13 2009, 10:11 PM.

I'm surprised there wasn't a topic yet. I for one can't wait to get the game. I preordered it and everything

I definitely agree. Though, I haven't preordered mine since Best Buy usually sells valve games in GREAT abundance, and their copies tend to be cheaper than steam too. First thing I'm going to do when I get the game is try to axe the wandering witch in the back of the head
