Couldn't find a good spot to post this, so I'll just post it here. (Sorry if I put this in the wrong section) A friend and myself are planning to go to the London Expo. We've understood that there is one in Octobre, but we would like to go to the one in March/April. I don't know when exactly. Problem is, we want to reservate a weekend off to go to the expo, but we have no information what so ever. I hope anyone could provide me with a bit of information I could use. (Preferably someone who knows London a bit) What I would like to know: - The exact time of the Expo in 2010 (The one near March/April) - The Streetname - Any hotels or resorts where we can stay during the weekend. (Close near the Expo and a bit on budget) - Any means of transportation that comes close to the expo/hotel/resort I believe we're going by the Euroline, straight to London. So we could use a little help on how we could get to our hotel/resort. I would like to keep this thread open, incase more questions pop up in our minds. Many thanks in advance. |

^____^ Strategist_jeffo, the closest Hotel I have witnessed London Expo is the Hotel Ibis/Novotel which is just outside of the Expo!! Most Cosplayers stay there for the Weekend, and there is a small field in front where you see people meeting and having picnics! Custom House Hotel is also very near! There is also Crowne Plaza and Ramada! ^^ Usually when a new Expo is Announced, it is said on the Expo Site on the Front Page, and the details they get about it will also be updated with more information. So they will have more specific information about the March/April one when it comes closer to that date! ^.^ Normally the time the Expo starts is around 9:00 or 10:00AM depending on whether you book extra early. Again, you can do that when it gets closer to the date. They finish at around 5:00/6:00PM, but there may also be some extra late night things you can do- it is best to check out the Forum, and those Events will be highlighted in the Topics. The Place which the Convention actually takes place is in a building called Custom House for ExCel. If you took the London Underground Tube, the nearest station to this place would be Canning Town, which is on the Jubilee Line. Depending on how you travel there, you might also need to take the Dockland Light Railway, which takes you straight to the Custom House for ExCel. Either that, or there will be some buses going there if the Dockland Light Railway/tubes are not working, and there should be lots of guidance and signs if that is the case! I have personally never stayed in a Hotel there, and have usually travelled straight from the Tubes, and the Railway. But it seems that Premier Travel Inn is a cheaper place to stay at. More are Travelodge, Etap, Express by Holiday Inn. Most of these Hotels are very close to the DLR (Dockland Light Railway), and if so it shouldn't be a problem to get to the Expo from these places!! If you do take the Tube, the tube map will look like this: http://www.bulgarianlondon.com/bg_lon/bg/images/tube_map.gif Here you will see that if you follow the Jubilee line, it will lead you to Canning Town, where you can then take the Dockland Light Railway to the Custom House for ExCel. Also the Royal Victoria Dock, is where most of the nearer Hotels are located, and the ExCel Centre. It is literally a Dock! =P Normally the entrance cost is £10 per person~ ^-^ Phew!!! ^___^ Hehe!! I hope that sums up most of what you are looking for! ^.^ Feel free to ask any more questions if you have any!! ^___^ I know how confusing it can get! Many thanks, GoDQ. I've seen a couple of close range hotels on the main site, so that shouldn't be a problem. One more thing that I'd like to know, is if there is unlimited acces. I've seen the entrance fees, and you can pay a ticket at the door. Only I don't know when the expo reaches a limit yes or no. I've also seen nothing of koei on the site, but that must be just my limited searching abilities on that site. Anyway, looking forward it! I hope my friend and myself will be able to obtain a cosplay outfit (Him being Magoichi, me being Hideyoshi) for the expo  I'll leave some more questions when it pops up in mind. |

Meepers!! @__@ As far as I know, the Expo has no limit. Hehe, that is awesome!! ^v^ I am sure the Cosplay will go well!! KOEI has come to every Expo so far, but if they are going to the March/April one, they will be announced around those coming Months, but not now. ^-^ Just keep up to date with the Site!! Hehe!! |
