I think his translation in the Famitsu scan mentioned that his personality and Ginchiyo's clash a bit when it comes to battle, so I don't think she's just going to dutifully follow him around. So, it doesn't look like Ginchiyo's going to lose her independence. I think Muneshige's story might actually be about him proving to himself that he's fit to be the new leader of the Tachibana. Any way it happens, I too hope for at least one confrontation with Tadakatsu. |

An addition i didn't expect, but is welcomed gladly  Anyway, he looks great, I actually like the sword shield combo, its new to the SW universe, so i think it will work, and i don't mind the "knight in shining armour" design, and even with him, i don't think Koei will make Ginchyio another housewife, but with what they did to Nouhime, anything is possible  And there is something about his eyes, they're very mesmorising, i like them! So, this sengoku eye-candy is a great addition to SW. The inevetable Tadakatsu X Muneshige duel will be EPIC! |

When I first saw the picture of Muneshige I thought, *oh crap... another sheild and sword character... great* However after much after-thought I finally came round to realising that this is SW3, its gonna be awsome and if anyone can make the sheild, sword combo work its Koei! (Xing Cai technically carries a trident thingy so she sure as hell dont count  )Also the fact that he is a possible rival to Tadakatsu add to his ever growing awsomness. |

Well a great add I might say. And as far as I remember, it was Muneshige that was called the Tadakatsu of the west. Either way, both would've made great characters, and hopefully KOEI will do this guy justice. |

Muneshige's design's pretty damn cool, and the sword and shield combo is gonna work really well. Hopefully, Muneshige's got a good personality and moveset and Ginchiyo's personality isn't diminished due to Muneshige being added I'd like to see this conversation happen Muneshige: Guess you couldn't stay away from me? Ginchiyo: That and I don't think that I'd let you have the fun. Muneshige: ! |

Same here. Seeing as how he is compared to Tadakatsu and not vice versa. Though from the trailer looks like his ms will be interesting to say the least. And based on the short gameplay clip we saw, I'm expecting him to be a normal type. |

When I first saw him, I instantly remembered several Yugioh!: the Abridged Series jokes. Namely: "Now hailing Admiral Handsome!" and the disclaimer about Duke Devlin: "He's very pretty. See? See how pretty he is? I'd like to run my fingers through his hair, and I'm just a voice." He looks like a good addition, though, and I'm hoping his shield will be incorporated in his moveset. I don't mean just shield-throwing for a charge attack, I'm talking some Spartan-style beatdowns. |

That was on my mind too. I'm hoping we'll see him actually pound people with his shield rather than the usual shoulder rams and shield tosses. And I'm hoping he doesn't get a Toshiie pulled on him where the only time he uses his shield is during charge attacks; that would be kinda upsetting. As for his relationship with Ginchiyo, I can definitely see their being some kind of competition between the two. I just hope they aren't all lovey dovey from the get go. And here's to him getting some interaction with the other powerhouse characters (Tadakatsu, Keiji, etc.) |

Well, I'll start with postitives. First, it's nice to have another Tachibana in the story. His character design is pretty good too. It seems to be a good move on Koei's part for adding him. Negatives, his moveset doesn't look particularly interesting. I also don't exactly see him as Ginchiyo's husband, more like a brother or something. I always viewed Ginchiyo with a more muscular, gruffy type of guy. Muneshige just looks too pretty for that position. That's all for now. Like with the other new characters, I won't be able to fully give my opinion until I actually play as him. |

Can you guys explain why Muneshige is considered the Honda Tadakatsu of the West, i never read much about him but it intrigues me a lot as to why..was it his prowess? strength? his UBER awesomeness? please tell |

The only reason he earned that title is because Hideyoshi was the one who compared the two. Hideyoshi was flattering Muneshige because he had established good relations with Muneshige, or was in the process of doing so; it depends on whether he said it before or after the Kyushu campaign, but that's the reason. Muneshige's main feats (read: only feats) are fighting bravely in the Korean campaigns, aiding the Toyotomi in their Kyushu invasion (this is primarily why Hideyoshi would compliment him), and besieging Otsu for Mitsunari. That's about it. He really doesn't match Tadakatsu, all things considered; it was more Hideyoshi attemping to get on Muneshige's good side than it was a genuine show of respect for Muneshige's "astounding" abilities.

Ohhh i see..so that's the reason. I knew he helped Hideyoshi during the Korean campaigns so it makes sense that he would praise him like that..I bet its an honor to be complimented by one of the great unifiers like that. Thanks a lot! |

You're selling Moonshiggy a bit short there. His first accomplishment was in 1581, the same year he married Ginchiyo. He and his father engaged on a campaign against the rebel Akizuki, who were former Otomo retainers who declared independence. In the battle, Moonshiggy shot a certain Horie Bizen in the right arm from horseback, causing Horie to ditch his polearm and charge Moonshiggy, who grappled with Horie until a retainer killed Horie. In 1584, Dosetsu and Takahashi Shoun(Moonshiggy's father) left Tachibana-yama Castle with many of their troops to assist Otomo Sorin's campaign in Chikugo, leaving Moonshiggy in charge. Akizuki Tanezane took the opportunity to siege Tachibana-yama with 8,000 troops while the veterans were gone. Moonshiggy countered with a night raid and subsequent fire attack that defeated the Akizuki. In 1586, after Shoun died in a brave defense of Iwaya Castle against a Shimazu army almost 30 times bigger than his paltry force of 700, Moonshiggy led a successful sneak attack from Tachibana-yama on the Shimazu's base camp, and is said to have killed a hundred men in the fighting; he soon would retake Iwaya and two other castles from the Shimazu, though ultimately Otomo Sorin would still go to Kyoto to beg Hideyoshi's assistance. After Hideyoshi came and kicked the Shimazu's ass, he affirmed Moonshiggy's place in Chikugo as a 132,000 koku fief, and also made the Tachibana independent from the Otomo to be a direct retainer of the Toyotomi. Moonshiggy was the only Western commander during the Sekigahara campaign to win his battle(alongside Mouri Suetsugu and Kobayakawa Hidekane, who were his co-commanders in the siege on Otsu), compared to Mitsunari, Kanetsugu and Onogi Shigekatsu(who was supposed to siege the Hosokawa's castle but half-assed the siege.) So, yeah, there's a lot of solid reason for Moonshiggy to be the strongest of the West(at the time, of course, since guys like Dosetsu were dead by then) compared to Tadakatsu in the East. I think you are a bit wrong. Ginchiyo was 11 in 1581, so I supposed it was one-year early. And to add the point, he was also at Osaka, fighting for the Tokugawa. |

The East has Honda Tadakatsu, but the West has Tachibana Muneshige! He looks really cool, like stated earlier gentle, but also a really versed in combat. His line in the Trailer really impressed me: "Dont make me laugh." Can't wait to see the full version of that scene.

Well no doubt he is definently the second most handsome *coughsupersexyhotnesscough* man in Sengoku Musou  (My first being Masamune  )His western style looks very interesting and in the promo video he seems to be exciting to play as I'll definently want to use him in NNM mode maybe see him riding a bear  . He'll probably be maybe my fifth or sixth character I unlockI hope Ginchiyo's relationship with Muneshige is like Zhu Rong's and Meng Huo's in Dynasty Warriors. Where Ginchiyo is more of the one in control and being more passionate and fierce in battle  .He sort of reminds me of Nagamasa as Muneshige looks like the romanticist type plus in the scans it says he wants to be the cool hero type so Ginchiyo probably will get annoyed and pissed from that . Ha ha I can see a conversation right now:Muneshige: "~OH GINCHIYO DON'T WORRY MY WUV I'LL PROTECT YO-" Ginchiyo: "STFU I'M TRYING NOT TO GET SKEWERED HERE!!!" Come on ya know you want it to happen |
