Ok since I'm studying to become a nutritional doctor and am currently I bodybuilder I thought that I would make a fitness guide for anyone who wants to start working out but doesn't know what they should do. So if your planning or interested in starting a fitness program or just going to the gym, post a little bit about yourself and your fitness goals, I'll be glad to assist you with any questions you have and even make up a workout plan accordingly (if you wish). Also, I can make up a meal plan according to what your personal goals are (lose weight, gain muscle, tone up, etc). I hope some of you will find my knowledge helpful.

Well, let's see...

Right now I'm 180 pounds. My doc says I'm not too bad, there are far a lot worse people then I am, but I'm trying to be around 150 since I'm 5'7.

I've been going to the gym for the past 2 months with my friend. Every weekday we do it systematically; we have an abs workout every day and depending on the day, arms, shoulders, back, etc.

But all this time I've been doing one wrong thing; I lift more, but I do less reps. That has given me muscle true, but I still have the fat, and now I weigh even more. Since then I've been on a "less weights, more reps" workout.

In addition to that, sometimes during weeknights I jog around my subdivision with my friend for 30 minutes.

For my meals, I've been on a one cup of rice diet, and that's pretty much it. I can eat as much as I want, provided I don't go overboard with my rice.

Yea I think 180 is the average for a 5'7 Male around the age of 20 (I beleive I'm not positive). Ok if you continue to do heavy weights with less reps (typically 6-8 reps) you'll gain mass but not loss weight which is your goal. So try to focus on lighter weight and try to do 5-7 sets of 15 reps for whatever your doing, this will burn more fat. Also, before you work out ry to runh for at least 15 minutes before your workout. For best results you should do 30 minutes on the teadmile or elliptical however, 15 will due. Another advantage of doing cardio before you work out is that it acts as a natural stimulant which will enable you to have more endurance throught you workout. Also, I have a meal plan already prepaird for people with your goals so if you want it just let me know. Now what are you doing for yourr ab workout. It's really good that your getting abs in 5 times a week but if you are doing it wrong you won't see the results you want. When I go into the gym I always see people doing ab excercises wrong, it bugs me lol. If your doing machine weights just remember that it doesn't matter how much weight you do but to always have a slow, continous movement when doing ab excercises. That's also applys to basically everything else you do as well since your trying to tone up. Ok I hooped this helped. If you have an questions then just reply back.
