This is one of the coolest things I have heard lately... Koei really knows how to suck all my money away.
With it being Koei/Tecmo I could easily go for it either turning out a typical Koei hack and slash or an action adventure type more along the lines of something NG. Part of the classic fan in me hopes that they make the rating high enough, to give it that classic over exaggerated Hokuto no Ken gore.  Though depending on how well that was delivered it could end up making it seem too sarcastic and less overall epic. |

I think there are Three options 1. DOA version of Northern Star (please don't end after defeating raoh this time ><) 2. Ninja Gaiden Sigma style 3. Musou, but that.... may not work with this game unless you see dead bodies and I mean BLOODY BODIES everywhere o.o I really want this game to be Musou style lol because I love Rei The green shirt south fists, so cool! Wow! Finally there's a chance to play a Hokuto No Ken game even for us european. It should be a cross over between Ninja Gaiden and the Warriors series. I wonder how the various techniques will be used, if they can be assigned to a combination (example: R1+square, like God of War 2) or if they will be a QTE, depending on the context). The last one is pretty likely against the enemy leaders, you can finish them after they become weaker. I'm looking forward to slay thugs with the Rei, the warrior elegant as a swan. |

YES! YES!!!!! If done correctly, this game would be the stuff of so much MANTASTIC AWESOME. Hell, the only thing I perhaps question is why they didn't go for Souten No Ken. That manga's storyline basically utilizes the "3 Kingdoms" as a backdrop for Hokuto Shin Ken. It would have been RIGHT UP Koei's alley!

I didn't like Souten No Ken. It's the Futurama of Hokuto No Ken (Futurama sucks compared to The Simpsons). as in, no where nearly as good as what made the franchise popular in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also hated Souten No Ken's art style too, I didn't like the HNK remake episodes either with the new art, the soul of HNK wasn't there in either of them. Hokuto No Ken already had multiple sides. There was Kiba clan, Kenoh's army, Souther's army, the Nanto Goshasei (South Dipper Five Chariot Stars) armies, Shin's main force was the King organization, which the Golan commandos, Jackal's Warriors, and others served under. Souten No Ken felt more like a mafia story instead of a real full scale war like it was in Hokuto No Ken's post apocalyptic world. Based on the teaser, Koei is definitely choosing the superior of the two stories. So many legends were born from Hokuto No Ken. |

...Huh? Among other things, I don't get what you're saying when it comes to the art style. It's the same basic style, made by Buronson. The original art, as depicted in the original HnK manga, has stayed largely the same throughout the years. The 80s anime show, love it, but it has largely cheaper animation that didn't always adhere to the art style 100% (which is why the quality of the anime often varies from episode to episode). And I, for one, liked Souten's story direction. It did more to explore the legends of Chinese martial arts, by doing more to examine its history. And for the sake of the series, it does so in a grand fashion, even utilizing elements of the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms as a nice backdrop. If all you know about Souten no Ken is through the (admittedly) shoddy anime released a lil while ago? Give the manga a chance. Just like the original Hokuto no Ken manga, it's way better than its anime successor, and goes far further than the anime's storyline. ....And I'll choose to ignore that "Futurama < Simpsons" remark. For now.

Does Kasumi Kenshiro still smoke in the manga? Ugh, I really hate Souten No Ken. It can do all it wants with providing a deep story and rich history but the bad direction they are going with it doesn't help at all. It can't compare with Hokuto No Ken on various levels, even the manga. I'm shocked Buronson is involved with Souten No Ken. I guess it's just how badly it was drawn and animated in the anime by the art team that got involved. But anyways, I don't like it's scenario and it's characters seem no where near as memorable as the ones in Hokuto No Ken. The fights I've seen are not even as creative and brutal as the ones in HNK. Souten No Ken is not as fun and over the top and intense and doesn't touch the core of humanity as profoundly as Hokuto No Ken 1 and 2 have during that age of desperation and conflict. but anyways, that's that. It's going to be mind boggling waiting to see screenshots for this upcoming title. Does Koei have the right design and plan for this? Really no other team they have other than Omega Force can do Hokuto No Ken justice. |

This new game looks so interesting! The graphics are lovely, the music is so intense too. From what everyone is saying, the story looks complicated so like lots of things can happen. It looks so exciting! I've never heard of Hokuto no Ken, but now this makes me want to look it up ^o^ Can't wait to see more from KT~ |
