Takenaka Hanbei has been coinfirmed as a playable Character in SW3 He is known as the Zhuge Liang of the Sengoku Period, and Died young, at the age of 35. Talk about this 'Young' Boy here! Edited by Snicks, Sep 27 2009, 06:37 PM.

Okay, so I've always wanted Hanbei to be in SW, now he is here. Judging from his looks, I'll say that he'll be Hideyoshi's apprentice of some kind. FYI, I was "Holy cow! It's Hanbei!" when I first saw him, cause I'm happy that finally the Kongming of Sengoku arrives to the Musou universe. |

Hes got a nice, fun looking design going, and his weapon looks insteresting (looks like a sun dial) plus, judging from that pic, he also weilds a naginata aswell.

i think his design is really well done and i agree with Miyazaki that his weapon does look like a sun dial (ideal comedy weapon :P) would be cool if he did have a naginata as well |

I'm looking forward to his personality. Sweet child who wants to be friends with everyone or arrogant little brat (aka SW1 Masamune)? I expect him to join Hideyoshi after Inabayama and possibly going all the way to Odawara. His weapon is similiar to Cao Ren, shield with blade attached to it. I have no complaints about Ren's moveset (WO series, enough said) and I don't think Hanbei's going to disappoint me either. |

So Hanbei's the nice one who seems approachable whilst Kanbei.....well, Kanbei seems as though he'll have a different approach. It could be interesting to see what the Hashiba camp atmosphere is like if they add Takamatsu as a battle. Good to see he's finally been added none the less. Hanbei's the nice strategist, Kanbei's the psycho, and Mitsunari's the "cold fish". Hanbei's design and weapon looks cool, it looks like a sun-dial or an oversized version of Cao Ren's old weapon I can imagine Hanbei being really childish and happy like Hideyoshi |

Kanbei and Hanbei... won't take long before people get confused with those names . KOEI could fix the problem easily by calling Hanbei as Shigeharu or Kanbei as Yoshitaka/Josui.

What's the bet Nene is going to mother the poor kid to death!!  Hopefully his service to the Oda is taken into account (come to think of it, they could actually use a strategist) and he's not just with the Toyotomi... And I can already see him having a rivalry with Kanbei. |

i'd say from the look of it his weapon isn't going to work the same as Cao Ren's - from the way it looks the blade may swing around the shield compared to Cao ren's buckler blade that he could remove the blade from the shield which was also double ended - although i'm probably completly wrong lol. So we could see a young vibrant lad or a complete idiot like masamune sw1 (although i did like him in 1 xD) i can see it now - Hanbei thinking of strategy's at a fast pace - Mitsunari sarcastic as ever and Kanbei not saying much at all (he just has one of those faces that says i'm thinking don't talk) |

I seriously hope this is how it turns out. I'd love a three-way competition between them. Also, I get the feeling Hideyoshi's story will incorporate his Oda service. Now, if the same applies for Nene, then we'd have the ideal child for her in the form of Hanbei. I can see it now: Hanbei tries to strike up a conversation with Kanbei, gets the cold shoulder at every turn, and then tells Nene that Kanbei isn't "playing nice", which leads to maternal Nene scolding the dour Kanbei.

I'll admit, I did not want Hanbei in SW3 at all once Koei revealed Kanbei, but they managed to design him just the way to get me to accept his inclusion. Another pretty trap-looking character besides Ranmaru? wktk! Edited by Seraphil, Sep 28 2009, 04:02 AM.

You're glad to have a smart young kid to relate to in the game? I'm already confused by Hanbei/Kanbei. I can't even remember who was who in Kessen III. I know atleast one of them was.  His weapon does indeed look unusual. I can sort of see him maybe being rivals with Ranmaru? You know, they both think their own lords are better? Haha. |

It's nice to see another new character in SW3 plus with a new weapon it seems ^^ Wonder how he uses that sort of "shield" XD lol this Zhuge Liang has a strange weapon for a strategist XD His look is ok even if he looks very young compared to others strategists. |

Hmm, not really liking the weapon. Was hoping for something more symbolic of his prowess as a strategist like a saihai, the weapon that Mouri Motonari wielded in the first Sengoku Basara. |
