Hey all.

Let's talk possible SW3 voice acting.
Who do we want to see returning to voice our favorites characters? Who do we hope will drop dead never to return to the series?
Post your thought here!

Now, I'm not too big on knowing many VA names, aside from my favorites (*ahem* LEX LANG  )... but here's who I'd like to return/not return (most notably):

Nobunaga: BRING BACK SW1 VOICE! No more monotonous drone from SW2, thank you very much! Nobunaga many not harbor many emotions, but he certainly needs SOME inflection in his voice. My god I want to punch his face in SW2 for talking like he had a cold.

Noh: Mary Elizabeth McGlen, yes? Have her return from SW1. Or hire me for a better value. I can do her version of Noh. Just don't want to hear her crack whore voice anymore, kthnx.

Hideyoshi: Ehhh. He's Hideyoshi I'll adore him no matter how PAINFUL his voice is! Personally I didn't mind his SW1 voice though the SW2 look is more suited to his regal look. (I miss SW1 Hideyoshi in general, though I'm the only person who feels that way it seems -_- ) Even the WO was not as awful as some people made it out to be. But I guess stick with SW2.

Ranmaru: SW2/WO! Perfect voice for him. We all know it's a chick but it's better than the guy trying to sound like a girl from SW1!

The rest are pretty good in my opinion... I'm only terribly picky about my favorites. :P
Though I wouldn't mind having LEX LANG back as Magoichi. ;)

I'm sure many of you are more knowledgeable about VA's and could hand pick your dream voice actors for certain characters! Haha, so post away!

Okuni: Karen Strassman! (Or her WO voice) that is her best voice by far. No question.

Lady No: I prefer Cindy Robinson (WO voice) I love the deep voice for her but it all depends on her appearance.

Ranmaru: He needs his SW2 voice! Tara Platt didn't do that good of a voice for him in WO...

Kunoichi: G. K. Bowes! She hasn't had any other voice actress than her! Although I think closer to her SW1 voice since Shang Xiang sounds like her WO2.

Nene: I hope her WO voice comes back. I don't know who it is but I preferred it much more than her SW2 voice...

IDK who else though...I can't think of anyone...XD

Get Okuni's from SW1.

That'll save the game.

(Aww yeah, first post in a long while and it's a terrible one. =D)

I have only one, single request. Daran Norris. However, seeing as he's never done a SW role and hasn't returned to the DW cast in the last two games (Special and Empires), I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I'd like some voices from the first game to come back, though. Mainly Nobunaga, Noh, Shingen. I just love Richard Epcar, even though he has only one voice.

Hmmm... Great minds think alike. To whom would you assign him? I've slated him as Katsuie. In my mind, I think it would be a good match. Don't know about in practice.

Hmmmm... A topic about VAs. NICE.

Mitsunari - Pierre Chaves (SW2) needs to return. I don't know if it was the same guy in WO, but Mitsunari just sounds better with his sort of throaty voice. It was hot. ;)

Yukimura - I don't mind if his VA from SW2 returns, and I LOVE Johnny Yong Bosch's version. If either one of them comes back, I'll be content.

Kenshin - the guy who was his VA in Warriors Orochi. He was awesome. 'Nuff said.

Mitsuhide - JULIEN ELIA. That's all.

Ranmaru - WENDI JEWERS. That's all.

Noh - either the lady from SW or the lady from SW2. That other chick was not too great. <_<

Sakon - TOM WHELAN. That's all.

Hideyoshi - chuck the VA in Warriors Orochi, and bring back the awesome guy who was in SW2.

And lastly, Keiji - this is probably wishful thinking, but STEVEN JAY BLUM! Why'd he have to leave! Since he probably won't return, then any of his VAs will do.

Everybody else I'm either content enough with their voices, or just don't care. :D
Thank you, Cao Pi for this beautiful sig. :D

Hm, was this his SW2 or WO voice? I liked his voice in SW1, which I believe was Michael Gough. Although I don't remember having problems with his SW2 voice... Michael Gough was spot on.

I usually don't care for this stuff, but right now i want one voice actor to return and that is Kanetsugu's. I'm afraid i'm too fond of his SW2 voice.

And i don't want something like his JP voice, sounds pretty generic for me. :/

Katsuie would be alright, but the guy they had in SW2XL did a well enough job on his own. I was actually thinking along the lines of Fukushima Masanori. For whatever reason, I can picture him doing a great job with characterizing him. Maybe my opinion will change when I hear how Masanori sounds in Japanese.

And you'd be correct. I also loved MG, hence my desire to see him return.

EDIT: @ChibiGingi - I'm still not sure where I stand on Masanori. Norris has a certain no-nonsense style, IMO, and I have a hunch that Masanori will be portrayed as hot-headed and fierce (but this is just a hunch, I could very well be wrong!). If he is like how I imagine, I think I might give him Doug Stone. Still undecided, though.

Have you read Norris' past works? Feel free to give it a try; he has a wider array of voices than the Lu Meng 'no-nonsense' voice. Considering he also does Cosmos and Timmy Turner's dad in Fairly Odd Parents, I can picture him doing a slight mixture of Timmy's Dad and Spotwood from Team America for Masanori.

Doug Stone, though, is also a good choice though. Just so long as it's not too modeled after Gan Ning. Don't want if completely obvious that 'hey, it's Gan Ning with a pompadour haircut!'

Ach! :o
That's right! I completely forgot he did those voices. Now that you've reminded me of his range, I think he'd be a good fit. :D

I also wonder who they would get to do Goemon, were he to return. Bob Papenbrook isn't exactly an option, and I wasn't overly fond of his WO VA. -_-

Sucks that it's going to be an either/or affair when it comes to the VAs for SW3. Ideally, I would have liked some from SW1 and then some from SW2 but that's just being wishful. If they were to stick to one studio, then I'd prefer the ones who did SW1 because I preferred them as a whole to Agile Sound.

McGlynn is one that I really want to see return. Epic in all senses.

Every SW1 cast member reprising their roles for this game, and for the SW2/3/new characters, koei picking quality acting that's on par with SW1. One can wish...

An entirely new set of voices, as too many of SW1's and SW2's sucked, with only a handful of good ones, and it's impossible that I'll get SW2's Ieyasu'n'Motochika and SW1's Kenshin'n'Magoichi back in the same game.

Edit: Actually, screw all that. What I really want is Koei to get a NEW damn voice director, because lord the guy who managed SW1 was terrible, and SW2's was only somewhat better.

Ultimately, I guess it doesn't matter, because I'll be playing this with the proper, superior Japanese voices.

Well, I seriously doubt Koei will keep the original Japanese VA track, and unfortunately the Wii isn't region free. Not unless you mod it, and I'm just too lazy for that. Either way, I can still hope... thanks to WO2 PSP I at least got to hear how the SW2/SW2XL characters sounded.

@Manji - Julien Elia voiced Mitsuhide in SW2, but I dunno about WO. The voices sound similar enough, so it could be him. *shrugs*

I just know that I like him more than Mitsuhide's SW1 VA...which is funny because it seems that everybody else prefers Michael Gough!

Really? I thought Leroy Simon Bean did the voice in SW2. Oh wait, I'm thinking of SW2XL. Never mind.

And in WO, I think his voice was provided by Darrel Guilbeau, but I'm not positive. As for my preference, it's not that that I dislike any of them; I just think Gough did a better job. Bean/Elia were pretty good, and I thought Guilbeau was okay (if a tad too young for Mitsuhide). Gough made Mitsuhide sound more refined to me.

Mitsunari's original SW2 voice of course, that was one of the main reasons I like him. xD
It suited him; though his second VA wasn't that bad I still prefer the original.

Also though I don't play her too much I liked Noh's actress from SW2. I took her more seriously then rather than now with her wispy and close to a hiss of a voice. ;)
