Gameplay System
There is not much difference on gameplay feeling compared to previous games.
  • Control will be more optimized on classic controller rather than remote controller. Here's the known list of buttons used for classic controller.
    D-pad Left/Right/Down: Scroll/Use items
    D-pad Up: Call horse
    Left stick: Move
    Right stick: Move Camera
    L1: Block/Camera reposition
    L2: Change Map
    R1: Use Special
    R2: Roll
    Y: Normal attack
    X: Charge attack
    B: Jump
    A: Musou attack
  • The game will introduce timed button presses primarily for Special characters, producing advantage rather than the usual button mashing. In case of Kanbei, If you just mash the R1+Triangle button, he will only summon 1 orb. But if you use timing on the pressing, he will summon 3 orbs.
  • The sphere bar on the left is named Rengi gauge. It is mainly used to unleash the new techniques in this game described below
  • A stronger musou attack, Musou Ougi - Kaiden, is added. When the Rengi gauge is full, pressing the Musou attack button will result in Kaiden being used.
  • There will be also a new technique called Eigi (lit. Shadow Technique) which will also use up the Rengi gauge. During attack, by pressing Jump button, the attack will be immediately canceled to unleash this technique. Eigi's usefulness is breaking enemy guard instantly and for creating combos.
  • Musou gauge have 3 bars like before, but are used individually, thus you can use three Musou attacks in a row now
  • Sidestep is possible by holding block button, then pressing any direction and the jump button
  • All characters can now call horses
  • There are 3 types of weapons: Normal, Power and Speed
  • Secret weapons are obtainable
  • There are now other equipments other than weapons: Armor which gives defense/HP-related skills, Gauntlet which give attack skills, Footwear which give speed/regen skills, and Saddle which lets you ride a horse from the start of the stage
  • Other than the saddle, the equipments can be upgraded at a blacksmith with materials gained at stages

Other known informations
  • There are 3 main storylines here, with focus on certain characters/clans
    1. Sengoku 3 Heroes - Nobunaga, Hideyoshi & Ieyasu
    2. Kantou 3 Kingdoms - Takeda, Uesugi & Hojo
    3. Sekigahara Young Warriors - Kanetsugu, Yukimura, Mitsunari
  • Yoshimoto, Kotarou, Toshiie, Nouhime, Ranmaru, Okuni and Katsuie do not have Muso Modes
  • There is a Gimmick feature where certain stages like Osaka and Odawara have things like cannons and carrier eagles you can use to gain an advantage in the battle
  • Characters are now unlocked by purchasing with koku earned from battles
  • There will be a new mode 村雨城 Murasame Castle Mode, which is based on an old NES game 謎の村雨城 Nazo no Murasamejou. You can also play as the game protagonist 鷹丸 Takamaru (Charge-typed moveset) here. The four castle bosses will also appear.
  • Edit General Mode (aka. CAW) will be included here
  • There is a special story for your created character, 戦国史 Sengoku History mode, which will span from the beginning to the end of Sengoku era. Downloadable content will be present in this mode in the form of downloadable scenarios packs to play through.
  • There will be network utilization such as online play and priced DLCs
