Sergeant Posts: 23 Group: Members Member #23,537 Joined: September 18, 2009 Gender Male	I am wondering everyone's opinion on who shined as the greatest leader on the Samurai Warriors series. It doesn't have to go by history, nor does your opinion have to be solely on the representation (if you like the moveset and character-looks and voted for them makes the character shine as well. ) If the person you want is not on the poll, I'm sorry.. I just put the characters that I know run a "kingdom" type of army. Some of the characters I might of forgot, but your opinion matters to me (whether or not it gets recorded on the poll). I will think on this.. Hmmm.. Also, you can vote for two of them (since some people might consider some equally as capable).

I am now slightly regretting my vote and thinking of Hideyoshi since he was the first to conquer the whole of Japan. However I do think Nobunaga is responsible for Hideyoshi becoming so powerful.

Nobunaga Oda seems like a leader just by looking at the way he acts toward his enemy. I guess some people will not vote, until Hojo is played in his story mode, and possibily Mori/Mouri as well. I feel so dumbfounded by not knowing to wait. I think Kenshin, Shingen, and Nobunaga are the only ones who actually commanded the armies with great tactics (game-wise)! I should have considered generals as well! Because they were great too. Hideyoshi was extremely great leader to come from peasant status to leader! But that's by history standards.

It's not the same kind of admiration they give Nobunaga. They make the Demon King stand head and shoulders above his peers, but even he is shown to have some flaws (such as his at-times arrogance). Shingen, however, just stands on a pedestal of his own. He's made out to be this kind of brave, noble-hearted saint, when in reality he was a rather calculating and iron-fisted man. He deplaced his own father just to secure his seat of power. Don't get me wrong. I don't dislike Shingen because of this. He was a warlord, and there's no room for absolute benevolence in war. I just wish he wasn't portrayed as such a chivalrous and unparalleled leader (especially because this has resulted in Kenshin not getting his due, IMO). He's potrayed as virtually infallible while he's still alive in the game. The only person who even had a legitimate chance of defeating him was Kenshin. While that may change in SW3, right now it stands that way. I would've tied him and Hideyoshi though. As Hideyoshi is portrayed as somewhat unorthodox but great and powerful nonetheless. Getting the greatest leaders and warriors of Japan to fight for him.

He schools all the Oda officers at Tedorigawa (with some hilarious quotes along the way) and is the only one capable of matching wits with Shigen.

Shingen is overrated but not said by me, yet according to historians of our time. They say that Kenshin as well as several others were better. I don't have a direct reliable source to put a link at this time. Historians argue over his tactics, but I can't seem to remember where I saw this.. Hmm.

He's arrogant, kills hundreds of people in the name of "honor", he mocks almost everyone (he even calls Tadakatsu a meathead at some point ) and shows little respect to his enemies and to some of his allies (Kiyomasa and Masanori in particular) . That's how Mitsunari's supposed to be, if you ask me. Sure, when you play with Yukimura or Kanetsugu, he's potrayed as "Mr. Goody Goody", but things take a drastic change when you're playing with Eastern Army. I especially like his comment in Sekigahara if Masanori and/or Naomasa are defeated while playing with the Eastern Army "Goodbye... traitor" "It seems that the four Tokugawa Guardians come highly overrated" (oh come, that's big slap in the face for someone like Naomasa )

First Lieutenant Posts: 109 Group: Members Member #21,305 Joined: March 18, 2009 Gender Male	I voted for Hideyoshi and Nobunaga Hideyoshi managed to conquer the whole of Japan (in the game) just to make everyone happy and as my sister says when she heard this when she played him "Ah bless him isn't he lovely" And Nobunaga got the best out of his officers and even made mitsuhide and magoichi regret killing him I would have voted for motchika if he was included though I mean, didn't Koei make his Shikoku all about making sure his retainers survived?
