Wow, our first female NPC. Sounds very interesting. I guess this means that she'll probably be playable in an expansion, I can't really see them keeping her on the sidelines. I'm not well versed in Japanese history so I haven't heard of her, I wonder how she'll play out. |

Like many figures from the era, there's not a lot of translated info on her. Here's what I know: Aya was a daughter of Nagao Tamekage and elder sister of Kagetora(who became Kenshin later.) She married their distant cousin Nagao Masakage, and had two sons with him, the second being Nagao Akikage, who would be adopted by Kenshin after Masakage's death in a freak accident and be named Uesugi Kagekatsu. Aya would become a nun and take the name of Sentouin around this time. It's said she was the one to suggest that Kanetsugu become Kagekatsu's attendant, and then of course later became his chief retainer and strategist. |

Yep, i was wrong about that being Kagekatsu. Well, its the first UNPC that is a female. I still think: Uesugi Kagekatsu Takeda Katsuyori And *sigh* Seems so unlikely, but Sanada Nobuyuki |

That sounds really cool, thanks for the info Seraphil. So, she was instrumental in Kanetsugu gaining rank in a way. I look forward to seeing their interactions then. I could see a possible attraction between them if KOEI forgo to portray her as a nun. With that said, I'd actually like them to. Just to see a female character who's different than the others. |

I don't see any sort of attraction possible. Aya was probably not too unlike a surrogate mother to Kanetsugu considering his own family circumstances(his mother died when he was still a young teenager,) and she was definitely one of the oldest members of the Uesugi clan as well. I would much rather see an older, wiser woman character in her. |

I wouldn't hold my breath on that. With the looks of SW3 She is going to have as much sex appeal as possible in a "T" rated game. But anything is possible i suppose, if Koei has any respect of the female body they might squeeze in some Nun atributes for her design. Though we did see her in that hooded cloak, it could be similar to her design. Still, she will have and interesting story, hopefully we will get to play it someday. |

Fair enough I suppose though anything can happen with KOEI. I mean we have (apparently) Motonari as a younger man. However, I would much rather see them go the route that you've presented and I'll continue to hope for that. In any case, I'm looking to seeing more about her. |

We have enough "fan service" anyway, what's wrong with a mature female who isn't romantically linked with any of the male characters? And when I say mature I use the term loosely because the majority of SW females barely look out of their teens, she only looks old by comparision. Anyway Xanxus brought it up, but it will be interesting to see whether the robe she wears is her actual in game outfit or just for that cutscene. |

*nods* Kennyo's return is long overdue! NPC #1 = Masanori Fukushima NPC #2 = possibly Aya Gozen ![]() The mysterious white-hooded figure seen in two scenes: 1: The "give Kanetsugu his "愛" (love) hat" ceremony. Claps hands to summon hat-holding servant. 2: On a horse to Kenshin's left before a big cavalry rush. (hard to tell for sure, but it seems like the same person) Seraphil mentioned this in the main SW3 thread, and it should be noted here for those that haven't seen it: "Also, 2ch doods spotted something of real interest. In one of the screenshots, a list of mission objectives for a stage(likely in Camp Mode to keep track of what you've gotten) are listed. The last mission objectives involving defeating a certain "綾御前" in order to attack the Uesugi main camp. 綾御前 is Aya Gozen(also known as Sentou'in; she was a miko guard in SW2 named as Ayahime, simply Aya in the US version.)" She's on the battlefield in both cut-scene and game. That is, if it is her, which seems all too likely at this point. Who else would be so closely associated with the Uesugi clan? If it isn't Aya, then it is probably Kagekatsu Uesugi. The problem with White Hood is I can't tell if it is a man or woman! I'm so confused!

You know, it isn't "Li" right? It's "Ii" And are we sure the castle lords aren't counting in the number of UNPCs? |

The numbers don't add up. With Masanori and Aya, there's three spaces left, and the castle lords count is four. Also, Takamaru himself is not counted to the 37 character total, so I strongly believe the entirety of Mysterious Castle Murasame is being treated as it's own game that just happens to be attached to SW3 and using the same engine. |

Aya, huh? Nice one, Koei! Is there a bit of Tenchijin influence on this? I know that NA13 has a Taiga Drama influence, so SW3 might be tooo. |

From what I read and have seen so far, Aya might be the first female Koei Warriors figure I'd be willing to cosplay. Unless she's portrayed the age of the Qiaos there would be nothing standing in my way ![]() I too am hoping for a more mature approach - and one with MORE CLOTHES on. the white cloak-robe already is a good sign for that. I really do not need more bobbies or legs showing. As far as I can see it, Oichi is the one showing the littles skin. Right after Ginchiyo. If she's in I'm expecting her to be some sort of priest character, perhaps with magic. For some reason - I blame the robe - I can see her being a bit similar to Zhang Jiao (the leader of the yellow turbans... I hope I haven't mixed up names again). Not in personality, but in fighting style, so it's less 'beat em up' style by whacking them repeatly with some sort of weapon, but more 'blowing them up' with some fancy magic ![]() Alternately I can see her whielding a Naginata, but not really if Koei works the 'nun' theme in... |

As Gracia is no more in the game, I decided to revamp my previous idea (I had Tadaoki as one of them). 1. Masanori Fukushima (confirmed?) 2. Kagekatsu Uesugi 3. Yasumoto Asashina 4. Naomasa Ii 5. Masakage Yamagata/Katsuyori Takeda |

She was an Uesugi first, Nun seconds... so it is definitely possible. And I'm pretty sure it was a Buddhist Nun, not a Christian Nun, so why not? After all, Buddhists were VERY well armed back then. |

Yeah, you don't mess with a Buddhist monk. I can totally see Aya with a naginata, and Masanori with a spear. The rest I'll just have to wait and see. |

To Capitalize here on what DarkDante said, Masamune Date A: has an "officer" if you can call it that in Magoichi and B: If Masamune were to recieve an officer, he would HAVE to have a story line with substance. In Samurai Warriors 1, his story involved him interrupting several major conflicts in order to prove himself, eventually leading him to take on Kenshin or Shingen (Can't remember which) Samurai Warriors 2 puts him in maybe two battles that are actually faithful to japanese history: (I believe those are Hasedo and perhaps Odawara?) In contrast, the advantage of adding a Mogami/Asahina etc. is that it would allow Masamune to have a stage or two dedicated to his battles in the north. As for My picks for the 5: Masanori Fukushima: I get the feeling he'll inevitably wield some kind of big club. Nobuyuki Sanada: It's never too late to add some MORE drama to Yukimura's story! After all, Nobuyuki took the east side at sekigahara AND married Ina, his story line practically writes itself. Sorin Otomo: Koei is really beginning to pay attention to those island nations, and the Otomo clan was one of the BIG names. Yoshitsugu Otani: Koei has a funny thing about creating characters with pretty strong bonds. Yoshitsugu Otani, featured on the western side of the Sekigahara conflict, would certainly be a plus. Hideaki Kobayakawa: It always seemed strange to me that an officer with such a pivotal role as Hideaki Kobayakawa was not given at least an NPC role. Koei has made several characters (that were pretty much only seen once) NPC roles. Yoshimoto Imagawa is a prime example, he got stomped out by Nobunaga and only features at the battle of Okehazama (Excluding his musou mode), so Hideaki Kobayakawa is high on my list. If Nobuyuki doesn't become a main playable character, I would sincerely hope that he would be an NCP. I mean, in SW1 when you ran into Nobuyuki, he exchanged words with Yukimura. It would just be a really good move, IMO, for Nobuyuki to be a NCP in SW3, if not a playable character. It's just too easy to use. I like a lot of the ideas previously mentioned too. Particularly Kennyo and Aya.

No, Sanada Nobuyuki is the one who stayed loyal to the east. Sanada Masayuki and Sanada Yukimura both joined the west for the sake of ensuring the Sanada clan's survival. It wasn't like Nobuyuki just up and left the Sanada and joined the east, they were all Ieyasu supporters in the beginning. :\ |

Nice post(of Aya Gozen)SadXuHuang ^^ Well,my Speculations are: Fukushima Masanori(confirmed) Aya Gozen(because the SadXuHuang's Post) Hojo Ujimasa Takeda Katsuyori Asakura Yoshikage(a partner for Nagamasa) I think Musashi,Kojiro and Gracia can come back as NPCs,or as 3 of 5 UNPCs. |

Well that was just a title, it didn't necessarily mean that they were the actual weapons as far as I know. He may get a generic spear due to the fact that he's an NPC though! |

If I recall, he was actually a famous spearwielder in his time. He wielded the legendary spear Nihongo, though I don't believe he was the original wielder. Koei hasn't necessarily paid attention to mentions of historically wielded weapons, but I feel like Masanori will end up with a spear. Edited by Lord Manshoon, Sun Nov 15, 2009 2:44 am.
