Who is your favourite clan? When i say clan i mean the overall force, so people like No and Ranmaru belong to the Oda.

Mine is the Takeda. Masters of cavalry, ruled by a true great, and a motto from the great Sun Tzu!

I would have to say the Oda, they have a large number of different and interesting characers to choose from and I can honestly say I like every single member of the Oda, from Nobunaga to Ranmaru, to No, to the XL additions of Katsuie and Toshiie, I love all of them!

Tokugawa would have to be second and Uesugi a close third.

Without a doubt, the Tokugawa. Ieyasu is the most capable leader of his time, in my eyes, and the Tokugawa officers (not just playables) outperform those of the other clans. Their fortitude is unparalleled, and Ieyasu displays more growth than perhaps any other leader (yes, that includes Hideyoshi). Tadakatsu is beyond human; wading into over sixty battles and coming out nearly unscathed in every one of them! Hanzo's the embodiment of loyalty and service; his existence is completely devoted to fulfilling Ieyasu's will, and Hanzo considers his life to be of value only in service to his master. Ina, though far from one of my favorite officers, is nevertheless a brilliant warrior (who just needs some time away from daddy, is all).

And, if you'd like a top five altogether:
1. Tokugawa
2. Uesugi
3. Mori
4. Toyotomi
5. Date

top five of clans(from the game, and from what i read):
1st:uesugi:did not have much numbers, but used the numbers they had very well
2nd:sanada:loyal warriors.nobushige sanada and nobuyuki were always loyal to their alliances to toyotomi and tokugawa respectively
3rd:mori:the mori were united amongst themselves, and that union almost made them win against hideyoshi
4th:date:after being almost finished at oshu, the date stood up again and claimed oshu.also, after working for toyotomi and tokugawa, they expanded their influence with nearly no problem
5th:tokugawa:although using a dishonorable tactic, ieyasu was clever, and earned power for the tokugawa for many years

One of my favorites is the Takeda Clan, especially when Shingen led.

His very sucessive military career and he made an impact during his time.

As for a top five:

1. Oda
2. Takeda
3. Uesugi
4. Mouri (Motonari was a beast)
5. Tokugawa
This is me.

My favorite would probably be Takeda too. I really enjoy playing Kawanakajima, Mikatagahara and Nagashino on their side (Shingen's version of Nagashino is great!)

As for top-5
1. Takeda
2. Oda
3. Hojo
4. Honganji
5. Tokugawa

Tied between Mouri and Hojo, both clans had incredible levels of trust in family and cooperation(the bond between Motonari and his sons, and the trust between Ujiyasu and his adopted brother Tsunashige,) with the former as the unrivaled master of naval skill and the latter a master of defense. The only time these two were defeated in these areas was when overwhelming force(massive, impenetrable ironclads against the Mouri navy and Hideyoshi using all of Japan against the Hojo) was thrown against them.

Runner-ups include Uesugi, Oda, and Miyoshi.

I would base my favorite on how I could be of a service in that clan. I always like to be in a mid big clan, not too weak. Therefore, I think the Hojo might be the clan for me to join. Still a pretty big clan, though. But I just love to have a nice fortress under my legs.

If I were to choose gamewise, I'd definately pick Uesugi. Serving Kenshin, helping Kagekatsu and join Kanetsugu in his battles.

Both gamewise and historically, Oda. I absolutely adore the cold, dry dialogue that they give to Nobunaga, and I was undoubtedly SW1 Noh's biggest fan (but most certainly not 2's...). A wonderful variety of characters. They made it so that even the betrayals never changed or diminished my love for the characters.

I mean, you HAVE to love Mitsuhide for pulling off such a blow at Honnoji! And then you HAVE to love Hideyoshi for cutting Mitsuhide down as a follow-up at Yamazaki!

Good times all around for the Oda!

Have to go with Oda too because they remind me of Wei: full of interesting inviduals.

- Mitsuhide, loyal retainer who eventually loses the faith in Nobunaga and takes the matters in his own hands
- Hideyoshi, Nobunaga's successor. SW1 showed us a cunning and clever version of him while in SW2 we see the more serious and the conqueror version.
- Katsuie, another loyal officer who fights for the Oda even after Nobunaga's death
- Toshiie... chairman of Devil Shibata Fan Club >_>. Too early to say what kind of Oda officer he really is since in SW2XL, I got the impression that he served the Oda only because of Katsuie
- No, in SW1, had to choose whether to assasinate Nobunaga or love her.
- Ranmaru, Nobunaga's bodyguard and ready to give his life for him. In SW1, he proved his loyalty by choosing to side with Oda instead of Akechi, even though Mitsuhide was his mentor and friend.
- Oichi, a woman whose story is full of tragedy in both SW1 and SW2. Loves Nagamasa but a happy life with him is impossible. Has to make a choice whether to stay with the Azai or return to Oda.

And Nobunaga, the Demo King himself. Willing to use any means possible in order to conquer the land. Doesn't hesitate to kill anyone in his way and is ready to break the rules of traditional warfare.

Uesugi(as depicted in the game of course).

Kenshin, Kanetsugu, and Keiji are among my favorite characters to play, and I always liked how they always played an underdog role in their battles.

Also love the Shimazu, even if they only did have one playable character. They're kinda like a Western version of the Uesugi, in the game at least. Always fighting against all odds.

It would have to be the Oda simply because of Nobunaga being the most confident and determined Ruler out of all the others.

Then it would be the Takeda because they had one of the best Retainers in that army Being Yukimura.

I have always like the Uesugi the best, in the games and in history. If only Kenshin had lived 5-10 years longer or perhaps more, his army could have shaken up all of Japan. As far as the games are concerned, I love Kenshin, Kanetsugu, and Keiji. I like playing the Orochi games and putting those three together on a team, total domination on my part :D

I'd have to go with the Date clan, just because I'm Masamune biased. :P
I felt that Masamune had some serious ambition and was just on everything- ready to go into battle, ready to try and conquer...its motivating haha.
Ignoring all the imbecile insults of course... >>

My second favorite would be the Shimazu clan. The rivalry between them and the Tachibana was thrilling and the battles were exciting; especially the relationship if you would call it between Ginchiyo and Yoshihiro.

Their fortitude is unparalleled, and Ieyasu displays more growth than perhaps any other leader (yes, that includes Hideyoshi).
For these reasons, Ieyasu is my favourite character in the SW series, 2nd favourite in the Warriors franchise (after Cao Cao hehe).

But favourite clan has to be Oda. Even though the Tokugawa have Hanzo and Tadakatsu and Ina, I have found all three of them really... dull. Hanzo's loyalty is unquestionable and admirable but Honda and Ina are just like broken records.

The Oda have so many characters, I suppose the variation is natural but Nobunaga (SW1), No (SW1), Toshiie, Katsuie, Ranmaru, Hideyoshi, Oichi and Keiji (for a time in SW1, which was fun)... there's too many differences in characters to ignore them!

Oda, then Tokugawa. Maybe if Hanzo and Tadakatsu get to talk about something else other than shadows and loyalty, I may change my mind. But almost everyone got nerfed in character by SW2...

I must say... the Oda... they have the Tokugawa and Hashiba under their service. And the most feared and hated by the other clans in their time.

Definitely the Toyotomi

Hideyoshi has to be the most versatile of the Unifiers and
(let's not forget this) he actually unified Japan

He got the best out of his vassals and he is one of the most likable lords :)

Plus Toshiie, Mitsunari and the psychopathic Nene are my favourites :D

Following closely would be the Date, Oda and (hopefully) the Hojo :shifty:

As far as video game goes, Oda is my favourite clan. A great variety of characters you can play.

Second favourite, the Tokugawa. Mainly because Ina and Tadakatsu are in it.
