Yes, lightning is still good for combos. I really don't know why anyone would say otherwise ![]()
Yes, this is the case. I don't remember for sure which game it was (maybe all of them), but I definitely remember this being the case for at least one. In fact though, I'm almost positive it was Musou Orochi, because I remember seeing the transliteration of the Japanese versions of Cao Cao, Sun Ce, etc. in the credits. So yeah, it's nothing new to this game, but I don't remember for sure if they do it like this in every game or not. I'd say probably not, but don't hold me to that. i'm pretty sure that there's only goin be unique dialoge with selected characters I dont think Koei has that much time to make cutscenes w/ every character with CAW
Im pretty sure they are going have cutscenes for the CAW characters in there sengoku history mode thing (Or im atleast im 90% Sure lol)
No you don't. At least in the first Sengoku History pack, there's only one stage with a cutscene and it's 100% identical to Ujiyasu's Kawagoe cutscene. Recall that KOEI was stupid with this game and decided to throw in only FMVs, even for mid-battle cutscenes. Since none of the cutscenes are prerendered (aside from the short bit at the beginning of a stage that shows the layout), it's impossible to add CAWs into cutscenes. Yet another reason to hate the blasted FMVs.
Not to mention that Okuni's Mary Poppins maneuver is her double jump. The Hanbeicopter is his Special. It makes sense that if they're going to waste a special on something like that then it's going to be better than Okuni's. And as far as the eagle goes: If nothing else, any character can use it in the one stage it shows up in Murasame mode. So I'd say it's safe to assume that you can do it with any character at Odawara as well. Just maybe not necessarily in the free mode version, you may have to play the Hanzo or Nene specific versions. I don't really remember if you get that rescue Hideyoshi mission outside of those two stages. |

I have a question...So do characters only have 3rd and 4th weapons? Have they cut out 1st and 2nd weapons? |

The weapon rank system is now as it is in Dynasty Warriors 6.. (Power, Speed and Normal) But this time around, 4th weapons (aka. unique weapons) are in the game.

Thats a disappointment. At least they have 4th weapons. I'f i'm not mistaken, dw6 didn't even have that. It was an Epic disaster! |

Actually It's a bit realistic... I mean in scenes & such they are always holding 3rd weapons Although I still see The weapon system in SW1XL is the best |

I think it's a good idea You start off with a weak but cool weapon(e.g-Kanetsugu's 3rd) instead of a crappy looking thing (Kanetsugu's first) Then you gradually get stronger ones as the game progresses until you unlock an even cooler weapon EDIT:plus what Zero38 said, it makes a lot more sense Edited by Clash, Mon Dec 14, 2009 7:44 pm.

@Zero38. - I agree.. the old school weapon system is what i found amazing in the game, and Sw1 weapons where very unique in all factors... Tbh i dont mind that Dynasty Warriors had the weapon system changed, it would of made the games even more unique to each other.. And the rankings (eg.. 3rd weapons) are gone.. its not about how strong one is to another in a way and sticking to that weapon all the time... Now each type of weapon is used to match styles of your own gameplay tatics and such, and the use the moveset in different ways.. you can upgrade these weapsons aswell.. Except you're going to literally have the exact same weapon throughout the whole game, unless you get the uniques. And even then, many of the uniques are simply bad- random skills thrown over them and since you can't pick what attack type it is, some characters get pretty screwed over. And you don't get stronger weapons as the game progresses- it's completely random. Not to mention that skills can only be upgraded to level 3, Uniques can't be upgraded at all, and again: everything except uniques are random. In all honesty, this is the worst weapon system out of the entire SM series. If there's some aspects of the game some people are looking forward to, this should definitely not be one of them. This system and the numerous rehashed stages are perhaps the biggest disappointments in the game. |

No,it's weapon system from Dw5 In Dw6,you get bonus from each kind But in Sw3,you have to choose power(screw it) or speed or balance Agree, this is the worst weapon system ever @Loose Canon:what do the characters have in the end matter, not the beginning @Zero:Who care about the kind of sense ? @Divine Justice:May be I just start with lighting lv1 or something but don't find it's as strong as SW2 and off course never SW1.Think it's from WO |

I hate this speed power and normal weapon type system, since its just like DW5. I mean I hate it. Da Qiao's final weapon was heavy which made her SOOO slow. I was so pissed about that. Hopefully Oichi's unique weapon isn't power type or im gonna be pissed. And the fact that none of the weapons change in appearance except in color is lame and the fact that u can't customize the 4th weapon again is even lamer. Oh well.....

Da Qiao heavy weapon actually gives her a lot of power She already has lots of speed so who care ? Find that weapon very useful in Chaos mode |

She lost almost all her speed in exchange for power. She was slow so it did matter. Da Qiao is suppose to be a character of speed which encompasses her weakness not the other way around. Anyways, I wat are the stats of Hanbei's unique weapon? |

I just hoped that they would have the same weapon system from SW2XL (complete customization for weapons via orbs), it was perfect. SWXL system was good too, but it prevented you from upgrading 6th/final weapons. But I agree too that this weapon system might turn out to be the worst in SW series...

Dynasty Warriors 5 Weapon system is not like Samurai Warriors 3.. Dynasty Warriors 5 - You have the 4 types of weapons.. 1st to 4th.. each stronger then before.. the 4th weapon has default stats. the difference between dw5 and the others is the weight system which makes the weapon faster or slower.. do not get it mixed up. Dynasty Warriors 6 - You have 3 types of weapons.. (And i have said all this before -_-.. so its copy and paste..) Speed -Weapon movement speed is increased. Power - Weapon movement is decreased but the weapon is stronger. Normal - I think the reach of the weapon is increased -Edit- I never noticed that the heavy weapons were stronger so im not really sure about it.. so it does seem like its dw5 sort of.. but not exactly. Ohh, so does that mean that I can get a 3rd weapon for any character ; which would have a higher base stats then their 4th(unique) weapons? and So you can customize 3rd weapons and down? except for 4th weapons or would you just see if your lucky if you get a good weapon with good abilities to it? O.O (-_- sorry it sounds confusing) Edited by ViperQueen, Mon Dec 14, 2009 11:09 pm.

Okay lemme get this straight I said Sw3 similar to Dw5 because now you basically have the weight system Power = Heavy Normal = Normal Speed = Light Dude,I don't care about any frigging weapo 1->4 And yes, without the 4th weapon that can't be customize.I'm thinking DW6 weapon system is better. Is the unique looks of 4th weapons that important ? I like the blink anyway....
Base attack always the same for each kind of weapon, this is not Dw6 weapon system like I said May be if your unique weapon is speed or normal, you can have stronger base attack with a normal or power weapon. But who care, since the power weapon give you slow motion moves
You mean they suppose to weild a made from gold spear with thousands of carving ? And this is a game, any kind of weapon is exceptable.Who fight with a kemari, with a staff, nails or even the ring things that evoled from Kemada. They are not real battle field Edited by Nghet, Tue Dec 15, 2009 12:07 am.

I am really confused at what u are trying to say .The power ones have more power but are heavy. The normal ones have more of a reach. And the speed ones are faster.. both dw5 and 6 weapons systems to have some stuff in common now that i look at it, but there are some differences.. Sw3 matches more to dw6 then dw5. But really that is just my own opinion. And its not the look, or it wasent way back when, 4th weapons used to be the strongest... but since u can upgrade weapons now in the newer games, they have become less important and more of a collectible.. Thats what i think anyway. Edited by Joetri10, Tue Dec 15, 2009 12:15 am.

Well,in SW1,I still using 4th weapon for lots of character. And in SW1XL when the game is not that hard anymore,I can happily live with 6th weapon. But occasionally,I use my 5th weapon to beat more crap out of the screen In Sw2....It's a easy game anyway....So I don't really care..... May be you think SW3 is more DW6ish because the only 3 kind of weapons But Dw6 does give you bonus and no penalty at all.But it's just my oppinion,I'm too tired to think of anythings now.Whoop, going out lol |

I just think it's funny that people are arguing about the realism of certain weapons while, at the same time, saying that characters should find cooler-looking and more powerful weapons on the battlefield as they progress. Last I checked, a samurai generally used the same weapon their entire life, and passed the weapon down to their heirs, if they could. If the weapons broke, it could be viewed as a great dishonor, or in the best-case scenario, they would as a smith to repair it or create a duplicate of it. To me, the weapon weight system gives characters a chance to give heavier hitters faster weapons or fast characters stronger weapons. However, in the end players will play how they want, so having the full range of types for each character lets the player find what feels right for them. Maybe Power weapons never feel right to you, but maybe Speed weapons feel to weak to someone else. Really, have we, Koei fans, gotten so arrogant to believe that their way is the only way to enjoy the game? Has no one heard of the saying "To Each, Their Own"? |

Its not so much arrogance, then just the fact that what one thing we loved about the game is being changed.. to me anyway. And tbh i dont mind about the change.. and thats what matters... they cant do the same thing over and over in every game anyway :p.. accept change or dont play lol :P..
