This one is important for Sengoku Musou 3 fans....our beloved Oyakatasama has just passed away......

Spoiler: click to toggle

Legendary seiyuu Daisuke Gori has died under circumstances police consider likely to be suicide. He was 57.

According to police and witnesses, he was found dead on his back on a Nakano Ward street in Tokyo at 3PM.

He had apparently slit his wrists. A knife was found underneath the body, and police also recovered a note; they are treating the death as a suicide.

Gori, born 1952, was known for hundreds of voice acting roles in anime, movies and games, notably Gundam, Fist of the North Star, Kinniku Man and Dragonball Z. Some of his most recent roles were in One Piece, Doraemon and Slayers; he was active throughout 2009.

Now Heihachi Mishima is really dead....and Shingen too....

Rest in Peace Gori san. You will always be remembered.

Rest in peace! :(

I hope they can find a good or better replacement...

I couldn't find words to describe this...but the voice actor issue has to be solved somehow.

Very depressing hearing that Gori-san passed away, he was such a talented seiyuu. By the way, I'm going to have to spoil the link since the site you're linking contains mature content. Thank you. :3

Thats a horrible thing to say!!..

Is that all you care about.. the fact that he was a voice actor.. and to even go on to say that you hope someone better then him could come along..

I think the only thing that gives your post justice is that you said rest in peace..

Im sorry if people dont agree with me on this but this is just.. :hmmm: .

There prolly wont be anymore XL's only cuz they can do DLC like they did with strikeforce.

Just release free packs of new maps or scenarios. THAT would be cool for SW3 or DW7.........otherwise they will charge for DLC for new characters and such...more likely. A whole new disc is a waste of money for them. DLC cheaper.

Now if they would of just done it all on one disc with DW6...even with empires it could fit on a PS3 blu ray. :)

For all collectors of SW3 Merchandise or just lovers of the Art...

The last 'character book' I bought, was not what I expected. I think it might be some sort of walkthrough or something. :\ Oh well, not much money lost.

I DID find the real artbook now thought.

It comes with the official OST CD but for that price it's definitly all worth it. If there are no items left, check out the sellers other auctions. Last time I checke he had at least three auctions with at least 20 artbooks each running.

I'm now happily waiting for mine to arrive <3

My God...he died...Rest In Peace, Gori. You did a great job on voicing Takeda Shingen and Heihachi, as well as a narrator in Sengoku Musou 2..

I wonder who gonna replace him in the next Sengoku Musou's Shingen and Tekken..

I wasn't rude, I just don't know what to say...Yeah a good voice actor loss probably means very big mortal blow to some people.

But then they gonna have to cut characters if they could not find voice actors in time. In this case: expect Shingen and Heihaichi Mishima to be in danger zone.

Because throughout histories of Koei SW and DW games, Japanese voice actors for characters have to be maintained, so yeah this is gonna affect the future production.

I do think this is unexpected...so...I have to say R.I.P to him since I like Mr Satan in DBZ, hated Heihachi Mishima in Tekken series, and like Shingen Takeda.

So if the port versions of SW3 haven't been made... I suppose...Nah I shouldn't say it. I prefer to believe it is already being made.

I know I am probably gonna get shouted at for this, but if you lose something either, replace it, or forget about it. But this man is very famous in Japan, so this is GREAT MORTAL LOSS to all Japanese who knew him even though I don't know him that well.

I even put a smile when I don't even use it often.

This is worse day to start 2010, but cheer up everyone, things will get better.

Edit: Man...I have to keep editting to explain myself.

Note: Voice actors get paid so it should be Koei Tecmo and Namco Bandai who should face the loss. For us, we could only mourn for him silently in our hearts.

Omg! its not about the voice acting!.. he died! not quit... stop talking like now we are in trouble whos voicing them... how disrespectful can you get.. Think about his family.. his freinds.. His life which wasent just voice acting..

I mean its sounds like if u hated him or his voice acting work.. u would of just not cared..

the 2nd half of the post is good.. but not before you said... I know I am probably gonna get shouted at for this, but if you lose something either, replace it, or forget about it.

As i said.. He died! not quit.. <_<

ChenChong has already stated Gori-san passed away in his earlier posts and the only we can do is mourn for the loss of his life, so let's not create another pointless argument.

He was also voicing Jimbei in One Piece who has a pretty big role in upcoming episodes, so I would think whatever episodes of those are already recorded will end up being his last work. I don't know the personal situation behind his death, or even heard his voice much despite all the many many roles he has done, but still it is saddening to hear about the death of anyone and I pray for his family and friends.

Dragon Ball Kai would also be in danger, since I'm guessing he didn't record any of his roles as Mr Satan yet (Kai is only on the Frieza saga right now).

The thing is, seiyuu acting is extremely serious business in Japan. While it's true that we should think how that VA's are more then VA's, there have been instances in Japan where anime productions have been altered just because a VA died.

This support my point that future game production will also be affected. The thing is many people tend to think the characters personality MATTER more so a good voice will also give THAT impression. They love the characters more than the VA, which gave them 'life'.

Many of us, including me, tend to forget that VA are human, has his or her own life, so yeah I am sorry that I care more about the game future production than the VA. I mourn for the death of such a good VA and all the companies that hired him. I will miss his voice... He voice so many of the animes and games I love!

My apologises...sincerely.

Call me insensitive, but I do not understand all the fuss about it.
It only really concerns those that were close to him.
Fans that have liked his voice (like I did as well) will 'simply' have to deal with their characters getting a new voice.

You might consider me disrespectful as he made a very good Shingen and dozens of other characters, but I refuse to mourn a person that I hardly knew, especially when there are 1000 of other people dying each day who noone knows about.

Anyway, I've noticed a raise in new fanarts again. There are quite... interesting couples showing up. Some of which I hadn't even considered (or would have ever considered without seeing those pics).

One of them is Kanetsugu x Masamune, the other Yukimura x Masamune, thought I do think the later is because of SB.
Mitsuhide - Motochika was to be expected, just like I SO saw Muneshinge-Motonari coming.

Didn't see Kai-Kuno or Uji-Kotaru, thought I guess I should have.
Interesting to see are all the family pictures of the Toyotomi, but now also of Kenshin, Aya and Kanetsugu.

I'm surprised to haven't found a pic of Nene mothering Hanbei, but I did find a cute one of Nene glomping young Kiyomasa, Mitsunari and Masanori ^^

What I DEFINITLY didn't see coming until it was before me was Motonari-Hanbei (Kanbei-Hanbei is pretty cannon apparently). I dunno why, but somehow I didn't even could picture Motonari in a relationship with any of the characters.
Well... I originally had the same feeling about Hanbei...

What pairings did you stumble upon that surprised or inspired you?

One of them is Kanetsugu x Masamune,
Not unexpected. Masamune and Kanetsugu's relationship is a important part of their stories.

Likely based on SW2 Masamune's story, their interactions in SW2E, and Masamune coming to help Yukimura at Ueda in SW3 and then later their face-off at Osaka.

I've seen those, though usually Kai is with Ujiyasu and Kotaro.

I don't see why, considering they have zero relation with each other.

Hanbei's story and Motonari's story both make them out to be pretty solid rivals.

Good to know :) I've only seen the CGs and otherwise only know what I've found here about the stories, so I'm curious to see those two interacting.
(Please tell me it's not just all about justice...)

O.o Okay. It seems I must re-play SW2 I missed all hints in that regard...

Yes, Kai with Ujiyasu or Kataro or or/and both of them I've seen coming too, but I didn't expect the fans to put the girls together in a pairing or only the males because Ujiyasu isn't exactly a bishonen and the older guys are ususally pretty much negleced.
Kind of glad to see Ujiyasu breaking that pattern :)

Yes, but I kind of expected fans to jump at the chance of giving Hanbei a glomp in form of 'mommy Nene' :D
Or maybe it's just my fangirl thing.

Rivals, huh? Now I'm even more interested in playing the game and understanding what's really going on :D

Yes. I saw the vid with those two and Ginchiyo and mentally thought "If those two aren't going to end up as a couple made by fans, than I'm starting to question my knowledge about fan(girls) behavior.

There are just some characters I can't picture in a relationship, even when I know them well. In this case I couldn't picture them or just didn't contemplate them until I saw them and then I could see it.
Thought it did take me quite some time to get used to the idea of Kanbei with Hanbei as more than friends (because Hanbei more or less has the shota-factor).

Oh well ^^ That's fans for you :)

Nothing seems to have surprised you thought. Or is the a pairing you wouldn't have seen coming a mile away? :D
