There's a glitch in the game as l heard from other people who played the game themselves that you can play as Masanori and Aya as themselves. l'm not talkng about Nene cloning but the real thing. l heard that when you play as them their movesets are generic so there's nothing to their movesets.
Really now? I'd like to see/hear it for myself. The last time I've seen a CAW Masanori and Aya Gozen gameplay video, they each had one of the CAW voices even with their respective generic movesets.

My databook (NOT ARTBOOK) arrived today. I'm really, really, really, REALLY impressed with the high amount of detail it's equipped. Each character has 4 pages dedicated to him/her and often you even have layer by layer (not all).
It's almost like a guide for cosplayers ;)

Althought there are some things I didn't wanted to know T^T
For example: Kai-hime's breasts... are BOUND! She's got bandages wrapped over her upper body *drops*
And Han-chan... Has a full armor behind that cushion-like thingy... Now that I know... My mind will not let me off with skipping it out when I cosplay him. And here I was already disliking the leg-guard armor ^^°°°°°°

I'll try to take snapshots of it this weekend (all of them), but I'm not going to promise I'll finish.

On a side note: Did anyone else get his/her hands on the databook yet? I kinda feel like... the colors got VERY DARK in my print.
Also I'm starting to wonder if I got the 'real thing'. It's not that it's in bad qual or anything. It's more... I'm kinda missing the Koei logo. There isn't even the usual page with states which print it is and that it's all copyright of Koei and stuff...

Haven't tested the soundtrack that came with it.

^ I bought it here, if that's what you mean:

I'll photograph the pages as good as I can. I unfortunately have no scanner and I just noticed how urgently I actually need one >< Maybe next month.
Most likely I'll make a separate account on photobucket or something like that, then set the link here. Or send them tot he staff again.

Yeah I agree too. When I watched some SW3 gameplay videos I couldn't just ignore the annoying framerate problem. But actually there are some animations that do still go at 60fps (but not that many).

It's rather weird because all other Warriors games has had 60fps but this one only 30fps. I've got no idea why they did it for this one... Hopefully it will be fixed to the 60fps in possible PS3/360 port.

It's rather interesting also that the mouths don't move this time during the victory speech thing. But whatever, not as big deal as the fps problem.

And I'm not complaining, but only wondering why they did those things...

^ What do you mean?
If you are interested in how to obtain them, there is a separate thread for that. If you are interested to see what they look like, I'll put them up along with the rest of the scans as soon as I'm able too.

I think in the last video showing those block-attacks all characters are equiped with the 4th one :)

I have access to a scanner, so I can put up scans if no one else does by that point. I've been looking out for the databook, so with the link that wildcard shared, I bought it.

I wouldn't be surprised if her breasts are bound to behave like a medieval Japanese sports bra. I doubt she wants them loose while running around a battlefield.

And by the way, regarding fps. Perhaps it is lower this time around, but I have yet to see a video where the game lags with too much on the screen. So at least it is stable, which is the first time in Musou history, I reckon.

I guess you could look at it that way.. But in my own opinion, seeing as this is the first time the fps has been lowered.. i would call the 30 fps as being lag.. :/

Well, if they did it to lower the "messed up" framerate for Multi-player with generals and peons disappearing and stuff ~ I guess I can understand even though I had no major problems. I just hope it doesn't make stages fill so long. Even though I don't know exactly what framerate is.. what is it?

Well, framerate in video games refer to speed at which image is refreshed (frames per second = fps). The higher the fps is, the more "smoother" animations are. In Warriors games it has always been 60fps (correct me if I'm wrong), but in SW3 it is dropped down to 30, meaning that the animations looks somewhat choppy and not so good.

And even though there is no lag and less "disappearing stuff", the fps problem (which you now probably understand) is much more a nuisance. IMO in SW2 there was barely any lag (I experiened it only a few times).

If they port for 360/PS3 the fps must be improved at least back to 60 because otherwise it would look ridiculous.

I figured I'd come in here and give some info on the game, new or old, that appealed to me or just to clear some things up. Since you know, some people aren't going to wade through the many posts this topic has become. Also cause I've come to really like this game and wanted to post this stuff somewhere so, why not?

Long read ahead:

Peons can now become terrified of you. Take out the sergeants or do major damage to the general nearby and often the privates will slowly fall onto their asses in fear before getting up and running away. Not all of course, but it's a nice touch that makes you feel like Zhang Liao at Hefei sometimes. Taking out a good handful of peons quickly gives you the same effect.

As peons flee they're not all 1 hit KO's anymore. If you attack them all sometimes some will not die and they'll all stop and start fighting you again.

Oh yeah, there's elder peons now. Grandpa archers are win.

Speaking of them, on harder difficulties the archers and musket troops seem to have Dynasty 3-like range again. They don't do the damage Dynasty 3's archers did (Sadly) but they do like to strike you from far, far away in this game.

The AI is noticeably improved, even if it isn't as fierce as it is in say Dynasty 3, Gundam Musou 2 or Samurai 1. They like to block, they like to abuse dodges and sidesteps, they like to finish their attack chains again... and enemy commanders are not against using Eigi (The new dash attack) or Kaidens against you. Hell, they often spam their nearly infinite Eigi against you. It's a pretty good AI.

Speaking of, that's a new thing, sidesteps. Hold block, press jump + a direction and you sidestep in that direction, avoiding any strikes during it. It's like a secondary roll except you come out of it blocking. You can skillfully evade many officers' strikes with proper timing of this + rolls.

Block any attacks coming your way with exact timing and enemies will stagger, giving you an opening to get started.

On harder difficulties every attack will faze you, meaning peons can be much harder to fight off. Charge 1 for everyone has some heavy armor on it though so you can use that to create openings. You can take a few hits before you get hit out of one.

The special stance from R specials is gone, so you have to press R to use a special every time you want to use one instead of walking around in the stance using one whenever you like. In addition, everytime you use a special the character must first enter the animation of the stance before they actually do the special. It's pretty quick though so no worries.

Only special types get to use 2 specials now, everyone else uses 1. Special types also retain the 3 presses for their specials, even though the game only says you get 2. Some specials are pretty good this time around as well. Nobunaga for example has been well buffed: His fully charged shield (Which is fast as all hell) makes him unable to be damaged heavily or stunned by any attacks until time runs out or it gets attacked enough times. His sword special also gives access to his full moveset for what must be 30 seconds. You can routinely use the shield to cover for you while you charge your sword up.

Yukimura and Kiyomasa can cancel their charge attacks that hit someone into their R specials. This makes Kiyomasa in particular really shine with his "pull them all in" special.

Weapons aren't as harsh in difference as they were in Dynasty 5. Speed weapons don't take that much attack away from you and they aren't that much faster either. Power weapons don't power you up too much and they don't slow you down all that much either. It's all character specific it seems. Some aren't really affected by what weapon they have equipped, gaining or losing only a half second for every strike or charge attack.

Fire drains enemy health as they're juggled. Combine with Eigi juggling for massive damage.
Ice freezes an enemy general obviously, for heavier damage.
Lightning puts enemies into a special fall stance, as well as making your combo score climb faster.
Wind damages a blocking officer (Noticeably this time. It's nothing major, but you will notice the damage being done)
Demon adds a little attack power and has a good chance of insta-killing peons. It'll also do good damage to officers and is able to kill them reliably. It feels like a well balanced version of Dynasty 4's Vorpal and Samurai 2 XL's Demon element.

Eigi also makes the game as easy or as hard as you and the character allow. Yukimura with his range and quick strikes or Nobunaga with his pure speed were already rape without it, and with Eigi they become gods. In comparison, Magoichi and newcomer Ujiyasu who have more limited movesets use Eigi to actually give them options like breaking guards without turning them into broken monsters. Ginchiyo isn't a long range character, but have her isolate an officer and Eigi turns her into rape against him. It's also character specific.

Yeah, lots of stages share maps. Kyushu and Hasedo share the same stage for example, so Kyushu doesn't have volcanoes or anything like that. In general they make each one have a different environment or take place at a different time so they do feel different enough... usually. The missions also have you running around in different locations on the map so at least they have variety.

Free mode assumes a certain character is being played. Okehazama will be different if you bring Hideyoshi or Nagamasa to it, while others are all treated to Nobunaga's version of the stage. Stages are also at their difficulties as well. Everyone is treated to Hideyoshi's 8 star Komaki, unless you bring Kiyomasa to it in which case it gets much easier.

Having 3 seperate musou's instead of one long, continuous one formed of 3 segments works out well in this game. You'll always have musou on hand to break free of rapidly stunning peons or to simply rack up combos.

And yeah, the stories are much better overall in this game. You still have your lackluster ones here and there but generally everyone's is entertaining. I've genuinely laughed at some of the scenes as opposed to just chuckling along.

Oh yeah, one last thing... Tadakatsu is stupidly good as an enemy. If he has an aura (He usually does) he's unfazeable by regular strikes, he loves to block and dodge everything you do, and he often counters with his high damaging strikes and heavy armor C1. Lu Bu is nothing to this guy. Oh, and Nobunaga likes to get his own Tadakatsu aura here and there (Nagamasa and Shingen's final stages...)

Overall, fun and challenging game that makes things feel a little fresh just by adding Eigi and Kaiden in. I definitely recommend trying it out.

One small detail I forgot: When you or your enemies get reinforcements, they usually pour out of the gates this time around. You still get your random warp ins but for the most part, the gates are the way they actually come in now.
