Ah, yes, what I meant was: How much gold do you averagely collect when playing through one story? And I don't remember if this question has been answered already, but... does every character 'cost' the same? Or are there varities? |

Unlocking other characters you mean? Characters with Musou Modes cost 100 koku, however the seven free-mode only characters cost 80 koku. |

Yes, exactly ^^ Thanks Kaon. Now all that remains is the question if playing one character through will enable one to collect enough koku to buy a character right after finishing up one story... How does koku-collecting work in this part anyway? Do you have to finish in-stage missions and kick officers for money again? Or do you perhaps get money depending on how well you did in a stage? Or perhaps eben both? ![]() Maybe we could add this info to the info thread for SW3? :3 |

No one has yet to answer the question as to how much koku you generally earn in one story mode. I'd like to know this as well. |

Free mode stages on normal give you 5 koku, with some having side-missions that net you 10-15 more. A story mode always gives out 100 koku guaranteed at the end of it, which is enough for another character. You also get additional koku for the stages you play leading up to the ending, and if you run through it in at least hard mode (Like a real man/woman) you get around 14 koku per stage. I easily had story runthroughs that let me get 2 characters right away. |

I'm very disappointed that SW3 is only on the Wii ![]() I have been a fan of DW since 3 on PS2, I do not have a PS3 or Wii so seeing the games move on to Xbox was great & I own SW2, DW6, GW1 & GW2, DWO2, & DWSF. Not seeing SW3 on the Xbox especially after releasing that it will be online & offline co-op really really sucks. I have been waiting to be able to play that game online with someone for the longest time, and finally when they have released it its not for the console I want, & I'm not about to buy a Wii just for 1 game. It sucks being a fan for some time & just wanting to play the story & free modes online and still getting a middle finger from my fav company. thanks...not

Find other games you might like then. An open mind yields plenty to play, even if you have to wade through shovelware to find the gems on Wii. I've got 10+ games that have all made my Wii a great purchase. No johns. You really don't need to remember how much anything costs, or that anything even costs anything really. If you do as I said with the stories and run through at least hard and ignore normal except for leveling up (Like champions) you'll quickly be swimming in koku. 9 stories in, I had everyone unlocked. There were 21 stories left for me at that point, and everything else costs less than the characters do. |

Ladies, Gentlemen, Other... I would like to bring your attention to one little teeny-weeny line:
This means that Nintendo is publishing the game, not Koei. This means that all marketing decisions are being done by them. Release dates are theirs, not Koei's. This also pretty much solidifies the no port front. In addition, odds are with the loss of the voice actor for Takeda, an XL is less likely since they would have to rerecord all of Takeda's lines to prevent voice mismatching in any new scenarios that contain him (like if Aya becomes playable). They may still make Empires since the game can stand alone and just use one Voice Actor. Finally, regarding the 60fps -> 30fps. No, PS2 could NOT handle 60 with no problems, the game lagged horribly whenever too many characters entered the screen. However at 30, no one has yet to report any such lag. The game, as a whole, runs much smoother. And if this is why, then I would have preferred 30 from the beginning. That is all... Play nice! |

What he said. I mean, good Lord, DW and all its sister series can't be the ONLY games some people here like playing. If that were the case then why do we even have a separate Other games section? I mean surely you don't like any of Nintendo's first party stuff? Those alone are enough to warrant a Wii purchase. How much do CAW parts generally cost? Is it anything like Soul Calibur III's and IV's CAW purchase system where you practically need to finish the whole game to unlock them? |

Caw parts are free and usable right away as soon as you turn the game on. To use a character's moveset for them though you have to buy them for 50 koku each or they're stuck with the 3 generic movesets we know so well. |

Yeah, I'm with necrosis on this one. Not saying that a port is inevitable, but it's not completely out of the question. To put down a notion of a port is just as silly as saying there will definitely be one. At this point, gamers can do one of two things: find enough games to warrant the purchase of a Wii, or simply put on their patient caps and wait for the possibility of a port. Being the mindless sheep that I am, I'll end up getting both the original and possible port, if there's enough incentive. I'm not patient enough to play the sit and wait game, not when I know I'm going to get it in some form or another. |

My source? There are two sources, actually. 1) Jsun's post back on page 167 quoting the Nintendo of America press release. 2) http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/news/2010/samurai_warriors_3_set_to_go_into_battle_exclusively_on_wii_16444.html which was posted a couple pages later And as for the bits on Takeda's voice actor, well that was old news combined with common sense that mixing voice actors for the same game generally doesn't work well, thus causing problems if SW3XL exists. And for the FPS, the source on the lag is playing the games and watching others play the game. Happy? |

Pretty much correct about the game being Nintendo exclusive for now, but the deal they made is probably just for one year of exclusive console rights. People who are waiting for the port to be announced will be waiting a long time. A port for Xbox360/PS3 probably won't even happen till next February. By the time you get ported game, there will be even more titles released by KOEI to grab a hold of your interest. |

Yeah, pretty much. I know how I am- I'm not nearly patient enough to wait for a port, not when I've been waiting this long for the game itself. So, chances are I'll just get both, should it ever happen. I'm certain there will be enough additional content to make it worth it. As for Shingen's VA, I do understand where that could be a problem, but not enough to prevent any further installations of the game. I understand the Japanese respect and take their VAs very, very seriously, and they don't simply 'replace' them (as is common practice in Western VAs). But I doubt he's a solid enough reason not to make a port, Special or XL. Not when there are more logical ones. I loved the guy, but the game must go on, I'm afraid, at one point or another. They didn't cancel MGS4 when Ocelot's VA died... of course, they also had the whole issue with him being 'possessed' by Liquid and therefor having a backup voice, but I'm sure the fans in Japan won't burn them at the stake if they have to replace Shingen. |

I think you may misunderstand. I'm not saying there won't be future installations at all. What I'm saying is that as Dynasty/Samurai Warriors XL is a cheap-to-make expansion of the original title. It has standalone features but is meant to be used in conjunction with the original disc by loading the data from the previous disc. However, in this case, there would be an uncomfortable desync of lines of the old actor and lines of the new actor when a new Actor is appointed. This means that: a) They will need to re-record all the old lines and figure out how to overwrite them or b) Skip XL, make Empires (which is purely standalone and thus doesn't have this problem) and make XL for SW4 or c) Allow this desync which will just not feel right unless the new actor can perfectly mimic the previous actor's voice and delivery. As such, due to Koei's make as many games for as cheap as possible policy, option B is the most likely, in my opinion. |

In SW2, I barely experiened any lag at all, only a few times during my countless hours of playing it. So I much prefer 60fps than 30fps even if it means having a little brief lag which would occur very rarely. Because at least for me, having 30fps looks like the game lagging all the time. And anyone still got any info regarding Kenshin's third stage, battle of Suruga (apart from the Uesugi being the other army)? |

Damn!!!!! Did Omega Force go broke or something? I mean Omega Force Publishes Koei games correct? Well it looks like SB3 will be my next hack and slash choice but I'm happy for you wii owners. If SW3 does not sell well in the EU and US like in japan, then a port is out of the question

I still don't see how that's enough of an issue to prevent them from making a port in general. You're making it sound as if the expansion can't exist without Shingen's VA... It's not like he got fired and they're replacing him. He's dead... I think the gamers are going to find it acceptable -if- they bring in another guy that sounds similar to the old Shingen... seeing as Koei can't really bring people back from the dead. However, despite my arguments, I'm not holding my breath for an XL. To be honest, I'd rather just pay for DLC, but it's assuming Koei has plans for character stories as DLC at all. I guess there's a first for everything; who'd have predicted SW3 going on the Wii, right? |
