Sigh... this fall... I have to wait until this fall to get the game. I was really hoping to get the game this spring, but I'm going to have to wait even longer to get it... Oh well, I'm sure I'll have plenty of other games to play while I wait. Until then, I hope everyone living in Europe will enjoy it. :D

Been a while since I visited this board but I've been following the news. Well, I made up my mind and bought a PS3. So if that means SW3 will remain out of my reach forever, so be it. SW1 and SW2 rock as well >_>.

Hopefully all Warriors fans with Wii go and buy SW3. I personally trust to comments I've heard from other players like Seraphil and Tetsuo: Excellent game with great stories, characters and gameplay. Basically, it's a typical Warriors game and a must-have for all die hard fans :) .

Good to see you again.

I've kinda beginning to agree that Samurai Warriors 3 isn't that bad game at all. Yes it has some flaws, but it still retains those typical-Warriors game elements and such.

Btw, anyone heard any info regarding Kenshin's third stage Suruga?

I commented about the US release date on the main site, but I'm really excited to hear that it's finally been announced for the US! :) I can't wait! I hope the voice actors did a decent job, I'm anxious to hear them, but kinda optimistic as well. I don't have my own Wii, but I will be sharing my friend's Wii as we ALWAYS play Warriors games together! xD I'm still excited for this game though. Hopefully it will be worth the wait!

Yeh but you have to remember, some of these characters are losely based off people..

Magoichi is 3 people.
Kunoichi represents the Sanada ninja's.. (or atleast i think so ayway, i dunno).

That is only 2 people i can remember off the top of my head, but im sure there are others..

I remember seeing somewhere that the depiction of Yoshimoto is that of ujizane.. After yoshimoto's death, he became the lord of suruga and fought against the takeda and lost.. im not sure where the uesugi come into this, but to be fair, koei has thrown in a few random things in to the game that don’t quite make sense or did not even happen...

I’m pretty sure its ujizane fighting the takeda....
But I’m only going by the facts I’ve got and the stuff I’ve heard over the months..

Also the Hojo gave assistance to the imagawa but still lost.. (Ujizane was married to a daughter of Ujiyasu)

I just told you it, its not Yoshimoto, its a cheap way out for a battle.. (its Magoichi in Masamune's last few stages all over again)..

Nobunaga did kill yoshimoto, but that dident mean he killed ujizane...

Il tell you what.. This is where im getting my info.. It seems to give the backstory about this stage.... Sort of..

However i still see no point for the uesugi to be involved..

It's just a game, so it's okay. See that this time Masamune joins the defense of Shinano while actually it was rather far from Oshu.

suprise appearances are a staple of the Warriors series for how long. Cao Cao and Liu Bei at Wu Zhang plains? Sun Jian in pretty much any stage?Samurai is just upping the amount of that.
So this is probably just them saying Yoshimoto escaped the bloodbath at Okehazama and now the Takeda and Tokugawa are chasing down the remnants of them like a savage pack of wolves on a wounded animal... Muahahaha (Sima Yi appears)

...and then he probably requests Kenshin's aid since he has a grudge against Shingen (sort of).

And then Sima Yi appears to help Takeda, since Shingen prayed for someone to stop Kenshins stalking. At witch point Zhuge Liang appears, at witch point......
Of course I am just kidding they wouldn't combine the series, just for more money. Would they? LOL
And Joe one of the other multi-personalities is Kotaro Fuma
Since it will have been around 9 months since the Japanese release when the US gets it, will they give us stories for the others?

For the Battle of Suruga, this is how it's worked out. It only appears in Kenshin's, and I believe Shingen's, story modes. After Yoshimoto's devastating defeat by Nobunaga, in this particular timeline he survives and retreats back to Suruga. However, just like in history Shingen has his eyes on the Imagawa lands and betrays his former allies, teaming up with Ieyasu to divide up the Imagawa lands. In this, Yoshimoto sends out a call for assistance from anyone who would help, and Kenshin answers the call.

He then marches ALONE(but I think Aya goes with him, I don't remember exactly,) through Takeda territory, south to Suruga to assist Yoshimoto against the invaders. And proceeds to kick both Takeda and Tokugawa ass.

I think after he goes back to Echigo though, the Takeda/Tokugawa strike again and end Yoshimoto for good.

Battle of Suruga and Battle of Sunsou, while they use the same map, are different battles at different times. Sunsou is a very early battle where the Hojo attacked the Imagawa, who received help from their allies the Takeda. Sometime afterward is when Yoshimoto made the Kanto Triforce Alliance with Ujiyasu and Shingen.

well i was half right... I think   ...

I think it would of been better if they made ujizane a unpc, that way the historic way would of worked a little better... not to mention give the imagawa someone else..

Not to mention this storyline lifeline alternation makes Nobunaga looks like a fail.. after all.. Okehazama was the first major battle of the oda to get his name across.. (or i think its something like that anyway) :XD
Ah well.. Koei is crazy :ph43r:

Actually, Ujizane messed up bad. I rather not have him in SW.

And no, it doesn't make Nobunaga look fail.

Yeah, because IMO Yoshimoto is (in games) pretty much what Ujizane was. So it's kinda hard to make his son(?) even dumber than he is (again in games).

And again I agree, it doesn't make Nobunaga look fail since the Oda were heavily outnumbered in the battle (it was just incredible how they defeated the Imagawa).

Not much. Been playing with PS3 almost non-stop >_>. It's starting to kill my eyes...

Well, at least KOEI finally had the courtesy to give Yoshimoto more significant role. If he gets Story mode back in future installements, I hope they make him a little more arrogant. He would still want to go to capital and play kemari but this time with his own army and maybe have some help from Ujiyasu.

This one time I might be willing to believe that to be the reason, no matter how much I doubt the disc is really packed as full as everyone makes it sound like. Because up until now technical limitations are one of the last reasons Koei doesn't do things it "should" be doing.
If I remember correctly, SW2 XL was a double layer disc as opposed to SW2, and double layer discs are known to cause problems with the older PS2 models.

While it is disappointing that 7 characters lack a story mode, this isn't exactly something new to the series-- two of those characters didn't have a story in the previous game, either. With the game's stated focus those were probably the only characters they could get away with that for (well, you probably could easily cut Nene for someone else).

Having said that, of the seven I really wish Katsuie had a story mode. Realistically, the only thing he'd be serving is as a third wheel to some other characters' stories in that situation (as much as I didn't like his story in SW2 very much, it's still better than being the Oda lap dog or pining over Oichi every other level).
