Thanks for all the hard for, Joe .I can see why people hate Hanbei's English voice. He's, what, less than 15 years old and he sounds like a guy in his 20s. Kaihime, however, I think sounds more enjoyable than her Japanese counterpart. I've just never been a fan of female character who sound like Himikos in JP WO >_>. It does seem that they recycled many of the WO voices, by the way. Tadakatsu, Kanetsugu, Shingen, Sakon, Masamune, Ginchiyo and some other sounded just like in WO. Sadly, none of those voices were my favorites and I'm especially going to miss SW2's Sakon and Ginchiyo. Yoshihiro is so far the only exception. Although I only heard one line from him, I thought it had more emotion and power than his weird (but overall ok) SW2 and old yet calm WO voices. Hideyoshi's bad but anything's better than WO. Hanzo's my least favorite so far. Doesn't sound ninja-ish at all .
Good to know. Guess this time I can't blame the lazy localization team for not including it... Instead I can blame KOEI JP and Omega Force .

Yeah I miss Ginchiyo's SW2 voice, I loved the little tinge of British in her accent, it really made her stand out as a character for me. Is it me, or did Kaihime and Ginchiyo swap voice actors? I can kind of hear a non-british Ginchiyo in her voice, it's actually kind of weird. Thoughts? I agree with everyone on Hanbei's voice, it just doesn't seem to quite fit. Maybe it'll grow on me.. It's the WO voice actors all right. Even the same narrator. I've only really noticed Hideyoshi, Hanzo and Kenshin being completely different. Hanzo and Kenshin are a definite improvement... can't say about Hideyoshi, though. The sample provided for Oichi wasn't enough for me to tell either way. In that video, I only just realized Shingen's VA is the same as Yamamoto's VA in the Bleach dub. Muneshige sounds like one of the generic officers in WO, though. |

Maybe its just me, but for some reason I hear Tara Platt in Kai's voice too. Hmm... Also, I agree Kenshin and Hanzo's voices are better than in WO but uh... While he has a different voice, Hideyoshi's voice is just... BLEGH. At any rate, the voices are decent enough... Again, except Hideyoshi's. I mean damn, he... That... The appearance and voice don't match for one... I mean its better than in WO but STILL. Also, Aya's voice is . She'll definitely be on my CAW roster. Or uh... Do you unlock her and she just has a CAW moveset? Bleh, either way~! Can't wait for the Fall! ![]() Also, any info on Ranmaru's voice? Probably not but no harm in asking! |

Yay, a step forward from the Nintendo . Official site is finally up and running:http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/games/wii/samurai_warriors_3_16638.html And yes, now it has some real information about the game. |

yeah isn't tara platt oichi? They had an article on koei warriors with an interview from her I thought, and she's going to be at the London Koei expo (I think that's right), so I imagine she must voice someone in SW3. EDIT: Some members on here were saying one of the characters sounded like Yuri Lowenthal, and he's one of the guests as well at the koei expo so I assume he's a voice actor in the game too. Kyle Herbet (Sima yi) was also on there too, maybe he plays someone in the game? Edited by LiaoHua, Fri May 28, 2010 11:05 pm.

Oh no, Motonari's weapon is known as "Silken Strings" >_>. What was wrong with Shamisen...? Oh wait, why am I even surprised. They've been doing this kind of stuff since SWXL. //Bah, Yukimura's weapons have silly names as well. Mythril Spear? Aeon Spear? Yeah, I'm on rant mode right now .

Yeah I get a kick out of some of the weapon names. Silken Strings, Skylark Talons, Swan Claw, Windmaker, Moon Slasher lol. The Bone crusher lol how cheesy. I also found it interesting that it said Masamune was under the tutelage of Magoichi, that's extremely inaccurate history wise and just kind of weird. Don't get me wrong I like the Mago/Masamune alliance/friendship or whatever you want to call it but it just seems kind of weird. Edited by LiaoHua, Fri May 28, 2010 11:22 pm.

Koei loves there Mago.. ;P)(I guess the website has done some of my work for me )

I watched Launch Trailer on official site and you could hear Kanbei's voice in it. Certainly not what I expected. His character bio describes him as cold, heartless and ruthless but his English voice didn't anything like that. However, it would be easier to give final judgement after playing his story and seeing what kind of character he truly is. |

@ joetri10: Is Masamune a full on good guy this time around? I saw he was helping Kanetsugu (who he had a rivalry with in the last game), Yukimura (same) and Keiji (same) which kind of surprised me. Is he Western Army all the way in SW3 or does he eventually turn on them and join Tokugawa? I'd love for Mago and Masamune to be 100% western army guys, but let's face it, Masamune not being on Tokugawa's side is extremely historically inaccurate. |

Kanetsugu and Masamune are still rivals in this game. They're still Western and Eastern, respectively. Magoichi stays with Masamune (which means, yes, between the two games Magoichi 'switched sides'). That's all I'll say about it. And going by the Launch trailer, Mitsuhide's voice changed, too, although I'm unimpressed with his battlecry. As for Hanbei... I don't know, his voice sounds fine to me. I guess it's mainly due to the fact I accept him looking like a punk kid rather than he actually is a punk kid. Edited by Amakusa, Sat May 29, 2010 12:26 am.

Yeah, I just watched it too. It's far too... feeble, for someone who's supposed to be this dark, manipulating puppetmaster. I'm hoping it was just the lines that skewed the delivery; hopefully a gameplay vid will show off better lines. As for other voices in there: ~ Mitsuhide's Honnoji line was pretty awful. I almost cringed when I heard it. Just like Kiyomasa and Muneshige, he just sounds awfully young to me, but it's worse than either of those two. ~ Hanbei's dialogue makes me think it's not Yuri Lowenthal doing his voice. It's also strange, but whereas I find the above three to sound younger than they should, Hanbei is the opposite problem - he sounds too mature for his appearance. ~ Oichi and Kai both sound better than I thought. In fact, I think Oichi's voice is very nice based on the lines I've heard. ~ Motonari's is... well, strange. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about his delivery that just seems off to me. I'll need to hear more to figure out what's needling me. All these are subject to change as I hear more, of course. |

Just listened to some off the voices they're very off looks like Nintendo or rather KOEI couldn't get the Best VA's for this although Strikeforce's port did seem to have a rather dull set of VA's as well namely the Generics i certainly hope Fist Of The North Star doesn't suffer like these ![]() I'll be searching for reviews to see what people think of it. |

Here's the reviews i found prepare to be suprised. GameFAQs: 8/10 http://www.gamefaqs.com/wii/954366-samurai-warriors-3/reviews Gametrailers: 8.5/10 http://www.gametrailers.com/game/samurai-warriors-3/11854 Official Nintendo Magazine: 61% http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/article.php?id=17408 N4G: 3/5 http://n4g.com/news/531949/guardian-samurai-warriors-3-review It's actually generated fairly good reviews shockingly maybe KOEI will pay attention to this as it could lead to some of us missing out being able to get in on a piece of the action *Hint Hint*

I have to say, I'm glad to see SW3 score an 8.5/10 on the Gametrailers review, and the Gamefaqs review's 8 was a nice read too. But, that Nintendo review. Wow. Talk about taking a chop at a game under your own wing. Don't get me wrong; it's a fair enough review for the most part, but I almost snorted when I read the "sore thumbs" complaint again. Still, nice to see SW3 is garnering favorable opinions.

Okay, so my friend and I played togehter yesterday evening and finished Motochika's story. Aside from the always existing gag about him lacking nipples (IN BOTH Sengoku games) I really can't say we got anything to complain about. We tried the english VAs for short time, but then gave up on. I haven't heard all characters yet and can't say I care to try out. Even in dual player mode we didn't encounter any lag. Perhaps that too has been fixed in the EU version? I wouldn't know, but I surely can't complain about the performance so far. It IS true thought, that they like to sent you back and forth across the map. I've ony fought one battle so far where they didn't sent me over the map like in the shape of a Z or something similar. The green arrow pointing you in the direction of your next target is very helpful at times. I would have taken a lot longer to find out just where there is a path to walk without that - even with the help of the detail map. And... I like and hate Nintendo at the same time. I switched my console to english to check out Hanbei's 3rd stage again. Why? Because here he has a short dialoge with Kunoichi that pretty much makes her say something like "Are you lost little boy? I'd help you out, but as you can see I'm a little busy" and he'd answer something like "Little boy? Heh... You know, I'm actually senior to Kanbei-dono." Not the exact same words, but the content is in that direction. They changed Hanbei's line to something like "You should be careful what you say, you might regret it later" -.- That was one of the favourite scenes I've heard about and looked forward too and they... I also noticed - even with my little knowledge of japanese - that at times they translated something else than what they were saying. It's not a big deal, I suppose, but... a bit annoying. I started on Kanbei just a bit ago and am currently resting my thumb (aside from my SW3 session my friend made me play Megaman X 4 through in one go as well), but... I really, really, really, really like how they portrayed all characters so far. Motochika, whom i never really fond of (and who's out-of-place clothes, which I still dislike to be in the game, even thought they look good) has really grown onto me in this game XD No, Nobunaga and Ranmaru were really nice to listen too as well. I like No's voice a lot and Nobunaga has that sexy evil laugh. Not like Sima Yi, but... *purrs* Oh! And I absolutly HATE Motonari as an enemy. The other master strategist is using that... guard braking move? I have no idea what it's called but you are using up your Eigi points if you do it - either way, he's using it damn often (and I wonder how he gets so much of it) and really can be a pain in the... Gameplay wise... I dimly remember someone saying Hanbei can't attack the soldiers directly in front of him or something similar like it. Personally I have had no such experience. I've had to come to terms with HOW to use him and which combinations make him swing the weapon around and which just make him bash it over peoples head, but otherwise I can kick penions before me just the way I can kick them a bit further away. His eigi musou is the killer thought. I really like how it can clear the space around you ^o^ And Kanbei *_* His MIGHTY FIST OF GOD! is the killer. I think I might be enjoying facepalming others with it a bit too much. Especially Muneshige :3 I enjoy summoning that fist more than playing with his blue balls XD And even thought I've seen his eigi musou on video before, seriously guys, the awesomeness of seeing this on a big screen directly from the console is even more awesome! The fist coming out then is about the diameter of one of the games horses. More to Hanbei: Damn, if he isn't quite strikeforward! There were quite a few times where I was like O.o WHoot?! Did he really just say that straight in his face? He even managed to shut up Nobunaga at one time <3 Certainly he doesn't hold back with his oppinion most of the time. Surprisingly enough I had had less problems with Kotaru Fuuma while using Hanbei or Kanbei than in any other games. Hanbei just beats him up from the distance, I suppose and Kanbei's one fist is mightier than his two hehehehe. And good to see the rewievers might start to understand the appeal that is SW3 :3 |
