In other words, LDZ is stuck in the past and has a hard time letting go of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weapon concept...

:P

I joke of course. But I get.

Do standard weapons have more reach like they did in DW6 (which was the only type of weapon I used)

What are these special items and how to trigger them? The other day only I just stumbled upon the item called Orb of Changes. And today again in Oichi's story.

Finally I'm on the last character story with Ieyasu Tokugawa, thanks to Seraphil's advice a long time ago to keep his until late.

Yeah, that's called Orb of Changes. I assumed there were more fun special items like that. It says in the manual there are additional items and plus there are special items that only appear in two-player games.

ohh i see :P.. I just figured the items you get (on the 3rd set) are ones to help you complete the tactical missions because 9/10 times, the item i need is there  ..

I havnt really noticed other special items that are that useful or even have a purpose... :(

I believe so. That's what I thought as well. Because like for instance in clearing the defeat guard captain in 30 secs in Osaka, it would give you a time-slower as an option.

Meanwhile now I've done all stories plus some repeats, 100 hours in, I guess I'll go through them again one-by-one getting all unique weapons and level 50s. During which I'll play Historical Mode more and Murasame Castle.

Also I really wish that they had done a music mix for Tedorigawa again.

100% agreed

And why doesn't Kizugawa have it's own music as it appears in many story modes...

@donthatekongming: There are 4th weapons which are called Unique. Basically in any stage there's main missions and also sub-missions. By completing the sub-missions on a certain stage (depending on the character) on Hard or Chaos difficulty you can acquire the weapon. And the ones I've done were not easy, even with very high levellled characters the time is strict.

So it's still there for the challenge. And I can think of much more awful ways to getting ultimate weapons. Like Warriors Orochi with just getting 500 KOs, although quite understandable due to sheer size of roster.

@Fuuma: Definitely. Tedorigawa was a cool piece I liked in SW2.

I'm in love with those 40 cm figures.
Honestly, I think I'd love to own all characters in such craftmanship... but...
Given my budget I think I'll try to restrain myself to Hanbei and Kanbei. Depending on the price I might also go for Mitsunari and Yukimura (despite still not being happy with the red-blue combination), Sakon and Aya :3
... And maybe Kotaru :P

That is, if all of them get figurines to begin with. Yuki and Aya I've seen, but the others I think not.

Mah... If only they'd make a Taigong Wang figure ... *_*

The only thing that made me laugh, was seeing Keiji and Masamune next to each other... Was that a perspective thing or was Masamune really as tall as Keiji? XDDDDDDDD

You needed 500 KOs to get Ultimate Weapons on WO?? Wha...

I don't want to turn this into a WO topic though...but I don't recall having to have 500 KOs.

Anyways.

The Unique Weapons are actually Unique? As in they do have a different look (presumably SW2's 4th weapons)?

Well , In SW2 .. To Unlock Keji's Weapon You needed 1000 KO (Maybe that was in SW1 .. I don't remember)
,,
Yes, Unique weapons are the 4th Weapons... I dunno about all the characters but Kuno's Unique Weapon is Her 4th From SW1

You didn't ... just collect a weapon on 3-4 star and above stage on Hard difficulty or any star Chaos

On-topic: With everyone now in Basara Fever, I've noticed my interest in this game wavering even further :kurokan:

I've been watching some of the SB3 gameplay videos and comparing them to SW3. I think I'd enjoy the stories more in SW3 due to being more familiar with the series, but the SB3 gameplay just looks more intense. It plays much quicker than SW3, or so it seems from the videos.

SB3 looks flashy and fast paced, but it looks like it'd get really boring really fast.

SW3 isn't quite as flashy, but I will say I have kind of lost interest in the game as well. The hype isn't quite around any more, and the lack of new videos to keep my interest doesn't help matters. I don't know why releasing it over in the US is taking so long following Europe's release...

Hopefully my interest in SW3 will be renewed come September. I'd buy the game anyways, regardless, but it would be nice to actually enjoy my trip to gamestop.

Still, I have Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions and SUper Hero Squad Online to sort of hold me over (news anyways...)

Well, considering Japan and Europe already received the game, months before NA release, it's not too surprising to see that this thread isn't as high as value as it once was. Also, think back to the SB3 thread back when SW3 came out... wasn't nearly as active; obviously, whatever game is new and out is going to get more attention than a game that either hasn't come out yet for some folks (but were exposed to a lot before hand thanks to other countries getting it), or has been out for a longer period.

To be surprised that the SB3 thread is getting more activity when the game just came out, than a thread for a game that half the forum members have (and the other half doesn't have), is rather silly. It's to be expected.

Luckily for me, they're coming out around the same time as the other for me in the States, and they both have warranted my attention. One for more serious story and characters, and the other for pure, untainted fun. Both have their flaws, major flaws, but I have a feeling I'll love them both.

In SW1XL unlocking Keiji's 6th weapon required 2000 KOs and in SW2 his 4th weapon required 1000 KOs. Just to mention.

Wow the new figures look awesome! I'm guessing just by the pictures that they're of a decent size...or are they just mini ones? ]x
Too bad Aya is the only girl...I would have loved kunoichi :3

Trust me your rekindled interest will occur due time closer to it's release.

I've had the game and have played for over 105 hours now. I have a few characters level 50 (Nobunaga, Yukimura, Ina, Kiyomasa) and a few more very close to being the same. Plus then you can upgrade further by unlocking a characters max stats extended bar which allows them to maximize all stats.

The series really feels like it's at it's strongest form yet, I've had great fun playing it. There's lots of stuff to do. Like in this one you can go back to a story and clear all sub-missions which gives you at the end of it a gold cleared name for that person. It may not be much it seems, but it's still there to keep you going.

The stories have been exciting (great cutscenes, much better than DW6's scenes where there was hardly any fighting but talking), the combat is better than ever thanks to Eigi, levels are just superb (like Mikatagahara, great acting by Ieyasu may I include.) And the musical score is brilliant.

You will have lots of joy. And even if the ''it's on the Wii'' is buried in your mind or you think it will be outdated when it arrives, it still feels like it's never been better.

I would say probably Tadakatsu, Ina, Yukimura. But honestly it's really hard to pick a favorite story. Although I have a favorite character, Yukimura, so I guess I could call his.

I found Tadakatsu's, Ina's and Hanzo's miles better than SW2s iterations. They really played out well. In this version Tadakatsu's really does do him justice and make him feared in the land.

There's loads more of fantastic stories in the game. So it would just depend who you like and you're sure to not be displeased.

the Japanese version has Historical Mode, but i don't think it has online capabilities like the EU version

Just pointing out a huge and glaring error, has anyone noticed on Motonari's 3rd level, Kozuki Castle, when Kanbei moves towards Terumoto, and the mission comes up to save Terumoto, Motonari says something like

"It's fine when people try to kill me, but now they go for my son"

HUGE error there. Maybe the EU translaters did that cause it would've looked kinda stupid if Motonari looked about 20-30 and he had a fully grown grandson.

Motonari is actually dead by the time of his story- he just is more popular than the other Mouri. No error, artistic lisence on the part of Koei
