I have a question ^_^ If I beat one story mode, would I have enough rice to buy at least one character or not even close to one? O.o
You get 100 rice for completing a story mode, thats already enough for one character. Also it can depend on what certain missions are in the story (rice rewards) and how well you do (i think) which can also give you just about enough.

I find that i get about 80 rice throughtout a story.. (not including the 100 rice you get)
I see, thanks
Would 4th weapons mission include rice as well or just weapons? :XD

@Liu Shay - I believe its only for the Wii

And here I was wondering what was slightly off of the SW3 Display coverart they have at work...

*seriously didn't notice it, and can't help but think that maybe DiC had a hand in this random censorship*

I think it's the same as the previous games if you have a classic controller Pro but if you play it with Wii remote it'll feel strange .

Like I said in the controllers thread, I fully intend to play it with the Wiimote & nunchuck. It'll have that "new game feel" better that way.

Because you get the weapon by completing the tactical missions, it depends if any of the 4 missions give rice rewards lol.

The 27th is the actual release date. It depends if your retail store has it in stock on the same day, if you're fortunate to find a copy.

I've already pre-ordered my copy, so I can't be too sure.

The 27th is the ship date. The game shouldnt be available for you to get until Tuesday the 28th. Tuesdays are release days for most video games and dvds here in the US. Generally Koei would follow shipping it same day as release and thus I have always gotten my Koei games Wednesday. At which point you often find people on the forum, complaining that Gamestop didnt have the game yet when they went down on the "release date".
But Nintendo, among other bigger companies ship their games on Mondays, so they are available on Tuesday(new release day). Ive even found sources that list its release date as the 28th.

The game isnt nearly big enough to have one. The game probably wont even arrive at stores till Tuesday morning.

Midnight releases are strictly for games with a street date and have accumulated enough reservations, two things that SW3 unfortunately has failed to do. Some stores might get it on the 27th, but I know for a fact that my Game Stop will not be getting it until Tuesday.

*sigh*

Of course, at least now our computer systems say the actual release date and not the shipping date, so at least I know not to expect it until the 28th. Random GS changes are random.

As for how I'm going to play this game, my experience with SB3 led me to run out and buy a classic controller pro. I still haven't found out how to unlock SB3's "bullet time" feature with the wiimote and nunchuku.

Doesn't feel like a Warriors game with a Wiimote... at least to me. Save the Wiimote for games that properly utilize the controls, I say.

My Gamestop usually has it the next day (Tuesday). I have never had an issue with my local retailer not having any KOEI games come in. The issue I have had was that I waited too long and didn't pre-order and so they sold out...but they always have a few copies come in.

Besides, I have Three Gamestops, FYE, Best Buy, two Wal-Marts, and a Target all close by my house. So if one doesn't have it, I move on to the next one...usually the closer Gamestop has it in stock though...

Besides, I have it pre-ordered and half paid off anyways...

I dont understand why they put characters in the game but dont give them a story....can someone explain this please!! :XD
Well, to my knowledge Koei never officially came out and gave a full explanation as to why they made FMO characters, but most of it can be explained through assumptions and logic.

F(ree)M(ode)O(nly) characters are made thus because of A) they are simply not important enough to the overall plot to warrant the time/money/effort to be given a story, B) were considered for stories but were cut due to time constraints of other issues, or C) they are simply considered bonus characters and offer absolutely no relevance to the overall plot.

As far as SW goes, I think it's a mixture of A and B. Characters like Ranmaru, Yoshimoto, Noh and Okuni were important enough to make it into the game, but not really important enough to have a story mode made for them. Given how Noh's SW2 story sucked giant monkey balls compared to her first, she probably wasn't going to have that great of a story anyways, so no loss there.

Between those four, Yoshimoto would have been great for a story, considering Koei FINALLY had some pre-Nobunaga events going on between Shingen, Hojo's Solid Snake, and Kenshin, but I guess Koei didn't really feel like rehashing the whole 'kimari in the capital' story for a third game in a row. Missed opportunity on Koei's part, if you ask me, but I know only a handful of people who appreciate Yoshimoto anyway, so I guess I'm one of the few that would have liked to see some actual, honest to good STORY with this guy.

As for B, I throw Katsuie and Toshiie into that lot. Given how great their stories were in the previous installation (SW2XL), they could have been given another chance to shine, but I'm guessing Koei either felt they had their moments to shine, or simply ran out of time and had to make that choice. Toshiie at least pulls a DW6 Lu Meng and plays a key role in Keiji's story, but Katsuie doesn't get much screen time, at least I don't think he does. I know cut scenes only show 30% of the story mode in this game, but seeing as Katsuie shows up in, what, maybe one?

Yeah, hopefully someone else who's already played the game can swoop in and tell me if Katsuie has importance in other characters' stories, but we'll find out in a day or two I'm sure.

Wow what you said makes a lot of sense..thank you for answering my question and making so detail so I could even understand lol!!!

I have to agree 100% about Toshiie and Katsuie....I love Toshiie..my favorite character in the series. I loved his story in XL by far one of my favorites.

It just kind of sucks to see him in a game but not really having a story but I am glad he is in the game ya know.

I know i have been asking a lot of questions but here is one more :D

if they make a SW3 Empires or XL will that only be for the Wii also?
