Then wait out till the PS3 version will be translated and be shipped over to the US. Personally for those who haven't played the Wii version yet but have a PS3 should do that.

On the other hand, those who pretty much played through the Wii version should wait for 3XL.

I saw the new image with Ranmaru, Nouhime, and thatonechick.

ISN'T THAT THE CUTEST THING EVER!??!

I'll say that SW has characterization and stuff and especially humor over DW hands down.

Just got the game a couple of days ago. The framerate caught me at first and made it a bit difficult to get into but I stuck with it and got used to it. I'm enjoying the game so far. Pretty good stories, pretty good VAs. The graphics are terrible though, there are no 'ifs' or 'buts' about it. The textures are off in a lot of place and a lot of things just look blocky. The animation when you break down screens is laughable.

I dunno, it just seems dull after playing Basara which looked better in that area (but fell short in others).
So, just finished Hanzo's story mode. It's a bit bittersweet at the end though the significant time jump between levels 4 and 5 is a bit disorientating. He's as badass as ever though.

I'm finding myself missing a number of SW2's voice cast. Nene just didn't feel like Nene, haha.

Wow, I had no idea they've used Gackt's song to promo the game :O
Gotta say I'm so jealous of you guys to have this game. I hope the developers will come to their senses and give it to the outside world on 360 as well. I wanna know if Aya 5000 plays so well with her naginata. Seems like a promising character to play with.

So, just a while ago, my copy of SW3 came in the mail after 4 months of waiting. Excited I popped in the disc and it started working fine...

until I selected the story mode and attempted to start playing. After the "character's" story comes up, this is where the opening cinematic of the character would play, but instead I encounter a disc error. Checking again, this seems to happen with all characters.

Keep in mind, I'm in the Philippines so many Wii's that are bought here are usually modified from the get-go to play the more affordable pirated games, but this doesn't seem to be the case for my other original Wii games since they work perfectly.

Right now I'm attempting to clean it, get rid of the dust, etc. Any tips on how I can get this to work? I'm really beside myself with anger after waiting for 4 months and finding the blasted thing doesn't work properly.

I finally picked it up with some Amazon credit from a trade-in for 18.00 dollars. Needless to say, I was ecstatic. And just when I was about to just pack up the Wii and likely bring out the Gamecube.

I'm rather disappointed at KOEI for not releasing this for PC and I think KOEI is just being selfish.

I am not pissed off at Koei for not releasing SW3XL/Z overseas. After all we have SW3 the original game and I am satisfied with it. Furthermore, the only major differences between the original game and Xtreme legends are the additional stories and one returning character.

And I don't usually pay attention to graphics, so it is fine for not releasing the game for PS3 as well.

I think I can live without getting Xtreme Legends as Chronicles is a pretty solid game and I got most of what I actually wanted out of Xtreme Legends from it.

The only thing I want from Xtreme Legends are the story modes. With Samurai Warriors 3, I feel little urge to play stages in Free Mode, so I don't even purchase the FMO characters with the rice I earn. Okuni is one of my favourites, but I don't enjoy the castle mode, so she'd just sit there, gathering dust, just like the characters with finished Story modes.

If they had tales, I would have more incentive to play as them finally, and not feel my mind going numb.

*Sigh* I guess at some point down the line I'll have to buy the Wii version now that there's no chance of us getting any other version.

Damn you KOEI. *shakes fist*

I wouldn't say No chance. Dynasty Warriors Gundam Special wasn't brought to the states either (I dont think) and those games are arguably less popular than SW and DW. There is still a chance we'll see SW4, it is a bit too soon to write it off.

EDIT - NVM. I misread the post XD

I guess I could understand why SW3Z isn't coming to the US. Koei can't afford to have low sales on one of their games again especially in the revenue situation they are in now.

But oh well, there always more games in the future, right?

Hmm, anyone try this yet?

Try playing the Ueda Castle stage Sanada side as Mitsunari.

On another note, despite my story/murasame locked game, I managed to unlock all the characters. And it only took me...70 hours of gameplay time!

Does anyone know how to combine SW3 and SW3XL?
I have just tried the XL just now but I don't know how to play the Original Career mode because all the text is in Japanese
Thanks :)

If you have an English SW3 and a Japanese SW3XL, then obviously they're incompatible with each other.

Both of my SW3 and XL are in Japanese version.
I can import the save game from the original, but can't play the original career mode
It says something but in Japanese, so I don't understand what's it said...

Bought SW3 today, for the Wii. It's my mom's system that she rarely uses so I'll be getting a nice amount of play time with it. I wasn't able to play it though because of the horrible controls on the wiimote. It's unplayable with that damn remote control IMO. I plan on getting a classic pro controller tomorrow so I'll dive into it then.

I'm a little scared. I haven't played a SW game in a really long time. I've forgotten a lot about the story and the characters. Are the story modes in this game good enough to remind me?

Oh, and Kotaro not getting a story mode? Friggin' weak.

Unfortunately my copy is faulty so I can't give my own experiences with story modes.

But back when the game was new, I heard people give a lot of accolades for the stories of this game. As far as the narrative of the stories go, word of mouth says they're good.

The story modes generally follow the timeline of the sengoku period still, but character interactions and stories have been revamped almost completely so the majority of the story you get SW3 are not the same as SW2 or 1... I could give examples, but it's better if you find out for yourself...

I thought you have to use the MixJoy feature?

Put XL disc in, select MixJoy, take out XL disc, put in SW3 original disc, etc.

That's how it worked with the PS2 versions of XL.
