By the by, I looked up info on the Kasai-Osaki Riots, and it seems I misinterpreted a VERY important piece of information.

Masamune wasn't sent by Hideyoshi to quell the rebels, he was the one SUPPORTING them. Thus, this stage will be a Toyotomi Vs. Date stage!

Here is the translated excerpt where I found this out:

Quote:

After Hideyoshi took Odawara, he had to face revolts in Kasai and Osaki in the north. Date Masamune sided with the rebels, but did not appear at the front due to pressure from Gamo Ujisato. After the rebels were pacified, Hideyoshi called Masamune. In the following year, accompanied by Ujisato, Masamune came to Hideyoshi who pressed him by exposing his letters to the rebels.

Masamune insisted on his innocence, saying, “I did not side with these rebels. It must be a slander. The wagtails in the seals of these letters have no pupils while mine have. So these letters are fake.” Later Hideyoshi had his men collect Masamune’s letters which had been sent to various lords, and learned what he had said about his seal was true. Finally he pardoned Masamune.

Later Ii Naomasa heard about this, and asked Ieyasu, “Last year when I was in the north, I was most certain that Masamune was siding with the rebels. But he was pardoned. I wonder if the investigation by Regent Hideyoshi was thorough.”

Ieyasu explained,”Regent Hideyoshi was not ignorant of Masamune’s scheming. But he gave him credit because Masamune came to see him when called. That was the first reason. The second was that he was impressed by Masamune’s bold attitude as an indefatigable warlord who insisted that the letters were faked. The third was Masamune’s high-handed attitude or clever scheming in having sent letters to many lords with his seal of wagtails as if he had anticipated the future outcome. Such a well-prepared calculation shows nothing but a superior quality of an excellent warlord. Our Lord Hideyoshi perceived and admired these three qualities of Masamune and forgave him. And this likewise shows Regent Hideyoshi’s capacity and perception are even greater than those of of Masamune.”

Looking forward to Kai and Masamune going at each other's throats.

Wait. I wonder where Magoichi will fit into this? He's caught in the middle!

Kaihime acts a lot more like a modern teenage girl than expected.

Ginchiyo is tsundere as usual.

Nene's 4th stage is Komaki, last stage is Odawara.

Spoiler: click to toggle

3rd NPC or not... guess we'll find out once all stories have been completed.

Kasai-Osaki Riot sounds interesting. Masamune was potrayed as loyal Toyotomi officer until the Sekigahara events in SW2. I suppose he will be potrayed as more independent and determined this time.

If Gracia is in Mitsuhide's artwork, I wonder if she'll be a child like Xing Cai was or if she'll be in her SW2XL outfit...?

Some more tidbits.

Ujiyasu has dialogue with Yoshimoto... including something about how Ujiyasu's wife and Yoshimoto look similar(Ujiyasu's wife is Yoshimoto's sister.) Hopefully he just means the Kyoto-Noble style of white powdered makeup and painted eyebrow marks...

Ujiyasu's 5th stage is defending Kanto from Tokugawa-Date(and Takeda-Uesugi too I think.)

Hanbei Musou
Inabyama -> Anegawa -> Nagashino -> Kizugawaguchi -> Chugoku Invasion

Apparently Hanbei is a 4th wall meta-knowledge gamer in his dialogue with Kunoichi at Nagashino.

Yoshihiro's final stage is a showdown with the Tokugawa-Mouri alliance in Kyoto.

*heart skips a beat*

This is awesome beyond words. I loved his final battle last time, and this sounds like it's going to be even better. I can't wait to bring those whelps Muneshige and Ginchiyo to their knees. Wonder what's Motonari's opinion on Yoshihiro...

Ieyasu Musou
Anegawa -> Iga Crossing -> Komaki-Nagakute -> Sekigahara -> Osaka

Some funny moments with Oda Nobukatsu(generic) in Komaki and Masanori everywhere.

No Mikatagahara? I'm stunned. Would've thought Iga Crossing would have been tossed to Hanzo and Ina. Mika was a "turning point battle" for Ieyasu as a leader last time. Now I wonder how much of a role Mitsuhide will play in Ieyasu's Story.

That's just adorable, though a little disheartening to hear. I guess that means that Koei decided to throw more emphasis on the motherly side of Nene this time around? I'm guessing they didn't have the balls to do the whole Nene-Hideyoshi-Kaihime... guess they didn't want angry parents on their case. Or maybe it hasn't been revealed yet and I'm acting too rashly.

As for Masamune, I'm definitely liking the sounds of that. I was unaware of that event, so now I'm looking forward to that level.

Sadly they based a lot of her persona around being the mother hen in SW2 so i expected to see as much with SW3 (even though it was a pretty weak projection of her character as based on her SW2 portrayal a lot of us for many months had her down as one of the most likely to be cut from the roster).

I can understand KOEI taking the easy route though and going around the whole Kai/Hideyoshi elements... its not like KOEI took on the generally accepted Nobunaga/Ranmaru maturer elements either if you get my meaning. Still when i think of No and Okuni im not sure KOEI are outright against some sexual references and those two are hardly subtle with them - as you said my friend we shall have to wait and see as we could both be jumping to conclusions far too rashly

From the sounds of it, Kai spends rather little focus as Hideyoshi's concubine and much more as a Hojo officer. Her interaction seems to be chiefly with Ujiyasu and Kunoichi.
