Looking back, I guess I was sort of expecting Motochika's story to at least involve Motonari due to the close proximity of their fief's, but since Motonari in this game is a brought-out-of-retirement-badass with a completely different story, I guess Motochika's had to be different as well.

We could have expected something similar to SW2XL, but as that one was a copy-paste story of almost any other non-Toyotomi draftee, we couldn't see it again. And this time around the Tachibana and Shimazu are buddies with Motonari in his respective story.

So I guess it's alright that Motochika gets something completely different, but to think they made this awkward relationship permanent now over a family marriage thing.

I'm on for motochika story mode more actually because:
It's better to fight with an army & a friend than fighting in one island with some not-needed stages ....
Oh well , That My Opinion...

I agree with Xalfrea

Is the Shikoku theme a remix or completly new track?

Historically though, the time that Nobunaga is at the height of his conquering is when Motochika's sitting back nicely with Shikoku newly conquered under his belt.

But if there's anything with this game, it's history being thrown out the window and flushed down the toilet.

If the lord of Shikoku: Motochika doesn't have his own island stage, I don't see the theme being there at all. Therefore, the Shikoku theme is likely cut out.

So Motochika will be a Mitsuhide fanboy? With this, I really hope one of the Saito siblings be UNPC.
now that would be something worth while -but i don't understand no shikoku dammit koei what are you doing ??? - and seraphil are you sure motochika's last stage is anegawa ?????

EDIT:i think the complaints thread is a good thing (as have just gone crazy about motochika's story mode)

Ain't that the truth?

But on the bright side, the "Mitsuhide is Tenkai" thing is exposed here. It has been talked for decades (centuries perhaps).

I suppose Koei wants to add some folklores in their games, like in Tendou where you could play Ieyasu's kagemusha.

Third time this question has been asked, yet the answer is still the same:
If there would have been a scan online, we most certainly would have the link to it by now.
As it is, someone merelly dropped of the bomb of info for Seraphil to pick up and pass on to us.

If Gracia was an NPC I'm certain some of the players would have spottet her by now and reported it.
Aside from that Xing Cai was in Zhang Fei's Artwork as well, yet didn't make an appearance in DW6.
Same goes for Da Qiao who was in the Artwork of her sister, yet never made it into the game hrself.

EDIT:
*facepalms* Just saw the video, thought without voices. *sighs*
Thought I was looking forward to a catfight, it certainly wasn't with those two...
From the way they were acting both of them come across rather teenager-like... In a way that make both of them drop in my eyes.
*rows Kaihime in the to-play list further back*
This makes Kai the last new character I'm planning on playing unless I need the money for completing her story for another character first.

TBH I'm more interested in the second revealed video in the lowest row.

Now don't get me wrong, it's awesome that some of these stories are taking a completely new direction, but a part of me was hoping that history could be adhered more with this game. But if it has to be sacrificed for good storytelling, I'm game.

On another note, what is this "Mitsuhide is Tenkai" thing?

I don't really mind the drastic changes in story modes so far. If they did keep Motochika's story more in line with history, it would be pretty much the same as his SW2:XL. In this situation, I say its better to do something original. Now two of my top 5 characters will be fighting alongside each other the whole way. :)

Now if only they give Toshiie and Katsuie stories by the PS3 release...

Btw, I take it there are no Gaiden stages? If so then thats a bummer...

Also, any more word of Kanbei's, Motonari's, and Kiyomasa's musou modes?

Long story short, Mitsuhide's body was never found after Yamazaki, and the legend goes he assumed the identity of Nankobo Tenkai, a Buddhist monk who later acted as an advisor to Ieyasu and the Tokugawa shogunate after Sekigahara. Hence Mitsuhide helping Ieyasu at Seki in SW3.

There is a rumour that Mitsuhide survives Hideyoshi's onslaught and became a monk named Nankobo Tenkai, who has many influence to the Tokugawa in the early Edo.

There is a legend that Mitsuhide survived the battle of Yamazaki. Burdened by grief, he hid away in the mountains for year under the alias of a monk named Tenkai. Supposedly, he later offered support to Ieyasu somehow (cant remember how exactly) during Sekigahara as a means of vengeance against the Toyotomi. Though some say that Tenkai may have been Hidemitsu Akechi (Mitsuhide's nephew) who did survive after Yamazaki, though he supposedly commited Seppuku later. Of course, that could have been a ruse so that he could hide himself away.

The Legend of Tenkai and the Akechi was also a major plot point in the fourth Onimusha game.

Its also said that the reason Mitsuhide's body was never recovered was because he was found by peasants who had him beheaded. Afterwards they supposedly tossed his body in a river and sent his head to Hideyoshi. Once again however, this is all speculation and legend.

I have done research on Mitsuhide in the past - and apparently his head was presented by Hideyoshi at Nobunaga's funeral

Awesome, this totally trumps the "I gotta kill the man I love!" story of SW2.

Now all that's left is to see how the other stories go and if they have gotten better.

After Mitsuhide was defeated at Yamazaki, it was rumoured that he survived and took a new identity, Nankobo Tenkai.

Nankobo Tenkai = Mitsuhide is just a legend but there was indeed a priest known as Nankobo Tenkai. He lived in 1536-1643 and worked as consultant to Ieyasu and other Tokugawa shoguns.

KOEI's not the first one to make use of this legend, though, since Capcom did it already with Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. However, instead of Mitsuhide, Samanosuke was known as Tenkai.

//Oh snap, I'm slow >_>.

So Motochika's become an Akechi-ish retainer.

What I said earliy about characters in SW2XL being cut or not having stories, I now add, having silly stories where all they do is serve a force they never did fight for, or have a historical story
