Basically Koei has changed the Magoichi they're using from Suzuki Shigehide(Hideyoshi's friend and the guy who fought for Honganji) to his son, Suzuki Shigetomo, who was the Magoichi who served the Date.

Oh now I see why he will be buddies with Masamune :o Didn't know that stuff...

Is the "Battle of Ueda castle" the one we know (Sanada vs. Tokugawa) or something completely new (considering Magoichi has no reason to be there)?

It's funny that we like Nouhime's outfits in the same order. LOL
Although, I think I like her SW1&2 outfits the same. I like and dislike different aspects of them.

I'm pretty happy with most of the new SW3 designs except for Motocika and Okuni. Ina's and Ginchiyo's could have used a little more 'oomph' too.
I kinda like Okuni's its new, nice, and simple. It resembles her SW1 outfit which I liked. But Motochika...OMG! I definitely agree with u there. I didn't say it but its a....*cough*MAJOR DISASTER!*cough* LOL  Its too fake and cartoony and nothing really matches or coordinates. It just looks like a bunch of random cloths were thrown together without any thought put behind it . Hes got WAY TO MUCH going on. His debut look was awesome though. love the shallow gothic type ponytail with the tattered leggings and the robe that had the long sleeves. I really liked that look. This one is....interesting to say it in the nicest possible way.

Wait....I think i might be getting to tense about this....So yea! back to Nouhime. I hope they make her specialty so her bombs pop enemies towards her. In SW1 it popped them away, in SW2 it popped them up and down, but they didn't pop all over the place. In WO2 it was the best as they would pop towards her. Lets hope her musou is like that in this game. I'm also curious to see her kaiden attack. Hopefully it will have someone representation of butterflies in it. like one of Zhang He's attack creates a butterfly aura. I hope her kaiden does that. ^_^
I think Okuni's hakama are absolutely terrible..She should have been wearing a less-bulky skirt IMO.
Motochika's outfit doesn't even suit the time period..It's just pure $#@*.

I'm reeeeaaally excited to see Nouhime in action!
I hope her Kaiden is awesome looking, the butterflu aura would be a nice touch. ^_^

It'd be the most feared thread in all of KW.
 Hahaha! Complete with reviews on each character's outfits that are so picky, they can make Tadakatsu cry!

These things suddenly make a lot of sense considering how huge the game is on disc, leaving pretty much no room for anything else to be added.

- Musou Mode-less characters
- No intro/death/retreat cutscenes
- Musou Mode-less characters do not have special quotes in stages
- No Gaiden stages
- No mouth-movement during victory pose
- No expression changes in dialogue boxes
- 20 unique stages in total
- Gracia and the Swordsmen cut
- No full-on alternate outfits
- Limited Edit Officer outfit/hair/face choices
- No Imagawa-side Okehazama, no Shibata-side Shizugatake

Sagi, Okuni isn't wearing a bulky skirt, she's wearing pants. LOL

Oh and good idea Shadow Ninja! LOL

Edit: Wow, Seraphil saying all that kinda bums me out now. They are cutting all that out. Yikes! That means no special quotes for Nouhime. Wat a shame. Dratz! Come on Koei....u need to upgrade ur technology so u can hold more stuff! Hahaha!

For once, Koei was being honest. I didn't want to be right about why the cuts were made, but what's done is done. I'm sure the inevitable port will fix most of these problems, though.

@Seraphil: I guess you're right. That means there could be a lot more content if/when the game gets ported.
@Heavenly Snow: I was referring to her hakama being bulky, haha. I think she'd look better in a more form-fitting skirt instead, similar to SW1.

So, maybe this is a good time to say this should have never been Wii excusive? *whistle* LOL, but it doesn't matter, this game still seems solid.

in all fairness some of the outfits are quite bad but 90% are good imo. i like when my characters look well. i can imagine the reviews would be harsh (tadakatsu would be like a kitten compared to your reviews)

A dual layer disc is a dual layer disc. As I said before. Microsoft offers high-end compression technology to fit several gigs of extra data on the same size disc, but Nintendo doesn't. I'm sure they could have compressed the data, but they opted not to, probably due to the horrendous load times it would produce.

Oh! so its the fact that wii can't hold as much data as the Ps3 or Xbox 360 can huh? Well my hopes are up again, that they will make some major additions to the ported version, maybe even include the cut characters back into the roster.

@Sagi: Oh yeah, I know wat u mean. It would look better if it was slimmed down. The largeness of it reminds me of Keiji or Katsuie or Mitsuhide's or the countless other guy charcater who have the big pants. Okuni's could use a slimming and hemming job! LOL ^_^

Well, the game being (temporarily~) Wii exclusive could be seen as Koei doing Nintendo a favor to help boost the Wii's popularity. Koei's preferred system is likely PS3 considering how most of their other recent big releases are aimed at it.

It worked for them with Tales of Symphonia (TAKE THIS FIRST AID), so it's about time that they tried it again. The only real question is how long Nintendo bought the exclusivity rights for. It's usually bought for a year, but knowing Koei, they may have negotiated to get it down to six or eight months.

Either way, it's obvious that they'll port the game in the near future.

I think another big reason as to why so much was cut out was because of the new marasuma or watever its called mode. That new mode with the new characters, levels, etc. Probably took up alot of the space, which in my opinion could have been used to keep the cut characters in, and give some of the free mode only characters story modes. I think the new mode is a bit of waste of space....and Takamura doesn't even have a unique moveset which makes it even more unecessary. Huh....but like u said. I guess they are just trying to help nintendo. -_- How dreadful.....

However, im not too worried as there will most likely be a ps3 port of this game.

@Shadow Ninja: To be honest, I think his look does suit him as a powerful officer. ^_^ Haha..

@Heavenly Snow: Exactly, her hakama are far too masculine looking in contrast to her feminine top.

I'm really looking forward to a ported version of this, I hope they'll add all of the content that the Wii couldn't fit. The wait is going to be murder though.
Luckily since that I've decided SSF4 is going to be sh!t, I'll buy the Wii version instead to tie me over.

I'm also hoping that Koei learns from Multi-Raid: Special and start utilizing online co-op. Musou games have amazing potential for online play, and that will make them a lot more popular to Western consumers as well.

Help Nintendo? is that a joke, or have I been out of the loop for a while, and Nintendo some how isnt doing very well? Ha ha......
But most likely that isnt the case, but more so, Koei saw it as a way to boost their own sales, by getting Nintendo to help out with the showcasing and advertising of it, and they had to make it exclusive to get that kind of backup.
But yeah, definitely when the rights go out, they will sure to be porting it.

Wow. It really shows how watered down this game is. A few of them, like the mouth-movement on the victory stages and the expression changes, are small... But still very noticeable in my opinion. They've really given the Musou Mode-less character the shaft as well, if they have no importance in any stage at all.

All characters should have a Musou Mode, simple as. They made the same dumb mistake with DW6. It almost feels like the series (Both SW and DW) is going backwards rather than forwards. SW3 resembles SW1 type graphics from what I can tell. Is it better than 2, or on the same level as 2, graphics wise, Seraphil? Be interesting to know.

If I remember correctly, there was suppose to be online coop for SW3, but because of a lack of space it was bagged and tossed into the dumpster. Would have been awesome if they had kept it though.

Edit: I get wat ur saying Miho. They do seem to be taking more and more out of them both. OH! LOL  Miho, why does ur gender say female? Ur a guy!

Magoichi's Story: Battle of Ueda Castle -> Kasai-Osaki Riots -> Mitsunari Rescue Mission -> Battle of Hasedou -> Siege of Osaka Castle

Looks like he does abandon his Nobunaga-centric story in favor of a Date one?
So I guess he helps Masamune stir up trouble for the Toyotomi in his second fight? I think his friendship with Hideyoshi is also on the chopping block. This is one radically different Magoichi; Seraphil's claim makes a lot of sense, though. :shifty:
