But you also forgot that KauSu is R-I-T-E. What? Yeah. I mean, KauSu is R-I-G-H-T. It wouldn't be all bad if someone wants to role-play a 5-year-old, but I guess it's only okay the character is role-played off of the battlefield. |

Name: Hei Zheng Any nicknames: none (no,that's not his nickname) Alleigance: Coalition ; Cao Cao Weapon: A sword with a serrated edge Personality: Hei Zheng is a calm man in the times of peace. In war,he becomes a beast and shows no mercy if he is not told to do so. He often says what he thinks, even in presence of high ranked officials or officers, which brings him into bad situations. He doesn't like that rank system, mostly because he is only half chinese, and because of this,he was often dispised in the cities. Hei Zheng is very bold, probably because he is still inexperienced in fighting against "real" soldiers. However,he is still a smart person and can see advantages of particular situations. He sometimes becomes nervous when talking to a good looking woman. Appearance: Hei Zheng has short, dark hair, brown eyes (which he has from his mother) and a shaved face. He wears a metal helmet with red feathers and an armor. Some parts of his armor are painted blue to show his affiliation to Cao Cao. He also wears a blue cape. Bio: Hei Zheng was born in the year 167 as the son of a chinese woman and an european father. His parents were killed very early and Hei Zheng was adopted by bandits, from whom he got his chinese name. As he grew older,he learned new fighting techniques. The bandit camp he lived in was however erradicated after some years and he had to left and move into the cities, where he was dispised because of his origin. He began to hide his true identity and lied all the time, telling he was the son of a rich official, which most people he met believed. When the Yellow Turban Rebellion broke out,he joined the unit of Cao Cao and served as a foot soldier in the fighting against the inferior peasants. He continued to serve Cao Cao and followed him in the flight from Luo Yang after Dong Zhuo had taken power. When Cao Cao called for the alliance against the tyrant,Hei Zheng saw his chance to prove his skill and rise to one of Cao Cao's officers. Hope this is ok for a created character and that the job history is unimportant enough to be accepted.

Looks like fun, I would like to join if it's not too late? Name: Ma Teng Alleigance: Coalition Weapon: Spear and Shield Personality: A somber man deeply dedicated to the people of Liangzhou and his own family including his 3 sons, Ma Teng cares little for the affairs of the Imperial Court, years of living in poverty have given him a somewhat cynical outlook on the world and he trusts few outside of his own family and his sworn brother Han Sui. He has adopted many of the ways and customs of the Qiang tribes he lived among once, and is often found clad in furs akin to the northern barbarians. He dreams of founding his own state where his people can live in peace and free of Han influence but for now he is willing to serve... He struggles to keep his sons in check at some times, and worries particularily about the headstrong and somewhat reckless Ma Chao. However he recognizes the threat that Dong Zhuo poses having crossed paths with the man on several occassions in the past and sends his forces to join the Coalition against the tyrant. Likes: Han Sui, Ma Chao Dislikes: Dong Zhuo, Huangfu Song |

Of course you can join now, character added. Because Ma Teng holds Tong Pass, the gateway to Chang'an, and the original state of the battle had him unaligned, putting Ma Teng on a side would offer a major shift in power. So, I'll try to figure something out to negate that shift. |

I have an idea. Why not have RTK IX style "[x] King", a tribe of barbarians holding that? OR, having it under the power of one of the eight rebels that joined Han Sui and Ma Chao? Cheng Yi, Cheng Yin, Yang Qiu, Li Kan, etc.. |

Ah I see, I just kinda assumed Ma Teng would be on the coalition side since he didn't like Dong Zhuo IIRC. But if you want me to be a kinda neutral 3rd party, I have no problem with that. In fact that's how I want to RP Ma Teng as being more concerned with his own interests and his own region than all of China and the Han. |

Good idea, and I was also thinking of something similar with Han Sui holding Tong Pass. However, if DarkDante wants to play as a third-party, then it may not be needed. @DarkDante - Ma Teng's dislike of Dong Zhuo would make sense, and I based off his neutrality from the RotK joining of the coalition and the historical 'alliance' with Dong Zhuo to combat the coalition, where Ma Teng is recorded to have stationed his forces at Chang'an. Feel free to have him join either side or be neutral, but if he's going to stay neutral, I just don't want you to get bored staying at Tong (of course there are other ways to play his neutrality, maybe even trying to claim both Hangu bases, but, well, yeah). |

Name: Sima Yi Alleigance: Coalition (Wei) Weapon: Sword at the hip and spear strapped around back. If only one can be allowed; spear. Age: 18 Personality: Arrogant, calm, elitist, somewhat cruel, and effective. He predicted the fall of the Han and recently joined Cao Cao to escape his life as a hermit and use the knowledge passed down from the Sima family to find what the world has in store for the "self-proclaimed" smartest man in China. He expects great things from Cao Cao and plans to guide his path with intellect. Likes: Cao Cao Dislikes: Zhuge Liang I think I'll start playing through this RP more, both with Shao and Sima Yi. Ehh, it's been a good day so far and I'm in a good mood. Advancing by age does make sense for a realistic roleplay, but you make a good point, Xaldin, it could limit things. You can advance his age up to whatever age probably up to 30. My only concern is the weapon you've requested -- I'm not so much a fan of using his DW6 weapon in an RotK RP. I'll accept him with whatever age you determine, but not with the eradication claws. (personally, I think Sima Yi using a spear as if I remember correctly described in the novel is pretty awesome... but that's just me ) Sorry if it seems harsh or to be a funkiller. And thank you Lord_Cao_Cao (hopefully got the correct name this time!) for holding the logic of the year. I'd revise my post more but I need to leave for now. |

Fair enough. I'll edit him later after I think of a weapon, though I do like spears. Also, I should state that I've never played a RotK before. I played one of them for like 5 minutes and I was like "lolno". Not sure if that will affect anything. |

I don't think it will affect anything,as we do not go by the games, but the novel and history. So you don't have to worry about it. @Bamboo: Yes,it was correct this time.

Okay, thank you Xaldin for cooperating. I think the coalition has less generals being actively played compared to Dong Zhuo, so taking Sima Yi up should be some help. And don't worry, I've never played an RotK either, as the post above me said, we're going by novel and history. Which reminds me, the only problem that comes to me concerning one that hasn't read the novel or knows much about the history would have problems with is the ranks. As some might have read, Wang Yun is one of the Three Excellencies (Minister over the Masses), Liu Bei is the magistrate of Pingyuan, but really the importance of mentioned ranks should be highlighted through the context it's put in. @Lord_Cao_Cao - weeee. Feel free to keep your battle plans secret, but you must say within your in-thread posts where you move your troops, any materials you're setting up, etc. I feel like I'm not being specific enough but it should make due for now. If I see anything wrong I'll point it out. Edited by Bamboo, Sat Aug 21, 2010 10:46 pm.

How about we set up a list for characters and their current ranks on the first page? That way everyone will know. I.e., me. I've only played DW games, never actually read the novel. I've looked up some Wikipedia on the DW characters but that's about it really. >_> |

Good idea, I'll set that up now. It'll be in a spoiler box, and it's label will be "Here are some alternative names that some characters might be called within the roleplay - " Hope it'll help everyone.

Yeah I think that's the best idea folks, so Ma Teng and his army will join the coalition camp while Han Sui is left in charge of defending Tong Pass and looking after Liangzhou, guarding from barbarians and internal strife while Ma Teng is away. |

Han Sui is lame though, leave it to someone cooler like Cheng Yi and Yin. Where Yi is the commander and Yin can be the subordinate he dispatches to reinforce specific locations. |

@DarkDante - okay. I'll be playing as Han Sui for now, and I will consider letting him go if anyone requests him. @KauSu - Hey, I like Han Sui. Cheng Yi(n) were his subordinates, and Han Sui is practically the closest man to Ma Teng so he'd be trusted with holding Tong Pass. I want to keep whoever is holding that base a neutral party, and won't be doing anything/sending out soldiers.
