I've been thinking, will we get more weapons when we rank up, or are the current weapons (Tyrant Sword, Iron Sword, Spear, etc.) the only ones available yet? I'm not so very found playing with these movesets, so I was wondering when we'll be getting new types of weapons.

@Celestial

In Japanese version... There is only ONE character per account for most accounts, except the following:

  • Account created during "Yahoo! BB" era (Prior ISP unblock in May 2007, they told me that they can hold 3 characters)
  • PS3 account that had bought Feb 2010's SSMO PS3 and Nov 2010's SSMO:Soutenranbu PS3. There is serial number to be added for those players for 2nd character slot.
So, basically... Unless Aeria is willing release the PS3 version or something like what JP did, you will have to get another Aeria Game's account to create another character. (I have 12 GAMECITY accounts and created 7 DWO accounts)

@xDaQiaox

I'm not sure how they translated the ranks... but here is my current revision of "Rank Table" in my DWO Guide (Draft Copy)

Posted Image

I hope that I did not switch any ranks around in English Rank column because I had skipped to Guard (200 Honors Rank) in Closed Beta.

But the higher than 100,000 Honors will not arrive for sometimes for EN server, since those ranks was just added today in JP server for the expansion of SSMO:Soutenranbu.

Eye spy with my little eye, Sima Yi's fan! :) Guess I'll be playing a lot harder now!

And wow, am I disappointed :( My favorite fan isn't capable of doing much online features easily. In a defeat, I lagged behind with barely 300 KO's, while the rest of my group had 500+. Poor fan can't keep up with it :( Even making a rediculously strong jump charge won't help!

Gah! Now I need to test out the Pirate Sword. If that doesn't suit me much, then I'll have to do with Zhou Yu's Iron Sword. :kurokan:

Oh well, i can wait :shifty:

@Joetri10

Short Answer: I have characters for all forces...

Long Answer: In JP server, I had been collecting statistics and estimate on how many players in each force and trying to connect and see if whether the amount of players affect the outcome for "War" battles. In most case, if there are significant amount of players difference in 2 forces (around 250+ players at least), then it is most likely that the more players side will win that "War." I'm also spying around all of my old buddies all over the places (after the first episode, Dong Zhuo in Luo Yang, many buddies spread all over the places).

@xDaQiaox

It seems that Aeria Games using the words totally different from JP initial EN translation...

Let's first talk about "Showdown"...

In JP Server, the "Showdown" is called "Royal Battles" in EN title. (I am simply called "12 vs 12 Event Battles") This type of battle only happens based on the event time that GM had been set. (In JP server, it is every 2 weeks in FRI/SAT/SUN, alternate with "War" battles)

The real deal is this... In this 12 vs 12 battles, you will enter a large map with 5 ~ 7 bases (depending on the randomness). Each team will have a "Supply Line Bar" on the top of the screen that players will need to protect. The objective for this battle is to destroy the "Enemy's Supply Line" down to ZERO.

Here is how the thing went in JP server... EN server should be only minor differences.

You can do this only when the GM had set the schedules for "Showdown" (you can register yourself for a "Showdown" up to 2 hours before the actual "Showdown" time) You will have to go to the NPC to the left of Melee NPC, then select the first option to choose which "Showdown" battle do you want to enter. It comes in various time, difficulty, and conditions. Choose the one that you seem to be fit with. Once you register, you can do whatever while you wait. However, make sure THAT you have to be in town before the 5 minutes of the schedule that you choose or else you will lose your spot!

Once you enter into the preparation screen (5 minutes before the starting time), you will be able to choose weapons, one usable item (or fused 2-in-1 Alchemy item), one Cash Shop item, and one "Policy" that you will use with. The policy will determine which stat you will focus on. There are Aggressive, Destruction, Defensive, Speed, and Well-All-Around. Choose one. You will have to wait FULL 5 minutes anyways as there is no "Go to Battle" button, so use the time to think strategy with other members.

As soon as the battle begins, all ally and enemy bases will start to make the counter to deplete the Supply Line, which is the highlight on the base start from bottom filling to the top, it takes about 2 minutes to be fully filled. Your objective here is to protect your bases for FULL 2 minutes, so that the base can damage the enemy "Supply Line." (The longer you protect, the better) I am sure that you will have to PvP on uneven odd frequently... So try to stick with the team if necessary.

There is also the "Supply Base" on the each end of the map. Players can go and destroy the 4 "Fire-Powder Boxes" that is inside the corners of the Supply Base. Those boxes damage the "Supply Line" in huge amount instantly. However, your team have to damage those boxes at right time or else that may work against yours! (As if you damage those boxes too early, then your enemy's team may able to take over all of bases (as it is usually required quite a couple players to destroy those boxes that has 3x Durability Bars) and ending up deplete all of your "Supply Line" instead...)

Winner team will get double Honors of the Losing based on difficulty regardless of the performance (everyone in the team get the same Honors). [Novice = W16 L8, Normal/Musou = W20 L10, Expert = W24 L12]

Then, "Campaigns..."

In JP server, the "Campaigns" called "War" in EN Title. (My original term for my DWO Guide was "Fight" and changed to "War" during early-2009) As I started earlier, in JP server... The 12 vs 12 battles and "War" host alternate weekends. So, if that hold true for EN server, then there "Showdown" and "Campaigns" will be host alternate weekends.

"Campaigns" are the "Melee" ("Clash" in JP server and also in my DWO Guide term) that has the actual results in term of the cities control in China. You have to choose SECOND option (not FIRST like for "Melee") to participate for "Campaigns"

It's basically the same rules as "Melee" with exception is that the victory conditions are random and also you cannot choose or set anything about victory conditions. However, there is only one big major difference, which is called the "Consecutive Victories" counter.

Basically, the "Consecutive Victories" counter is count as long as you keep winning in "Campaigns" battles (it does not matter whether you are in Party or solo, it counts individually). The higher of this counter is, the more damages to the enemy's troops and the higher morales of your troops will become, which will lead to the lower requirement of victories to destroy the enemy troops completely. HOWEVER, if you lose once, you counter reset to ZERO and morale takes a bit hit! So, try your best to win at all cost in "Campaigns" battles!!!

I will post images in later post as I will do the "Showdown" (12 vs 12 Battles) in like 7 hours or so in JP server...

Sincerely, Pan2007 ~ Pan2010 (November 12th, 2010)

I've only played the US version of DWO. How is the Euro version? Do they have fun promos and events? Few MMOs these days get a lot of support from publishers, but I chose DWO instead of UWO because I knew that there'd be more localized stuff for us even when not in the game. Good Job koei!

US and Europe share the same version of DWO, so everything is the same

I found DWO US/EU good so far.

Character Names:
Main: StarDragon.CD1 - Colonel - Cao Pi
Alternate: DragonStar.RN1 - Guard - Xiahou Dun (after seeing the officers in Wu [no Lu Meng...D':] next scenario...she's staying in Wei.)
