That would be cool. So we will be able to choose any side we want instead of the one most people favor.. On a different note: I hope they hire some good voice actors for the Character Creation and all the officers. The Japanese voices were really varied and it was really cool to hear them all. |

No, you have to sign up to be a part of the beta testers, Closed Beta just means that the test isn't "available" for a wider audience. The Powers that Be want to get feedback from a small group, and perhaps if that particular group likes what's being provided, they may open up the beta to a much wider audience (that's what is normal with beta testing of anything). Since there's no release date, you have to wait for an email (when you sign up for the beta) to see if you get in. Then again, it may remain closed and you must have an "invite" to get the game anyway. Also, I don't think you will have to pay for anything. What was it like for the Japanese version? did one have to pay to get some of the extra stuff or was it totally free with that version? Edited by Mu Wang, Thu Aug 12, 2010 4:06 am.

I just woke up and noticed I got an e-mail from Aeria games (since I played Shin Megami Tensei Online, also hosted by them) about this and I was literally like, "lolwut." Something about the fact that Koei has completely passed on having anything to do with DWO and passing it onto a cash shop MMO company (Who will probably seek to rape our purses and wallets, like they do with SMT Online and every other game Aeria hosts) just amuses me, I don't know why. It is, however, good to see it finally getting an english release after some odd number of years. Knowing my luck, I won't get invited to the closed beta, since every time Aeria invites me to a closed beta, it's to a game I have absolutely no interest in. Also, this means I can stop playing this blasted Heroes of the Three Kingdoms game, where I had to kill weasels and ferrets for Chunyu Qiong! Edited by Chikalin, Thu Aug 12, 2010 5:46 am.

I was happy when I read the news, but I don't know Aeria Games and, from what Chikalin said, things don't look as good anymore XD. Anyway, I will try to keep up to date on this. |

Well, what I mentioned is just a necessary evil that comes as part of all cash shop online games, and Aeria just does their job really. These games are free, and someone has to pay for them, and there has to be incentive and need for people to pay extra money when the game and service costs nothing. What we will have to wait and see, however, is how exactly they handle the cash shop portion, since some companies handle them differently from how the original company of origin. Some companies gouge the player, some don't. SMT Online, another game by Aeria, is... somewhere in the middle. I mean, you don't HAVE to buy cash shop stuff, but you'd be significantly better off if you did ( I suppose that's a given, though)--and this doesn't mean it's any indication of how they'll run DWO, anyway. ON THE OTHER HAND, speaking of Heroes of the Three Kingdoms in my last post, there are actually REQUIRED ITEMS for quests and skills that MUST be bought with the cash shop, so they FORCE you to actually buy them. As far as I know, Aeria has never done anything to that degree in any of their games. |

They're pretty dang close to it though. After playing through a lot of the mmos hosted by them (Twelve Sky, Last Chaos, Grand Fantasia, Wolf Team, etc), they're close in to the point where it can just ruin the game between cash buyers and regular players. Even then the cash buyers at times need to be lucky to even get some of the items too, which also disturbs me. Edited by Kagosin, Thu Aug 12, 2010 4:19 pm.

*One word... SICK!* How ODD IS THAT?!? EN Unchanted Water Online & Dynasty Warriors Online probably going to release AT REALLY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER!!! I 'TOLD' you since like 2008 that translation is ALREADY DONE FOR AGE, but the dam legal stuffs take FOREVER! It's seems to be always that from JP to EN MMOs, requiring to take about 3~5 years to make EN version release... Affirmative (Affirm as IGN) had quited last year with more than 140,000 War XP (EN would probably translated as "Karma" or "Battles" points)... While I had almost hit 50k at turtle speed (I had played RTKO at the same time and now RTKO proven to be an utter failure). So, this news for me is like "slapping with millions meat buns into my face!" So, for me... I do fear that for some of us who already played JP ver for long time, may ultimately getting ban from JP server at some point after EN version release (KOEI already BLOCKED the DWO JP Website from browsing outside Japan area). This is no different from my Japanese MapleStory era in 2006, where I also got banned along with tons others after Global version released for about 4 months. I don't know if I would bother to redo "PDWari" Global Version again, but... my free time would not be so much anymore. I had felt like going to quit more than retrain all over again (or maybe play little bit and off briefly)... ![]() So, don't expect "hardcore PDWari" like in 2007-2008 for DWO Global version anymore... Last, but not least... I had collect tons of clothes in JP version already. It would be really suck if I have to regain all of that +7/+8/+9 armors again. So... The only game is Nobunaga's Ambition Online, the oldest KOEI client-based MMO. However, I do quite doubt about that game since the game style is really similar to Final Fantasy XI. NOTE: Based on Trailer, the Global Version will release contents matched the one from the "Battle of Chi Bi" episode. HOWEVER, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE WILL START WITH "BATTLE OF CHI BI" EPISODE RIGHT THE WAY! NOTE2: It's also wried... That UWO Global Version releases by Global NetMarble, while DWO Global Version releases by Aeria Games, not the another way around... (JP Version: UWO by Delfin and DWO by JP NetMarble) Sincerely, Pan2007 ~ Pan2010 (August 12th, 2010) |

Would the system requirements for the NA and EU versions be the same as the JP version? I ask because now that there is an English speaking version being released, I would very much like to play it, and I know that my computer specifications are not up to scratch. I would just like to know what kind of kit my PC should have to allow me to play this game as smoothly as possible. Shall I give my PC spec in this thread, or is there another thread where I can take my query to? |

The PC Requirement SHOULD BE the same as the Japanese Version one. It's the same DWO, but in English... No need to get that high-end comp (like Core i7... That would needed if you play FFIV, but not for DWO), since DWO is a 2006 MMO. I can played even with Pentium 4. Just make sure that you have video card that support Vertex Shader 1.1 or otherwise you will get the infamous "1.1" error that people keep asking millions time in "First Aid" section for JP DWO... That's good because my PC has a Pentium 4 processor. To be honest, I don't know whether my graphics card supports Vertex Shader 1.1 or not. It's an Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family card, I've searched the Intel site for the card I have and I can't find any information on Vertex Shader 1.1. As far as I know, the main thing I need to upgrade is my RAM which is currently at a lowly 504MB. Do you think a further 2GB would allow for good performance? Thank you for the help by the way. I really appreciate it. |

Too bad since it is going to be free that the extra costumes and weapons will probably cost money to get. Can't wait for the PS3 version! I'm getting that one! It said it on Gametrailers that it'll release on that too. |

the costumes and weapons are free. some costumes are "premiums" so you need to buy them with real money. Most you can farm for. Weapons are free however, you are limited to 4 if you dont buy more weapon racks with real money. same goes for your costumes and armors. and no the PS3 version is not yet confirmed for the US or EU. its just listed on gametrailers because the JPN version has it. |

I think you need to get a new video card... or even better, get a whole new computer tower! (I means get a new spec of computer, except the monitor, maybe) Anything with "Intel Chipset" or "Intel HD Video" is always the ON-(MOTHER)BOARD GRAPHIC CHIPSET! That's bad! Since while those chipset can play games, but games that requiring intensive graphic calculation will NOT do as well and CPU tend to run higher with those on-board chip than the computer with separated video card. *Intel NEVER make any separate video card like ATI or nVidia do.... (Do note that Intel is more of processor company, not video card company) ... and I don't think that one support the Shader V. 1.1 since that chipset was released since 2002! I just wondered, if we would want to make those forum guilds, we'd need 4 leaders. And if the EU server and the NA server are seperate for each other, we'd need 8 in total, not counting any sub-leaders. How are we going to determine who will be the guild leader? |

Guilds? Leaders? Hell, no! I'm never good at joining guilds in MMO's... one of the reasons I never play MMO's. However, for Dynasty Warriors Online, I'd gladly make an exception
