Anyone who says Lu Bu looks good in DW7 needs their eyes checked. HE'S WEARING A MAN BRA LOL.
I got 20 20 vision so I can see perfectly. He looks completely badass, badass isn't even able to describe it. Lu Bu just is the definition of his awe.
And he is not wearing a man bra. Open your mind up, obviously your not that creative. :XD

Hey hey hey. Man Bra's are in this year.

But yeah, I agree that Lu Bu doesn't look so boss this time around. I'm sure his design will grow on us...

Lu Bu looks more.. human this time (or perhaps it's because he lost a lot of the armour from DW6). I think his design's pretty good, though in his face and hair he does still resemble Sun Quan a little to me (sorry but, he just does :XD ) He's almost toned down but yes, I think it works. ^_^

Sun Quan.. Glad they kept the DW6 hairstyle. His outfit's a big improvement - looks more like a ruler now. :)

Lian Shi.. -_- Better than what I feared she'd be like, but still not good. D: Does she have to look like this, really? ..But I don't want to start ranting, so I'll end this there now. :/

Lian Shi - nothing too bad about it. Nice colors, I don't mind the golden boots: it matches the trim on the other parts of the costume. She must be pretty cocky wearing those high heels into battle, but whatever. The cloth on the stomach connecting her skirt and breastplate which share the same design is clever, but the skirt should've had the same trim. That, and it's too short. She's a bit pale; the earrings are devilish (in the good way) when you see them in her close-up on the Japanese site. Whatever is on her neck, shoulders, and arms, I like it.

The way her hair is bound seems unnecessary and too complicated, but then again when do female costumes follow what's practical?

If I suspend my disbelief to see grown men being K.O.'d by a magic paintbrush, whatever logic's left requires that I should believe this too.

Sun Quan - in his close-up... is anyone else seeing the purple-tinged hair and green eyes? Great costume. It's not made to contrast Liu Bei and Cao Cao's golden armor. These are more imperial robes. As repeated before, reminds me a lot like Lu Meng, except instead of white being so prominent, black is for Sun Quan. The way the lower robes fade from deep crimson into a golden white's a nice effect, and how the belt head actually holds together two sashes is cool.

I'm not so much a fan on the ends of those boots either, but I can understand why the designers did that. If they were just normal boots, it'd look less regal and then there would be nothing unique down there. Thus, they had to go with the special curvy boots, yet these had to be different as Cao Cao, Liu Bei, the Sima brothers, etc. are wearing the same kind. I myself would have preferred normal boots, though.

Lu Bu - still iffy on the missing piece that's supposed to be covering his abs. Lu Bu doesn't need to show off his muscles. He's Lu Bu. :beard: The pheasant fathers have grown too think, the robes + armor is always good. Leg armor really looks too... something (flaired? I'm not sure what to call it). Maybe a close-up would clear things up, I'm not sure whether it's supposed to have an animal motif or not.

His hair is now brown instead of the previous black. A good choice, his DW6 was way too saturated with black. I would have liked to seen more colors used instead of black, gray, red, and yellow. Overall, just another redesign. Not terrible, not great.

Glad they changed the face, he's aged but not too much, and as everyone knows the wider the jaw, the more manly you are!

Bah, Lu Bu looks fine. I was a fan of his super armour in DW6 and at first I didn't like this new look... But the more I see it the better it seems to get. I think it's a good mix of classic DW design and super cool armour

I didn't really like Lu Bu's design when I saw it at first too but it's grown on me. I think that it still looks fierce but not some huge super armour guy like in 6. I personally love the direction they've gone with him.
Now, imagine if Diao Chan matched Lu Bu's design like Lian Shi did with Sun Quan. That would be nice. Although pink and purple suit her just fine.

Oh hush with this hollow statement.

'Open your mind', what are you suggesting, ignoring personal sensibilities of aesthetics? For what? What is gained?

troll...
Anyways, don't hush me  I merely told him to see through the stereotypical "bra", "panties" and "ponytail" and respect the design. That's like saying a japanese person wearing a kimono is actually wearing a dress.
Lu Bu is NOT even wearing a bra, Must be pretty flat chested then am I right? It doesn't resemble one at all :P And with the panties comment, I don't understand where that came from.

I love Sun Shang Xiang's new design, but I find it awfully confusing. I have no problem with asymmetrical design, but Koei might have taken it to an extreme here...

Everything in her outfit suggests indecision. Bought a pair of gloves, but only wanted one. Got a loose shirt, but only wanted one sleeve. Bought some golden bangles, but wanted them on her leg instead of her arm. I'm surprised Koei doesn't have her wearing one boot and one sandal.

But maybe the indecision in her dress represents the inner turmoil she feels when she marries Liu Bei and has to choose whether to fight for Wu or Shu. Lol.

Actually with the one glove thing that makes sense...She uses a bow, and bowmen usually wear one glove, at least presently. Also with the one sleeve bowmen may just wear one sleeve again. :XD

Personally, I don't care how asymmetrical Shang Xiang's design is as long as it's a huge step-up from the previous installment. Although I like the one glove. It was a nice touch imo. Comparing her with DW6 SSX, there's no real comparison! She looks great. I can understand where you're coming from though. Actually, if you look at SSX's CG artwork carefully you can see that it looks like she wore half pants and half dress over that. Confused?

You have forced me to look more in-depth onto SSX's design... :XD
This is actually extremely creative and is fresh. If we had costumes that weren't as you say "confused" then it would look like most of the armor in the historical portraits and paintings, very bland and boring :P

Now, based off that screen it looks like they just supersized Pangtong's hat from DW4 :XD

The thought of her getting dressed and deciding all these things before she goes into battle made me lol. Weighing it all up in her head at the last minute...

Although I quite like the new design. Her colour scheme is quite varied so I don't think she'll be boring to watch for too long

I happen to love all of the character designs. They aren't too flashy, but they're unique. Yeah, flashy armor is cool and all, but I think I'd be a little more concerned about how well my armor holds up, rather than how it looks.

I loved Yue Ying's design pre-DW6. It made her look different than other females. But oh well, I guess she doesn't look that bad. Although I'm not ea big fan of the transparent black baring her midriff.
