If Bao Sanniang was slightly more tanned and had at least some muscle, I'd quite like her design. Right now, however, I'll wait until I have more details on her personality before making my judgement. |

Only one I really like so far is Lu Xun and the new girl. Zhao Yun looks like Ina...and his DW6 armor was a lot better looking. Disappointed with Zhen Ji too, I LOVED her DW6 outfit. She looked like a classy sophisticated lady~ Now she kinda looks like a circus performer, or like Keneticam just mentioned a jester w/e I'll get used to it lol

I have to agree that the new direction is pretty disappointing. I'd like DW to have more of a historical appearance than Final Fantasy. At the very least, they should be distinctly Chinese, but many of these characters look very European in both clothing and physical look. It's sad because Chinese historical costumes have a lot of variety and are very interesting to look at by themselves without needing a bunch of wacky modern designs on top. Overall these look like they're from a Korean MMO. Too many little details, not enough focus on the overall form. Zhou Tai's outfit doesn't fit with his helmet, too many colors and patterns on Sima Shi's coat, Lu Xun looks like a European runway model, and none of them really feel like they belong in ancient China. Hopefully there will be real alternate costumes to pick from instead of color swaps. |

For returning characters, I like all of the new costumes, save for Zhao Yun, but I love his DW6 design As for the new ones, Sima Shi is my favorite. Tits is showing some skin and doesnt look Chinese at all, and Zhao looks kinda silly. But I'm sure they'll all grow on me. |

Gotta admit im loving the idea of the characters showing age and other changes during different parts of their lives shown in the game. Its not been confirmed but the likes of seeing Xiahou Dun as normal before being injured and later appearing in all battles with the eye patch is awesome. As is potentially actually making Lui Bei appear as the oldest of the three brothers as he should be for the first time in the series, an old Zhao Yun model would also be appreciated... he lived to a good age but you would never have known it based on his appearances in all the games to date. Zhang Fei looks a lot older now in that screenshot of him (despite being youngest of the brothers) but i think that again is tying him into a different period of time compared to when they were swearing an oath as brothers to one another. It could well be a screenshot of him at the stage where his daughter Xing Cai is now a fully grown woman and participating in the games cutscenes and battles. All in all ive no complaints about any of the characters designs... The main one is still Lu Bu, its all about Lu Bu. Year in year out you can guarentee the likes of Cao Cao, Dian Wei and Zhuge Liang will not have changed to any great degree but Lu Bu went from madman in appearance to clown prince in that last get up they gave him for DW6. |

Just from looking at all the character designs now, they have a lot similarities from their concept designs. Remember? The designs that didn't get through in DW6? |

I agree with other people that the designs are becoming too Final Fantasy-y. Which for some people might be good but for me is horrible. Also I was hoping they would revert Liu Bei back to his previous look, not the DW6 one. I'm hoping for costumes that let you look like designs from previous games, like what DW4 and 5 did. That would make everyone happy. |

From what I've seen so far, I love the Sima bros, especially Zhao and I really love Liu Bei's new look. The rest are okay to good. I don't hate any of them at least. I do wish Zhen Ji was as classy looking as she was in 6. Hopefully old outfits as alt costumes will indeed be included. |

Wang Yuanji- Love the boots, dress is nice with nice cuffs and fond of the raggedy skirt but dislike the blond haircut. Zhuge Dan-Hair makes me think that the intellectual side may be ignored but love the armour from the lion clasp, the arm guards and the detail on his armour on legs. Is he wearing gloves? Cao Cao-He is Cao Cao and he always looks good in that style. Love the detail with the gold on Cao Cao's clothing Xiahou Yuan- Seems very fat in the scan? Nice to see him fully clothed, helmet and clothes look good in the cutscenes, be interested to see if he can escape Dun's shadow. Cai Wenji-Be interested to see how they do her and how she fits in but then again, how they fit in the females to kingdom mode will be intresting. Would prefer a darker shade of blue and could lose the hats + ropes around waist, loves the shoes. Looks nice enough and nice to see some modesty back given BSN and Zhen Ji's recent outfits. Lu Meng- Could do without the belt but I like the red/purple on one side, white on the other, take away the right shoulder guard and I would be very happy. Delighted they have glammed him up to stand out more Ling Tong-Why is he wearing a tracksuit? Gloves and boots are good, a different colour to the scarf and I would love that feature. Hair isn't bad by itself but combined with the whole, it just looks so odd. Da Qiao- A bit too school-girly perhaps, still looks quite nice. Xing Cai-Why are Xing Cai's flanks unprotected? Not a fan of the shoulders or the headfeather but love the pattern green cloth and armour combo, gauntlet/gloves is nice too Ma Chao- Helmet is off putting, probably due to the massive plume but like the green cloth tunic. From the new batch; Da Qiao, it's no different which I can't help but find disappointing. Wang Yuanji - love her outfit, she looks so good ![]() Xing Cai - I prefer her old one but she looks great none the less. The only character I really don't like is Ling Tong, I just can't bring myself to like it ... |

Wang Yuanji: Simply beautiful. I love her outfit that reminds me somewhat that of Xiao Qiao, in Dynasty Warriors 6. I like his facial expression, it does not look necessarily easy at first. I say it's a girl in his character rather cold manner of speaking. Zhuge Dan: It reminds me of a European by its head and holding it. Much like the meeting by cons, regarding his head, I find "weird". This may be due to his haircut, too. Aside from that, I do find it anything special. Cao Cao: I like it. However, I preferred the bottom (pants off) for Dynasty Warriors 6. Aside from that, he has a good design that fits well. The haircut reminds me of that of Oda Nobunaga in Samurai Warriors 3, too. Xiahou Yuan: I prefer this to Dynasty Warriors 6. We had the impression he was leaving straight from a bar, seriously... I like his outfit that reminds me slightly that of Hattori Hanzō in Samurai Warriors 3. The armor suits him best, simply. Cai Wenji: She keeps her design of Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 with hair down (it seems to me, anyway). I'm finally happy that she has not changed in design, it fits him very well. It is really very beautiful and looks sweet. Lu Meng: I do not really like this character but I do not deny that I think is the best of all its designs. Honestly, just looking, we see that mixed strategy/warrior. (At least, I think I see him like that). It seems to keep the same hairstyle as in Dynasty Warriors 6, great, I think it suited her. Not really disappointed about the hearing, anyway. Ling Tong: I find it really like that. It is much better that way with his design of Dynasty Warriors 6, I found it really ugly... I like his haircut. It even seems to have taken one of fittings Zhang He in Dynasty Warriors 6 for his hair (lol). For the rest of the outfit, I find it really well. Good work. Da Qiao: It seems a little more mature, when we look at his face. I would say she suffered the same treatment as Oichi in Samurai Warriors 3 to just give it a look more mature, which suits him well, given his personality. I'm glad she's held for Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2. It is without doubt the best of all its designs. I prefer she gets it rather than having a costume not necessarily pretty. (This might have happened if she had a new design). Xing Cai: It simply makes me think Tachibana Ginchiyo, but more feminine. Its new design that fits perfectly, I find it very beautiful as this. I love the accessories she wears on her hair too. To me, his return was a great success. Ma Chao: Good job, really. In Dynasty Warriors 6, I thought it Fessant farmer personally. There he has a nobler side and I think it fits well with his sense of justice. I also like his helmet with the long feathers behind. If it had not been, I think it would have been worse. Good design, simply. |

Hmm, lets see. Well, my favorites so far are Lu Meng, Wang Yuanji, and Xing Cai. Just based on how they look so far. (as each new design only rolls around once every couple of years)I don't really have opinions on those that havent been well shown yet, like Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Xu Huang, Sun Quan. |

Ling Tong looks like he's going for a night out on a disco club riding a motorbike hanging out with the ladies. That's my first impression. Xing Cai definitely improved in design. Uh, she looked so westernized with all that armor plates... which quite awesome. T-T-T-The guy next to her... h-h-h-however....... ![]() MC Hunneh is tired from wearing armors I guess? It seems we are on the same wavelength about Ma Chao's new design. By the way, the two small feathers on his helmet reminded me of DW6 Chen Gong's hat or Dynasty Tactics 2 Lu Ling Qi's helmet. They seem quite pointless on Ma Chao's helmet, though. |

Why does everyone consider Ling Tong to look like a biker... ive seen this said in many topics. IM a biker and been to dozens of rallies from the rich boys and their superbike ones to proper beer gut, pretty ladies and enough chin hair to knit a beard castle rallies and he dont look like no biker to me

I didn't said anything specific about Ling Tong's design in any thread, however my first impression was that he looked like a biker, too. I think it's both for the cut and stripes of his clothes (I was thinking of something like this or this other motorbike suits) and the boots. Even the scarf gives a "biker feeling" to some extent. |

The only designs I am in love/grown on me so far are Xiahou Dun, Zhou Tai, Wang Yuanji, Cao Cao, Lu Xun, and Lu Meng. Ling Tong is pretty much the Sasaki of DW apparently not that I have a problem with that since I love Sasaki but that style just doesn't suit him in my eyes. I am very disappointed with MC's look. It's just... ugh. Firion, Ashitaka, and Sera pretty much expressed that feeling for me. I would really love to give an opinion on Sun Quan's design since he has been confirm but his backside from that poor quality trailer isn't enough for me. T.T As far as the others I didn't mention, I just don't give a flip about them at all.

Okay, not it's coming out in Europe I'm no longer repressing knowledge of DW7's existence. Xiahou Dun looks better than he did in DW6, but it still looks like his mum cuts his hair. My brother and my co-DW-playing buddy will be pleased with Ma Chao's look. The customisable weapons is a nice touch, although I hope it doesn't remove some of the flavour of the characters, especially with so very many of them in this game. |

Xiahou Dun I like the design, the armor and coats were good. The new hairstyle looks fierce. I like his new look without the eyepatch too. finally got to see that eye Zhenji Her dress is well designed, and she looked lavish and elegant in these, but I don't know, it seemed the new hairstyle is strange, it made her mouth seems a bit big and the hair is wayy too greasy. the pearl laces also seem a bit distracting. Sima Shi a very stylish coat and everything, his outfit is well designed and detailed, without much flaws, but does he have to take away all Cao Pi's traits? Other than looking alot more European, he isn't much different in his expression to Cao Pi. Sima Shao The outfit looked a bit plain, i mean it is detailed and everything, but just not memorable. his face is wayyyy to "nice guy" for the evil guy he is in history. The good thing is He is probably the only Jin person that isn't EUROPEAN, and it is a good costume, not very sima shi, but good. Zhao Yun Hate the Inahime hairstyle, it is awkward on A GUY. Zhao Yun's expose one arm look is cool, and the armor and everything is nice, just the hair is bad. Bao san niang Beutiful, with beutiful clothing and facial features. excited to see her in game actions. Zhou Tai Like most part of his clothe, especially exited that Zhou Tai return with the armor and the Katana, but the thing is, I don't really like these white undergarbs, it is too distracting from his shadowy dark form. Lu Xun Hairstyle and facial feature is nice certainly, and most part of his cloth is detailed and well made, BUT DO YOU MIND COVER UP YOUR SIX-PACKS? Wang Yuanji: I love her cute yet slightly cold, distant look, her dress is simply amazing, it is highly detailed and creative, with a slight gothic lolita resemblence. Her face is better than most other female characters. But is that just me or did everyone from Jin faction looked a bit......european, but it's always pleasing to have a gothic lolita in game isn't it? Zhuge Dan: Straight out of the Napoleon era, looked handsome and dressed finely certainly. The armors were detailed but not very chinese,....lol Still, why everone in Jin looks western? His hairs modern. Cao Cao: Personally, I like the DW6 one better, this one seems too drab, cloths looked ...dirty, also, the huge chest plate and lack of long coat make Cao Cao's upperbody-lower body balance was thrown off,. His hair and crown looked cool. but he looked too lightly dressed. Xiahou Yuan: Like it, finally he covered up his hairy belly and lost some weight. this is nice. Cai Wenji:Same as MR2, not much change I think. personally, the robe seems too heavy and clumsy, I couldnt imagine her fighting. Lu Meng: His new look is slightly better than the DW6 look, since he had gained some armor to the robes, which were cleaner now. The longer better trimmer beard is sharp. Ling Tong: The new color palette of black and red certainly fit him better than the purple homo-garb. The jumpsuit design is still there, not like it's going to change any time. The addition of scarf made Ling Tong "cool", the hairstyle is good too. Da Qiao: She look exactly like the MR2 look, maybe a few slight alterations and graphic updates, but still the same look. Xing Cai: The dead rabbit dangling from her hair is a little off putting, but the dress and the armors are cool. The legging seemed to be a bit abrupt, guess without transition pattern it seems too plain. The gloves and Grieves are greatmatchup. Ma Chao: Finally he got his helmet back, the long feather looked cool, but what is with the spanish collar and jacket? those things seem to not fit with his helmet, armor and overall appearance, I sort of want some kind of chestplate... Jiang Wei: MR2 look, same old same old Ma Dai: Okay...first I though he is going to be another energetic pretty boy judging by his dressing, which is highly mongulian, fitting for where the character is from. The face seem not fit with the cloth lol. Huang zhong: I like it, much better than DW6 Yeti. The helmet is awesome, the armor and cloth combination is believably historicle and look cool. making Huang look like a real fighter. but BOW doesn't fit with the design, i like him to use a chinese blade. Yue Ying: Hello, a mother in excersice tights, that isn't what i had in mind for a kind, understanding woman. the chun li bun is a fail too. Zhuge Liang- still the same white coat over robes, I mean I rather have him wear a bigger crown, but other than that it's very good. Liu Bei-best we have yet. A nice combination of DW6 young face and hairbun and pre-DW5 elaborate armor. Look like a absolute ruler. Liu Chan- Nicely express himself as a young, fearful, sometime naive emperor, a long coat and emperor hat. The face somehow remind me of Liu Bei but it is much smoother and softer than his dad. Very satisfied with how Koei/Omega Force pull off design for theis character. Cao Ren- Wow, did he grow taller and more muscular. like the armor, it is elegant, certainly heavy like cao Ren supposed to be, but not overly heavy. The helmet looked a little plain though, I'd like to add some kind of tip on it. Jia xu-middle eastern and devious. I mean They pulled off a character than look believably Jia xu. This looks very devious, which is good. The turban and baggy pants remind me of Persia(hey, Taishi Ci is sparta, Jia Xu is persia, we could have a dynasty 300 going on jk) Zhang Liao-Still like the armor and helmet. It suit him as always Dian Wei, just about when I praise DW6 for make Dian Wei cool with the heavy shoulderplate and ball on chain, they returned Dian Wei to DW5 again. Zhang He-look like DW3, and more like Vega/Barlog than ever. The earing is a bit over the top though, not as over the top as stockings and high heel in DW6, but pretty over the top. Ding Feng: okay, trenchcoat, that cornrow hairstyle, the spooky face, excited to see some new non-pretty boy get in wu, but this character does not look real or good Xiao Qiao: Cute as always, but i miss the lolita outfit from DW6 more, the overly big shoes and pants are not exactly good looking, suit her though. also orange is not her color. Zhou yu;his hairstyle and bloody red lip creeps me out, but his cloth is believable and good, make him seem intellegent, elegant and warrior like at the same time. Sun Ce_nothing stood out, still partial roman. He kind of fit betterwith a spear than a set of tonfas. sun Shang Xiang:Beutiful, on par with the DW6 only less crazy and more refined, the tight and short garment clothing made her seem energetic and stylish. Also, her cloth was not westernized, elvenized so that's good. Tai Shi Ci- THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAA. and I like sparta, especially when Sparta put more cloth on Meng Huo- I prefer DW6 look, this kind of revert to the short-looking guy with a huge crown and giant gauntlet look in DW5, and i never liked that, i'd prefer taller, muscular guy with a giant pillar as weapong Zhu rong-too much clothing in the wrong spot and the fur outit is too clean, make her look too "civilized", I'd prefer her to go back to DW4 ish look with more fruit bone and darker leather. Yuan Shao: glad they kept goign on the dw6 way by make him look more noble. but again, he isn't asian. I like the gold armor and coat, but I still prefer DW6 more Zhang Jiao: Bald head, red eyes, barefoot, just as about a combinationg of horrfying priests from every religion (Christian father hair, Muslim ish beard Taoist dress, Buddhist staff and prayer bead, shamanic barefoot dancing. a horror to be witnessed in deed Dong Zhuo: he just keep getting uglier and uglier. and whoever design that hat for him had too much free time in ther hands Sima Yi: He just keep getting more handsome, but his clothing in this game is not exactly good. The pointy hat in um...ugly. the sleeves seem a bit short, the arm bandage isn't too good. but still, he still look like a good master schemer even in clown outfits also i'd prefer claw to fan anyday Zhong Hui:the best Zhao Yun Wannabe, Just as i thought DW7 Zhao Yun don't look good, there is a copy with the almost same exact outfit as dw6 Zhao Yun. deng ai:Wait....it said he used to be a minister.....what? Still he look like a good rugged warrior, other than find a full long trousers to put on,I hav no complain about him. Xiahou Ba: The armor look cool, doesn't fit the baby face though, that doens't matter much though since he will be in helmet all the time. Guo Huai: Kanbei and Saika mixed together. He looks traditional and elegently dressed in that robe. The pale skin was possibly due to his sickness-understandable, look pretty good. but a sick, weak guy in stratagist outfit will lug around a huge gattling cannon, what the hell. I, too, noticed that weird "empty space" on the back of the neck, especially when I saw his close-up in the official site. By the way, I liked his DW6 design also thanks to his hair finally showing (and I think it looked good on him). However, the part of his new design that I probably like least is the torso. *** Jiahe: Don't worry, Sun Quan will look as handsome as always =). |

Looking at it more, I agree with the majority who think he needs some heckish awesome armor. I do think it is better than his DW6 look I suppose, even though that one grew on me. His DW5 appearance was just pure perfection in my eyes, so its quite hard to beat it. This one just didn't really seem to try though. I don't at all hate it, but its just one of those things you wait for a long time for, and it just doesnt live up to expectations.
